Hello, Aural Explorers! I'm pleased to announce the addition of an audiophile dog to String Theory. Notezart's adorable mug now adorns all tutorial screens, and the main menu. This has no effect on game mechanics, but 100% effect on dog.
Carry on!
Bug fix
Seems a nasty little crash bug had slipped into the volume controls of the Training Mode. It's been dealt with.
Update 1.05
We've added a feature many of you have been asking for: when you fail a tier, the chord and notes you missed will be revealed. No more wondering what went wrong!
Training Mode is Live
Hey, chord crushers. We're rolling out our new training mode to the main channel today. This mode currently focused on finding the Root of the each chord. To help with this, we've set up the background music a little differently in that mode: you can mute any note in the BGM individually!
We're hoping this will help smooth out the learning curve a bit for new players without a music background. Let us know what you think!
Thanks for playing!
Beta Update: Training Mode, Round 2
We've reworked Training Mode to give players a bit more control over what notes the background loops play. You can now mute any of the notes in the background chord so that you can isolate the root, third, fifth, or seventh at your pleasure.
Once we're happy with the stability of this mode, we'll be moving it to the main channel.
Thanks for playing!
Beta Update: Training Mode
We're testing a new feature to help ease the learning curve for new players. If you'd like to try it out, switch over to the beta channel and let us know what you think.
Update 1.04
Happy Spring, chord cutters!
Update:
- We've listened to your feedback and altered two background loops (Groove McSmooth and Hardlectro Swing).
- The 2A03 Chip instrument wasn't unlocking with the Playing With Power achievement. Fulfilling the conditions of that achievement will now unlock the instrument (whether or not you've previously earned the achievement).
Beta 1.04 Update
We've been working on our first BGM update and are testing out new versions of Hardlectro Swing and Groove McSmooth. They're currently available in the beta channel version of the game (select under properties).
Update 1.03
We're reviewing feedback on the game so far and will have some big announcements coming up in the near future.
Small weekend update:
- We've updated our chord charts, which should address some of the issues players were experiencing with 7th chords.
- Fixed an issue where the wrong asset displayed when the Fifth Finder was deactivated.
Patch 1.02
We like stable games as much as we like making chords.
With that in mind, this update includes the following fixes and changes:
- Displaying leaderboards no longer causes a fatal error.
- You can now navigate the submenu with the up and down arrows without causing a crash.
- Framework for forthcoming non-English language support
