Patch 1.0.4

Optimizations:

- Big rework on point lights, can now have an infinite amount instead of just 32, and they are much faster.
- Decals, such as blood and bullet holes applied to terrain, could cause recurring frame drops, but are now very fast.

Gameplay:

- Repair now gives points for each crew member even if there is no driver.
- Richochets now do damage.
- Bullet damage now dependent on velocity.
- Friendly fire by explosions removed.
- Can no longer die from being wounded, bleeding stops at 1HP, player will be slowed instead.
- Bots are now a bit slower and has a more random behaviour.
- Duds, or ammo that is explosive and hits ground before a safety distance is reached, will no longer explode on expiring.
- Bullets that hax terrain will now have a reduced velocity and therefore damage, as well as a distorted path.
- Slight improvement on vehicles following terrain, still needs more work though.

Known issues for future patches:

- Shadows don't seem to render on AMD.
- Sometimes the credit of a kill is incorrectly displayed on the client.

Bug fixes:

- Some graphics cards could not render fog at all.
- Crashes or undefined behaviour on old cards that do not support OpenGL 4.4.
- Joining a server at the same time as someone else could cause all sorts of problems.

Improvements:

- Fog should now generally be faster, and much faster on cards only supporting OpenGL 4.3.
- Fog should now in general look better.
- Removed chat functions of bots in multiplayer games, they will now only chat in single player.


Known Issues to fix in future patches:

- Lighting is currently very expensive and will be optimized.
- It seems that shadows will not render on AMD cards currently, will look into this.
- Bots are too difficult for new players, will add some dynamic difficulty that makes bots easier for new players.

EDIT:

- There has been a bug where joining a game will fail because the data download never finishes, this should be fixed now. As well as some other related network bugs.

Someone asked how to register and not just login as guest - you can buy the DLC to do this at:

With the DLC you can make an account that saves your score from any game, even single player / training, and this is used to unlock new kits. For example when you reach 100 total points you may choose a new kit to unlock for the first time, this interval increases exponentially.

I am currently working on optimizing some stuff in the rendering engine.

First update

Hello all.

Thanks to your feedback I have become aware of problems with running the game on some graphics cards, these are:

1. Game will not even start on some cards due to a shader problem.
- This should be fixed now, I patched it this morning. Please report if you still see some popup warning of a shader error.

2. Fog is not visible, but still works, so things seem to disappear or become invisible.
- This will probably happen if you have a card that does not support OpenGL 4.4. I have accidentally used a 4.4 function for optimization of fog, while only 4.3 is required... Will try to fix this as soon as possible.
