New rooms and randomized environments. This makes use of some of the new and final art assets, populating them deeper into the dungeon.
Improved Torch behavior and fixes. This includes certain bug fixes that involved the torch and puzzles, with the exception of 1 or 2 outstanding bugs should be close to final.
Improvements to environment colliding cloth and tapestries to make them look and behave better. Not final yet but getting closer.
Enjoy the update! Much of the new work can be seen throughout the game but level 2 will display it most obviously.
There are tons of other refinements and bug fixes that made it into this update as well. Hopefully items are placed better in more interesting locations and random is more appropriately random.
Also worth noting: The final release price has been set. This included price corrections in all territories. If you purchased the game before today, thank you! It's been a big help in funding the development, and you got the game at a solid discount.
The full release is getting close in the coming months and there will be more news on that soon. Probably once the game reaches beta 1.4 and all the details and scope becomes really locked down. So again thank you, and have fun!
Beta 1.3.7 is up!
1.3.7 is up and the main change is to add more and final environment art to the game. Some of the revisions involved making textures final, taking them from 2k res to 4k, so this is a larger update than usual.
Enjoy! I hope it speaks for itself. One step closer to final shipping quality.
Shipping quality environment art pass is underway
The final, shipping quality environment art pass is being done and you can see some of the WIP images here. The work is going directly into the beta test branch and you can play it for yourself.
This is pretty close to the final look for the first level of the game. However as you progress deeper into the dungeon, the environment will change and evolve. More on that as it gets done, but it won't be long. And these details will randomize throughout the dungeon, making it so no 2 rooms ever look completely identical and there is always a lot of visual and gameplay variation throughout.
This has been part of the shipping plan, and its finally coming to fruition. Any feedback comment here or in the forums. Thanks and enjoy!
Beta 1.3.6 released
Quick update:
Cleaned up the intro segment and all the game menus associated with that.
New default video preferences and better preferences overall. A 105 FOV option added for better UltraWide Screen support.
Better behavior for Him and more final FX to go with it. Several AI refinements and bug fixes included.
First implementation of 20 random levels added. The levels are still too repetitive, but this will be changing very soon.
That's all, enjoy!
1.3.5 is up!
1.3.5 is up and adds some key gameplay elements:
New puzzle where walls and spaces move. The solution is to use the tools at hand... you'll see. This one is located deeper in the dungeon.
Score and Time on the menu interface, endgame scoring. This is all there and working now: You can see how long you've been playing a level for, your current score, what dungeon level you're playing, and so on.
Work on the environment to make the elements more dynamic and lay the groundwork for further randomization. More of this to come!
Also included are some important bug fixes throughout the game. Thanks and enjoy!
4K Gaming is now a reality
1.3.4 is up and has some key improvements:
Framerate improvements for higher resolutions. Make sure you’re updated to the latest Nvidia drivers and you should see the benefits. On an RTX 2080 card you will easily get 60fps in 4K resolution. There will be more optimizations coming in time for release, but performance is very good right now.
Improvements to the mirror puzzle system including some important refinements to hidden treasure.
Numerous bug fixes and refinements to make sure gameplay code runs better.
That’s it! Enjoy the update. 1.3.5 is partially ready and will introduce some new puzzle gameplay that also takes advantage of the mirror.
1.3.3 is up, Mirror Puzzles implemented
Quite a bit of work has gone into his particular update, this is no small change and gets Stay in the Light one step closer to final release.
This build expands on a new magic mirror and mirror puzzles. It involves bouncing light between surfaces and takes advantage of the kind of graphics that can only really be done in a ray traced setting. Right now this new content is mostly applied to the 2nd half of the game, so I can't go too far into that without talking about spoilers. But I can say this all leads to new puzzles, new powers and abilities, new challenges and new behaviors for Him.
Level generation has also been sped up by about 50%. I'd like to make sure this gets more optimized as the game becomes final, so we're going to see what's possible. Ideally level generation will be done in just a few seconds.
1.3.2 is live
1.3.2 is up and adds new story elements, new introductions and power upgrades. Yes, your character will gain certain abilities in the story of the game, and they are gained by finding and collecting certain very special treasure. You'll know them when you see them.
New treasure and treasure room revisions.
New cutscenes and story elements are coming in (WIP visually)
Power upgrades. Certain treasure will give you new powers, story bits and related things.
Improved map generation, layout revisions.
Bug fixes and performance tweaks.
Have fun! Much more coming very soon. These updates are very small downloads, and focused on gameplay and/or story that get the game closer to final. Any feedback you have, of course post it here or in the forums.
1.3.1 update is up!
There’s a 1.3.1 update up and this will be the start of several small, fast updates to improve the game and add new features.
Increased framerate across the game.
Improved Torches. Torch lifespan longer, better FX
Improved Puzzles. Further code cleanup, better randomization, refined placements and new tips.
Some refinements to the generated level layouts. Level 2 made a bit easier for example.
Here’s the game running on a 4K display powered from a 2080ti. Did some testing to make sure running it on a 4K panel is both possible and gets good framerate. Nvidia has been doing independent testing on this too. Runs like a champ!
Stay in the Light 1.3 is up!
1.3 is released and has a ton of updates. In no particular order they include:
Updated to Unreal 4.23
New puzzles and rooms, revisions to existing gameplay
New and updated Ray Tracing graphics
Faster performance, GI for free
A complete game structure (be forewarned, the end levels are still WIP!)
End of level scoring
Major revisions to the AI of Him
Tons of bugs fixed, stability improvements

Thanks to everyone who has been testing and helping with support to get this release to this point. Nvidia has been especially helpful with tech support and bug tracking. So thank you, and enjoy the update!
