Dear Sheriff,
We plan to launch the EA version on June 21, 2019. Players who have participated in the closed beta test will be rewarded with a "Space Cowboy Hat". In the Lobby's Book of Legends, we recorded the Sheriffs who have participated in the closed beta test and given us their great suggestions which have been adopted. Similarly, we will continue to adopt good suggestions from players in the EA version, and Sheriffs with good suggestions will also be recorded into our Thank You List. The sheriffs have helped us find a lot of areas for improvement after the two closed beta tests, so we are now preparing to launch the EA version and hope to improve Hopetown together with all our Sheriffs.

Stay Silent Devs Team
Developer Update | Why the invisible fight?
This time we will answer questions about the gameplay of Stay Silent
Why did you choose the invisible PvP game mode?
To be honest, this was created out of a coincidence. In the beginning, we planned to make a shooting game based on western stories. During the early stage of the development process, we didn't have any invisibility elements. One day when we were developing this original version, a bug made all the characters disappear from the game. After we fixed the bug, the idea of making players invisible to each other came to us. We started thinking that it could work and played around with the idea. The most important point is that this kind of stressful and thrilling atmosphere would be magnified in the immersive medium of VR. Afterward, we developed many game modes around the theme of invisibility since it requires all kinds of different strategies to take down an invisible enemy. Gradually, many of our members fell in love with this invisible mode, and we made it the core of our game.
What kinds of difficulties did you meet when developing invisible gameplay?
Actually, the greatest difficulty was probably the art design. We want to tell the players that when they are in the game they are invisible, everything the players pick up will become invisible too. But at the same time, we need to tell players what they are holding in hands. Obviously, we can't make items really invisible in the game, neither can we make them semitransparent. After several iterations within half a year, we chose a flickering visual effect to display a visible effect with the special effect of flowing light.
Which is the most anticipated or the most interesting part of the game?
I guess it should be the tense moments of shooting to finish off your enemy after sparing no effort (or taking some risks) to find the invisible enemy.
What plans do you have for the future?
We are planning to add a High Noon Time offline battle mode. Players will need to find the best position and adjust weapons within the allotted invisible time to see who is the best sharpshooter.
Are you going to add more story modes in the future?
In the current mode, players have a chance to get some items related to the background story. We have designed many more such items than those that are currently available in the game. We are now developing more story modes. We hope to find a method through which we can better infuse stories into VR interactions and battles.

Developer Update | Why the West?
We received a few questions related to our game theme. So let us answer them here together!
Why did you choose a western theme?
Many members of our developer teams are big fans of the old western classics. When we were kids, we watched many American movies and many were about the American Old West. The scene of riding horses and intense duels made a lasting impression on us. We have also played a bunch of games that have western stories. But we found that there few well-made western themed VR games. We feel that these stories are really interesting and worthy of being introduced to a new audience. So, we set out in the hope to infuse this kind of unique western experience into VR games. Just imagine that you are a great western hero where you use your trusty revolver to deliver your own brand of justice and you will know how cool it is!
What other themes did you consider before?
We have considered making an invisible sci-fi shooting game with the story happening on Mars. However, we think the operation experience brought by those old style guns will be much better than that brought by those sci-fi guns. Our interest and enthusiasm made us choose the western theme. We know that the battles on Mars will also bring players quite different game experience. We will work on it if possible in the future.
Why did you add the story of alien invasion?
We want to bring different kinds of gameplay into this game, which will definitely bring players more challenges and more changes. Imagine that at the moment when you hold your revolver tightly and are ready to shoot down your enemy when the enemy in front of you just disappears. Or like when you find a nice hideout and think you are safe only to turn around to discover the enemy is standing right behind. The element of invisibility enables us to make players more nervous and excited, which made us think about how a west cowboy would gain this ability to become invisible.
Infusing sci-fi elements into a retro world view can always excite many game makers, and many movie makers too. Cowboys & Aliens, while some may say is trash, we think that it is a cool movie with many of our team members really enjoying it. We have to admit that great works of the same theme did have a great influence on us developing this game even those they are not the source of our inspiration.

Developer Update | What we are going to do
Thank you so much for all of you who joined this beta test! In those 5 days, we received many valuable suggestions about our game. We are so confident that with all of you, we could make this a great game!
Here are feedbacks about some of your suggestions that we would like to share with all of you.
1. Phil4853: Can't figure out how to load a gun or leave the lobby. Why are there no instructions?
Yes, we will add instruction or handbook in the following version. And so glad that most of our players like the "swing" way of reloading, just, more instruction are still needed.
2. walkininfected: The speed is quite low though I did seem to manage to run once
Of course, players could run in our game. And we are going to change the way to active running action to make it more friendly.
3. DalekLIVE: so grabbing items is extremely difficult. The shotguns Gave me no problems but the revolver sometimes wouldn't allow me to grab it from the wall. Similarly, the ammo box and grenade box seems to have colliders that prevent me from picking up the item unless my hand is actually touching it.
Thanks for that! We already changed that in our game by enlarging the active zone of grabbing items. And the different hitbox of different guns will also be fixed in the future.
4. haplomega: The dog creature... when it was set loose, lagged about and did some weird animation that looked like it was being snapped by Thanos and reassembled over and over. The Behemoth monster thing that randomly spawns kept pathing into a box and would never move away from it, in one instance.
Those scenes are fun to imagine, to be honest, but we will take them seriously! The AI and reliability of NPC will be enhanced in the next version. Please try again next time!
5. Shadow_at_iSimuVR: This is a really cool game! I definitely think more players and/or a story mode will make it more fun.
Sure! We already wrote a great story for this game before we actually make it. The storyline will be embedded in our feature version of the game via diary, collections and even game mode.
6. Falibu: right now when I press up on the trackpad, the character moves forward based on my gaze and I would rather the reference point be the controller itself, and not my gaze. pressing up on the trackpad should move me forward, relative to the controller.
Thank you for the advice! Actually many other players also raised their question about movement. That will be one of our key points to optimize the game.
7. haplomega is brokenprism: the gas grenade having that cartoony effect.
That's not what we intended for sure. A better Particle Effects are expected in the next version!
8. haplomega is brokenprism: I think there should be a number of hat-related achievements tipping your hat, throwing your hat, throwing it and shooting it there should also be a juggling achievement.
There will be more achievements in the future. But...do not expect that many of them will be related to hats!
Here is the whole updating plan for the offical version of Stay Silent!
Improve interaction experience
Improve movement experience and add more ways to control movements
Implant the whole tutorial in the game
Add 4-8 new guns
Add 6-8 new items and skills
Add more maps: there will be 4 maps in the final version, including a huge map mode.
Add more game modes: including 2v2 and other multiplayer modes. The custom game room will be supported.
Add "mission system": players who level up or finish "mission" will receive a story related collection.
Add a ranking system.
Hats and more skins will be customizable.
Suppurt Oculus, WMR. And a PSVR version is in progress.
Do you have any expectations on our game? Or do you have anything that would talk to us? Leave your comments below! We will select ONE LUCKY PLAYER randomly to give out a KEY for the official game!
