The long awaited Track Builder is released December 16th and to build up to this event we've changed some of the rules in Stream Racer. For a limited time you can boost up to 10 times per race, but be careful, every boost has a chance to blow yourself up!

1.8.0 patch live!
Hey all,

Welcome to patch 1.8.0. Last patch we removed car-on-car collision to see its effect on the game. While there's a large group of users that like this change, there's also a substantial group of player that's don't. That's why we're introducing something new in the patch, game modes! The initial game modes are Time Trial and Arcade. Time Trial are about speed! No car collision, maximum racing! max players for this game mode is 200! Arcade is all about fun! Full car-on-car collision, maximum chaos! max players are 75!

We've also patched / tweaked some others things:

- Introduced game modes, time trial and arcade.
- Game mode is displayed in pre-game lobby.
- Increased leaderboard update interval, this fixes some close finish issues that happened.
- Random time is no longer always night. It cannot always be night.
- Vehicle labels (player names) are now hidden when the vehicle is far away from the camera.
- Fixed a camera stutter issue when following a car manually.
- Hide labels when in prop-camera mode.
- Fixed Racecar Retro Game skin.

This is a forced patch, meaning you have to update in order to start a race (server only works with version 1.8.0 🙂)

1.7.1 patch live!
Hey all,

A quick small patch here, fixing some small things. This patch contains:


  • Leaderboard now properly shows finishers again.
  • Pressing 1 to 9 will now (again) switch to cars that haven't finished yet.
  • Fixed respawning problem where cars got stuck on obstacles.
  • Added 0 key to go to the 10th place car
  • Added support for numpad 1-9 keys
  • Added a small new billboard.


This is a non-forced patch, meaning you don't have to update in order to start a race (server works with both 1.7.0 and 1.7.1. But updating is recommended to give a better racing experience! :)

Patch 1.7.0 live!
Welcome to patch 1.7.0! There's quite some changes this patch so, if you're interested, be sure to read the patch notes below!

Patch notes

  • Turned off vehicle to vehicle collision. We've noticed that vehicle are more blocking each other in an annoying way then in a fun way. Now, vehicles will still collide with the environment and obstacles, just now with each other. Created faster paced racers with still a touch of chaos.
  • Upped the maximum racers to 200(!!)
  • Various performance optimizations. (way) more FPS in game, less CPU and less GPU usage overal.
  • Added over 30 new skins! Be sure to check them in the app! (App also has had a small visual update!)
  • Leaderboard now has room for top 10 players
  • Leaderboard's height now shrinks if you have less than 10 players in your game.
  • Random time is always nighttime for this patch, let's have some night races!

Tweaking the Tractor, the F1 car and added a new skin for the Coupe!

1.6.2 Released
Upgraded final Kraken Twitch API calls to new Helix API calls. This fixes the issue with Twitch profile images not loading.

This update is not forced as no game mechanics are changed.

Small patch containing updates to boosts (back to 2!), explosions, speed pads, the map and mushrooms?! Let's race!

Season 2 Started!
Season 1 has ended and although it was a bit shorter than normal, what a ride it was! I want to congratulate ray_dude with the #1 position this season!! The top 10 of this season will receive a unique champion season 1 skin, which will be awarded later this week. The number one position, ray_dude, will be the proud wearer of the unique "Champion of Stream Racer" title for the entirety of season 2.
