We're happy to inform that the Mac version of Stellar Sphere is now ready for download on Steam (also at the Mac App Store).
The game has been ported with all the features and elements, including graphics quality and different resolutions for you to choose that have been adapted to the Metal API of Apple.
The game also is configured for the Xbox Pad and the PS3/PS4 pad, and other compatible pads you might have. We recommend playing with a pad for a better experience. You can find info to configure Playstation and Xbox pads on MacOS on different sites. Playstation pads are easy to configure, Xbox pads just need a free driver.
We're now adding a new scenario, and working with the new VR version of the game, that will be presented in a few days. Thank you!
Stellar Sphere - Stellar Ring scenario is here.
The new "Stellar Ring" scenario is here.
As we promised during the launch of Stellar Sphere, and today we're starting to deliver, the first additional scenario is now available, and is called the "Stellar Ring". It's a giant ring with a central section or corridor, where maneuverability is very low, and enemy density is very high. This will lead to very hard fighting situations and very close distance between the player.
On the other hand, the wormholes to score are distributed between the outer ring and the central corridor, and the sphere always appears in different random places. This means that at each new point the strategy to follow to carry out that point has to be different.
Remember that the game is also available on Xbox if you prefer to play in that platform with the same features. Thank you!
Stellar Sphere Demo and version 1.1 "Wrath of gods"
Demo available now.
We're happy to inform that a demo is available for "Stellar Sphere", and can be downloaded right now, for those who want to try the game to feel its taste.
This demo allows you to play the first ten levels (from Alpha to Lambda) of the "Stellar Short" scenario. All elements are active in the game. This includes the configuration menus, which allow you to modify all the gameplay parameters. The only thing that has been cut is the maximum time per level, which in the demo is 5 minutes. More than enough time to test in the ten levels the characteristics of the game.
The demo will be updated. Unlike other demos, which remain forever as they were published, the demo of Stellar Sphere will also incorporate new elements that affect the demo and we'll upload those new features. Therefore, every time the player plays with the demo, he/she will be doing it with an equal version in everything to the final version.
Version 1.1: "The Wrath of gods".
The second feature, which is incorporated in version 1.1, is what we call "The wrath of the gods".
The Egyptian scenario, with Horus and Anubis, and the Greek scenario, with Zeus, will see how the gods can choose to help the player, or finish him off. And remember the gods are capricious.
The format of these two scenarios works as follows: all elements of the other scenarios act alike. But in each of these scenarios there are two statues of two well-known gods from Egyptian and Greek mythology. The gods will value your way of playing, and how you act and compete for the highest score. If they think you're doing well, they'll support you by destroying enemy ships.
By the way, Athena will bring new features and surprises in the future. Each time one of them acts, you'll see a small window on one side of the screen, showing the god throwing a lightning bolt. This ray will have chosen a ship that is attacking you, and will destroy it.
However, if you are sleeping and you don't score enough, or destroy enough ships, the gods may get mad at you. Then they will attack you, rather than the enemy ships. And that will be a serious problem for your survival.
What if, on occasion, it happens the other way around? Well, gods are capricious. If any of them decide to change their mind on some occasion, you must remember that they are gods, that is, totally unpredictable. Next time they may decide to make a mistake in your favor.
Version 1.1 is now ready, and the gods will decide your destiny.
And remember: in these scenarios they cannot be deactivated. A god never had a button to activate or deactivate it. Good luck with the championship.
Stellar Sphere has been released!
Finally! We have released Stellar Sphere, and we're very happy for that. But this not the end, but the beginning of the work. Because we have a lot of plans for the game, and we'll be integrating new features very soon.
We have also added a new release trailer here, on Youtube and on IndieDB.
But the most important is you. Whatever idea or doubt you might have, just let us know. We'll hear and answer very soon.
Thank you!
New video with complete test level
Ready to release Stellar Sphere, we bring a complete level with the main features of the game. This is a Kappa 3 minutes level. Stellar Sphere has 24 levels, from Alpha to Omega, plus an infinite level: Athena.
You can see this new video (the second in the list) now ready. There you'll see the almost final elements that have been included. Not every element of course, but the main ones.
We have a new article on IndieDB: “Tactical combat: the basis to score and survive“. Here we talk about different tactics to score the maximum points in Stellar Sphere while trying to survive.
n previous articles we have seen the basics and general rules of Stellar Sphere. We've also seen the "Asteroids" mod, which features a simple gameplay, recalling the old days of that famous Atari game. Now we're going to learn some tactics to get the best scores. Weapons ready and hot, and the sky's the limit.
