Now that Stronghold 2: Steam Edition is available, Stronghold Kingdoms has arrived on mobile and MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures is rapidly approaching release we thought this would be a great time to update everyone on the state of play.

Stronghold Kingdoms - New Updates Planned!
In the video above our three developers provide a quick update on each title including new gameplay, timelines and nuggets of information. As we look forward to the release of MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures on Steam Early Access and prep for full production and the reveal of Stronghold Next in 2018 this new video is designed to let you know exactly where we’re at.
While Stronghold Kingdoms is already available worldwide you can expect MetaMorph to release very soon, followed by a full reveal of Stronghold Next in the not too distant future. Our reveal of the next mainline entry in the Stronghold series will take place next year, including almost everything we can show at that stage and loads of information. Rather than a simple announcement in the form of a logo reveal you expect gameplay footage, the full title, setting, features and new units all in one go!

We have released a small update to address a couple of issues.
Change Log
Fixed the "Fetchez La Vache" achievement.
Added an options_override file for players experiencing issues when saving game options. (See below for full details)
Some players have reported that the game does not allow them to load and save games properly. This appears to be because the game cannot access their Documents\Stronghold Crusader 2 folder for an unknown reason. To remedy this we have released an update allowing players to change the directory in which Stronghold Crusader 2 stores all options, saved games, maps etc.
In order to use this players can edit the file in \bin\win32_release\options_override.xml, located in their installed directory. Please read the instructions within the file before editing it.
We strongly suggest only using this override if absolutely necessary, in cases where the default directory cannot be used. Do NOT use this override option if you experience no issues when saving options, progress or saved games within Stronghold Crusader 2.
Please Note: Steam Cloud will not work if you use an override path. Steam Cloud only works with the Documents\Stronghold Crusader 2 folder.
This update should download automatically when you launch the Steam client. To confirm whether or not the download was successful, check the version number displayed in the bottom left corner of the main menu screen when launching Crusader 2. If the number displayed is not 1.0.22670 please restart Steam until the update downloads.

Lunar New Year Update

We have just released a small update adding three extra skirmish maps to the game!
New Maps
Around The Cross (4) - Each player has ample natural defenses surrounding their estate, but whomever controls the high ground in the center will gain a significant tactical advantage.
A Long River (6) - Different elevations, estate shapes and levels of resource availability present a unique challenge for each player. Adapting to your surroundings is key to victory!
Fire Fight (2) - Sparse arable land means enemy players must rely on collecting pitch to support their economy, giving the advantage to those who can maintain and protect a steady supply line.
Please Note: This update should download automatically when you launch the Steam client. To confirm whether or not the download was successful please check the available skirmish maps for one or all of the above map names. This update will not change the version number from the previous update's number (1.0.22616).

Mini-Campaigns, Optimisations and New Maps

We have released two mini-campaign DLCs for Stronghold Crusader 2, alongside an update for the game adding fresh maps and optimisations. Formerly a pre-order exclusive, we have released these mini-DLCs so that all players can complete their Crusader 2 collection. Stronghold veterans and achievement hunters can now buy each DLC individually on Steam:
We have released a small update for Stronghold Crusader 2 addressing a few issues. This update adds four new maps to the game, as well as fixes and optimisations to prevent variations in worker productivity during larger games. Special attention has been given to Woodcutters, due to their importance to the player economy.
Ruins - This map's unique setup provides up to four players with a reliable source of Stone, but leave the elevated center uncontested and even the mightiest walls will crumble.
Mirage - Eight players must cross the great desert to reach fertile grasslands and enemy castles, but be quick! If left undisturbed opponents can and will build mighty strongholds.
Three Rivers - A turtling player’s dream! Three castles stand high atop their own hill, providing strong natural defenses. Resources on the other hand lay scattered about the map in strategically vulnerable locations.
The Fork (Sandbox) - Your castle is on a mountain at the conflux of two great rivers. Venture outwards to discover plentiful resources before testing your castle design with wave after wave of AI sieges.

We have just released a small update for Stronghold Crusader 2 addressing a few issues. We are also planning to release another update before Christmas, this will include our final map pack for the game.
Bug Fixes
Pathfinding optimisations.
Added tooltips to in-game shields.
Improved movement and usability of Oil Tippers.
Fixed Friend / Invite Only lobbies kicking players out.
Fixed certain actors that are not allowed on towers warping onto them if they were standing on the ground where a tower is placed. These now warp to the side instead.
Improved movement and placement of troops on wall buildings such as Stairs and Barracks.
Grid overlay in Map Editor no longer appears red everywhere outside the Player 1 estate.
Fixed siege equipment and mounted units that were unable to move onto bridges.
Fixed issue preventing publishing to Steam Workshop from the Map Editor.
Fixed a bug where player resource production would decrease in larger skirmish games. Thanks FireRanger!
