Team Memo 5-13-2019
A quick update of some things we’ve been trying out:
Driver hands
We're testing some hand positions for vehicle drivers, in preparation for when we eventually implement car steering wheels.
Item handling
We're experimenting with having a transition time during certain inventory operations, such as storing/retrieving items and reloading weapons.
Bug report form
Thanks to those who have submitted reports! It’s helping make the game much better, and the team appreciates it a ton. If you find any bugs, exploits, or map glitches, please let us know: https://form.jotform.com/90557091412959

Team Memo 5-6-2019
A quick update of some things we’ve been trying out:
Voicechat
Players speaking on voicechat will soon have a tiny microphone icon flash over their heads when they speak, making it easier to identify who’s talking. Additionally, we think we have a possible fix for voicechat sometimes not activating.
Hand animations
We’re working on some basic hand animations for gun handling and reloading.
Admin system
We’re making some changes that will make it easier for admins to control and maintain their servers. More details to come!
Car tweaks
Cars are getting some tuning changes that will stabilize them more and reduce some sliding.

Team Memo 4-29-2019
A quick update of some things we’ve been trying out:
Controls changes
We’re still experimenting with the control scheme. It’s a fairly extensive change, and it’s taking some time to make all of its pieces work well together.
Anti-cheat
We’re working on a file verification system to prevent use of modified models that give an unfair advantage.
City changes
We’ve made some improvements to the lighting and texture material system, so the city will look a bit different in the upcoming build.
Also: the city now has a boxing ring.

We’re mostly trying to wrap up this build and tie up all the miscellaneous loose ends. Sub Rosa is a complex game, and it gets increasingly more complex with each successive build. We appreciate your patience as we get all parts of the game ready for release.
Thank you for your support!

Discord
Sub Rosa now has an official Discord server! Our goal is to make this an inclusive and supportive community, and we hope you'll join us: https://discord.gg/subrosa
Weapon stock
When a weapon is fired, we’re experimenting with having the weapon stock collide better with the player body. The goal is to better stabilize the weapons, and so far the results are promising.
Eliminator mode
We’re testing some tweaks to the Eliminator gamemode, such as having having Eliminator kills affect the round countdown timer.
Controls changes
Still working on the control changes -- trying out some control schemes for the throwing system, and how player names are displayed.
City changes
We added a variety of miscellaneous additions (footbridges, staircases) throughout the city and did a lot of bugfixing.

Throwing system
We’re in the process of redesigning the throwing interface to be more reliable, quicker, and easier to use.
HUD animations
We’re experimenting with adding UI animations to clarify some player inventory actions.
Vehicular combat
We’re testing out some changes with how car combat works, specifically with how players can currently drive and shoot at the same time. More details to come.

We’re in the process of streamlining the control scheme. There’s still a lot of testing and experimenting to be done here, so we’ll reveal more specifics once it’s more solidified.

We’re testing some changes to the HUD, including displaying a live 3D wireframe of your player character. This will hopefully make it easier to read your health status and physical stance.