Meanwhile, 15 days to release the game, and the hard work continues. Thank you for your support!
Asteroids, a tribute by Stellar Sphere
The word 'Asteroids" brings back many distant memories of a wonderful era of video games: the 8-bit era. With those machines, many amazing and incredible games were made, and it was the beginning of an era of entertainment that has become a very powerful industry. Too much perhaps for some. Maybe that's why today we look back with nostalgia recalling those games. One of them, without a doubt, was 'Asteroids'.
We have added a special mod for Stellar Sphere where you can play the game just destroying asteroids and trying to survive. We have also added the great UFO to the game, with a sound similar to that of the old game. Just shooting and trying to survive.
For more info, you can read our blog and follow the link to the IndieDB page where we talk exntesively about this new feature, including a short video featuring this mod. Thank you!
New article and video: pointers and negative spheres
Hello there.
We have a new article uploaded to IndieDB, that is linked from our official web on Stellar Sphere. There we talk about two important features of the game.
The first one is the Ship pointer. This a little arrow above the cockpit, that indicates where the stellar sphere is at any moment, even when it has been captured by an enemy ship.
When we capture the sphere, the pointer automatically indicates the active wormhole where we must score one more point.
What happens if you deactivate the pointer? Well, the game changes dramatically. You'll have to find the sphere, because every time you score the sphere is located at a random place. And you'll have to find where's the active wormhole.
The negative spheres are a concept. If you don't score in 1,2,3 minutes (you choose the time) you'll lose one of your own scores. And, if your score is zero, you can even go below.
What happens if you deactivate the pointer and activate the negative sphere counter? Well, you'll go crazy trying to score before losing your previous scores. Stress. And we think you'll enjoy it. More info and video in our web.
But the final choice is yours. You decide how to play. The important thing is: enjoy Stellar Sphere. Thanks!
New video: Physics in Stellar Sphere
The work continues with Stellar Sphere, and now we have uploaded a new video, the third one: Physics in Stellar Sphere.
In this video we talk about the physics of the game around three basic elements: the Stellar Sphere, the Starship, and the gravity.
With this three elements combined, the player can choose how to configure the physics of the game in a way that can be adapted to any player.
The elements we talk here are related to Newton laws, and imply how the sphere and the ship moves and how friction affects the movement, and also if the player wants to activate gravity when playing.
Changing these parameters in the game using the config panels can dramatically modify the experience of the player. Sometimes easier, sometimes very hard.
The way you play is up to you: we give you the tools. You play the way you like it. The important thing is: never forget Isaac Newton!
Thank you, soon more info coming.
Welcome to Stellar Sphere. Scifi sport, action, and survival in zero gravity
Scifi, sports, survival, action, and space simulator.
Here we are, at last, and after intense work of implementation and testing. The result: a new game that wants to combine different disciplines and types of digital entertainment.
The final question is: what is "Stellar Sphere"? Basically it's a sport set in a science fiction universe. Distantly based on a game from a science fiction novel, "Stellar Sphere" is a zero gravity survival game. The goal: to get the most points and scores.
The way to do it: Survive an endless number of enemies and traps that are developed during the 24 levels of the game, plus the time from 3 to 15 minutes per level, plus the infinite final level, for those who want to reach levels that go beyond what was designed by the developers of the game.
The vehicle is a space fighter, so we could also say that the game is also, in a way, a space simulator, since physics moves the ship at all times. A physics that can be increased or decreased at will, like so many other things. The sphere also moves under the laws of physics, but in addition, gravity, which is normally zero, can be altered.
It is possible to activate a low gravity, or a more intense gravity. By doing so, the scenario changes completely, as will be seen by those who play the game or the demo of ten levels, which will be available before the release of the game so that everyone can get their own ideas about the game. These ideas can be passed on to the development team, who will adjust those opinions that make the game as perfect as possible for everyone.
The four levels of difficulty, plus a special bar of various effects, which can be increased or decreased, give the game many more possibilities. Even the upper pointer, which indicates where the sphere is and where the active wormhole is, can be deactivated. If this is done, the game changes completely, because you have to look for the sphere, which appears at a different point in each goal. And then you have to look for the active wormhole. We assure you that this adds a level of difficulty that will satisfy the most demanding players.
Soon we'll be releasing more info and videos to show how the game works, and of course data about the demo, critical for us to know how you feel about the game. We want to know about you, and give you the best experience from day one.
Thank you, and see you soon. Have a nice zero gravity day!
