Stories Untold follow up "Observation" wins Best British Game BAFTA Award!
We are absolutely thrilled to share that at a glittering (home-recorded) ceremony on Thursday night, No Code's follow up to Stories Untold, "Observation" picked up the award for Best British Game at 2020's BAFTA Game Awards. In a category full of incredible games, we are truly honored to take this award, and it represents years of hard work from a dedicated team.
You can watch the full ceremony below, and don't forget to wish list the game, coming very soon on the 21st May to Steam!
We're very pleased to announce that our follow up to Stories Untold "Observation" is now available to wishlist on Steam!
The game will be arriving May 21st 2020, so be sure to wishlist and receive updates as we get closer to release.
If you enjoyed Stories Untold, we think you'll love Observation. A dark and immersive sci-fi thriller, players take the role of S.A.M. - an AI on board a space station just a few short years from now. The game begins with SAM's 'awakening' just as you, the player, take over and provide this new consciousness. Your curiosity, insight and human nature will play a part in the story, as the crew notice your new behaviour...
Work with Dr. Emma Fisher, a lone astronaut seemingly stranded aboard the station, and help uncover the mysteries of missing crew, what has happened, and most importantly, why. View the world from the embedded CCTV cameras around the station, take control of systems and crew laptops, and pilot SPHERE-Drones around a gorgeous and detailed environment.
A full length adventure game with gripping narrative, atmospheric exploration, story-led puzzles and more, that takes the player on a journey inspired by the likes of 2001: A Space Odyssey, a dose of existential horror, and of course, the now trademark No Code-style experimental game design of Stories Untold.
This critically acclaimed adventure finally lands on Steam in 2020, and we can't wait for you to get your hands on it!
Stories Untold developer No Code have revealed their new sci-fi thriller Observation. Details and trailer below!
Observation is a sci-fi thriller uncovering what happened to Dr. Emma Fisher, and the crew of her mission, through the lens of the station’s artificial intelligence S.A.M. Players assume the role of S.A.M. by operating the station’s control systems, cameras, and tools to assist Emma in discovering what is happening to the station, the vanished crew, and S.A.M. himself.
That's right! Out now, and at a massively discounted price for day one!
We highly recommend a dedicated graphics card set up to play on high quality settings, and for the best experience. This is not your average text adventure, so a decent machine is required!
Enjoy!
Update #3 Available Now!
Hello lovely people!
The latest version of Stories Untold has now gone live! Sorry it took a while, but the few bugs we've fixed where very hard for us to reproduce (in one case, seemingly impossible) but we believe this build should address the majority of crashes that people were having on Episode 3 and 4. There's a joke in there...
If you find any issues, please drop us a line at hello@nocodestudio.com - also be sure to let us know if it does indeed work for you now when it used to crash, to put our little minds at ease.
Enjoy!
Update #2 Available Now
Hello You
We've just pushed v1.12 live (Update 2) to Steam to fix a couple of key issues that were reported over the weekend. It's a quick patch but hopefully should make lives a bit easier.
Fixes:
Mouse Cursor is now constrained to screen bounds in both windowed and full screen (sorry, streamers + Multiple Monitor people!)
60fps Frame Cap introduced to stop some especially good PC's running hotter than the sun (sorry, people with super-ace machines!)
A few minor tweaks here and there for performance
As usual, let us know if you have any problems in the Support Forum or email us at support@nocodestudio.com
Thanks

Hello lovely people!

First off, we've released Episode 1 "The House Abandon" as a demo on Steam. This is the updated 'Remastered' version and is the first full episode of Stories Untold, available now, for free! So if you haven't been sure about whether to buy the game, now there is a perfect way to try it out - grab it now!
We've also released the 'Stories Untold Soundtrack' as DLC! This 4-track OST EP was composed by our very own Omar Khan, with some additional sections from Geoff Angus. We've had a lot of requests for it, and we're happy to finally have it available. Enjoy!
We also have the new trailer online now, summarising some of the lovely things people have said about our weird little game! Share it up, spread the word, and help us build Stories Untold into something huge! :)
We've also got a range of merchandise available to order now. You can order from our site here and help support the studio!
Last but not least, we've put a 25% discount on the game this weekend to celebrate it all!
More news soon!
Stories Untold Patch 1 - Available Now!
Hello!
We've been super hard at work to bring you a sturdier experience and happy to announce patch 1 is available now! You may have to restart steam for it to download, and it weighs in around 100mb.
The big headlines are working achievements in Episode 3 (Sorry about that!!) and a massive performance boost for Episode 4 across the board, so those having a rough experience should find it much more in line with the other episodes.
We've also added the ability to reset your save file, or unlock all episodes. This is mainly for streamers, or those wishing to reset to let someone else start from scratch, and also those who may have played a few episodes elsewhere and want to skip to the next one right away. Remember though: Episodes are designed to be played in order, 1 to 4. No skipping if you haven't already finished one!
Full list of fixes and changes below, and do let us know if you have any issues. Also, let us know if a critical issue you had been in touch about either by support or forum was fixed for you - some problems we couldn't reproduce but introduced some potential fixes for regardless.
Finally, whilst we have some more things to fix here and there, we have had a few instances where peoples saves aren't unlocking the next episode properly. The only way we can reproduce this issue is by not having read/write privileges on the save file location (your user folder in windows). If you are still having issues, the current options (whilst we keep investigating) are:
- reset steam (has worked for a lot of people)
- disable cloud save (this should rely on the local save file if there is a conflict)
- unlock all episodes via the options menu and move ahead that way
Enjoy!
Patch 1.102
Achievements now attainable in Episode 3
Mouse Sensitivity set to a sensible, not-insane level (full sensitivity slider control may come in a future update)
Added an unlock all episodes button in the options screen (this is only to be used if you’ve had issues with Steam cloud sync and can’t unlock an episode to progress)
Added a “Reset Save” option for those wishing to reset their progress and appearance of main menu to factory settings (useful for streamers)
Quality Options now sensibly named and setup – High is recommended, but if you struggle with performance, drop it down to medium or low.
We recommend lowering resolution before lowering quality for best experience*
Camera compensation added for those playing in 5:4 or 4:3 aspect ratios. The text to the left is no longer cropped but you naturally lose some of the scene to the right. For the best experience we recommend playing widescreen windowed if running a 4:3 or 5:4 display
Can no longer see outside the game area in Episode 4
Fix for rare loading issues on Episode 1
Potential Fixes for rare crashing issues in part 2 of Episode 4
Geometry, material and occlusion optimisations for Episode 3 and 4, which should yield better performance on lower end machines
Spelling and grammar errors fixed throughout (although some are deliberate…)
Can no longer open the locked door in EP1 by going away and returning
Fixed game logic hanging in Episode 4 if you try to leave a room too soon
Fixed parser input on many scenes throughout Episode 4
Fixed an issue where the parser could not finish searching related terms before giving an “I’m sorry…” message (this most affects the text adventure portions of Episode 4)
Additional synonyms added for some inputs, based on player feedback
Missing textures from front end re-instated
Potential fix for blank and unresponsive play button on front end
a whole bunch of little things we forgot to write down in the patch notes
