Brand new modes announced!
With just three weeks until the launch of Strange Brigade, we’re excited to lift the sarcophagus lid on two very exciting surprises: Score Attack and Horde Mode!
These two modes – playable in single-player or two-four player – will be available FREE at launch, and we’re delighted to confirm that both will receive free content updates post-launch!
So what are these modes? Read on adventurer, and find out…
SCORE ATTACK – WHERE SPEED MEETS PANACHE…
Score Attack is a fast-paced mode, all about cutting through large numbers of enemies with as much speed and style as you can, in an attempt to keep that combo-multiplier as high as possible! As you might expect, this ticks up as you take down your enemies in quick succession, but will deplete should you take too long to score a kill!
As well as this, there are also big bonus points up for grabs – such as not taking any damage, racking up the headshots, and other devilish challenges to keep you coming back for more.
We cannot wait for you try Score Attack – it’s a fast-paced challenge with plenty of opportunities to show off your skills!
HORDE MODE, WITH A ‘STRANGE’ TWIST!
Horde Mode may seem familiar at first, but the crack team at Rebellion worked their magic to take some of the core gameplay mechanics and reinterpret them in to a fresh new mode!
Similar to spending gold in the campaign to unlock new weapons, special weapons and more, in Horde Mode you accumulate gold by killing enemies – but how do you spend it? Do you splash the cash on the Flamethrower, knowing once it runs out of gas it’s done, or do you save your gold to open up new parts of the level to potentially unlock more goodies like health potions or loot?
This neat change helps to create a thrilling mode, whether you’re playing solo or with 2-4 players, full of tactical decisions to be made in the face of an unending horde of nefarious ne’er do wells…

What ho, adventurer!
With the launch of Strange Brigade on the horizon (well, August 28th to be specific), we thought it high time you acquaint yourself a bit better with the four fearless adventurers that make up the brigade. From back story to loadout, read on to find out details about each character, as well as how they came to be a member of the Strange Brigade…
Nalangu Rushida
Years of harsh training hunting demons has bestowed Nalangu with rapid reflexes and a sixth sense for danger!
DEFAULT LOADOUT
- Primary: Chamberlain Automatic Rifle
- Secondary: Marley .45 Automatic
- Item: Molotov Cocktail
DEFAULT AMULET POWER
Blazing Wrath of Ra: Harness the power of the sun god Ra. Leap in to the air then bring down a radial blast of fire!
ATTRIBUTES & ABILITIES
- Fast Movement: Overall movement speed is increased.
- Vampire Strike: Nalangu receives a small amount of health from each successful melee hit.
BACK STORY
Raised from birth to protect her people from supernatural threats, it was only when she underwent the ritual trials to become a full Spirit-Warrior that Nalangu learned her destiny lay elsewhere. Following this new path led her to Lady Imelda Webster. Since joining the Brigade, she has travelled across Africa to hone her Spirit-Warrior skills and bested beasts and demons from across the globe.
Frank Fairburne
A lifetime of service in the army has left Frank with a tough exterior … oh and a rather brutal headshot!

Chariot Charge: Charge in to your enemies with devastating force, knocking them flying and exploding on contact with the ground!

BACK STORY
A veteran sharpshooter described as ‘the man with the coldest eyes in the Empire’ by his commanding officers, Frank’s seen a lot during his time on clandestine operations. However it was his assassination of a demonic cult leader in the Khyber Pass that brought him to the Brigade’s attention. Not that he knew it at the time! Motivated more by money than honour, Frank is a deadly addition to any expedition.
Gracie Braithwaite
The Lancashire Lass with a dab hand for explosive & fisticuffs. Remarkably useful in close quarter combat!

DEFAULT AMULET POWER
Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb: Wrap your foe in spectral bandages. Pull your enemy towards you then fire them forward as an explosive!

<*>Haymaker: Gracie’s melee attack has a large area of effect.
BACK STORY
Born and raised among the smoke-belching factories and dark satanic mills of northern England gave Gracie all the toughness and no-nonsense attitude she needed to survive. It was when she burned down a textile factory being used by demons to make human skin-suit disguises that she came to the attention of the Strange Brigade. Her blunt way of talking may not be to everyone’s taste, but there’s no denying her effectiveness as a Brigade operative.
Professor Archimedes De Quincey
With his affinity for magic, Archimedes has a wider soul gather radius & the ability to open ancient alcoves!

DEFAULT AMULET POWER
All-Consuming Swarm: Summon the power of a cursed scarab swarm. Fire a powerful group of projectiles that home in on enemies, causing damage on contact!

- Powerful Soul Aura: Able to attract souls at a greater distance.
- Keen Secret Finder: Allows Archimedes to see treasure that others cannot see.
BACK STORY
Noted archaeologist and scholar, unearthing the secrets of the past was De Quincey’s greatest passion. One that would eventually lead to tragedy, when on an expedition to find the Crown of Dagan, his entire party was killed by the evil forces it unleashed. In remorse, he joined the Strange Brigade. Where once he wanted to uncover the secrets of the past, now he wants only to keep the world safe by ensuring these ancient horrors remain forever hidden.
