This one was weird for me. Yeah, it's anthro animals and dragons, yes, there are still remnants of the dating sim formula that has worked well for us, but it's also filled with real stuff that happened to both Amber and myself working the past decade for retail. A majority of that, for me, was in this or that Halloween seasonal store.
So there's content in it. Just to tell you know.
Anyhow. We have a few more unannounced games to announce, which are smaller and we feel easier to "pump out" alongside our bigger lineup that we feel we can get done by the year's end - Joe Papp 2, Rainbow Hollow, Paper Shakespeare: To Date or Not To Date 2, and Lizards Lost.
Also: stay inside if you can. We're nowhere near the end of this virus junk.

Work has begun on updating the entire codebase of both Army games to fit in with where things stand now. "Where things stand now" means two things:
1) Where the company stands/how far we've come 2) So that past Army of Tentacles framework/quality matches up with new additions to the franchise
When we started out in 2016, we didn't quite know everything there is about game development. We still don't. We made mistakes, both financial and judgmental. Some big, some small. We know better coding tricks now, and we are more equipped to deal with the makings of a game. I think that anyone that has followed us over the past four and a half years has seen that we've grown as developers.
We can't promise the Army 1 and Army 3 remasters - of which both would be free patches - this year. We have a bit on our plate, but it is also clearing up rather quickly.
While we would love to have both patches hit in unison, Army 1 will probably hit first. There will most likely be a paid graphical upgrade DLC for Army 1 that will come sometime after the actual patch. Possibly. It all depends on if it seems worth it or not.
What to expect in both games:
Army of Tentacles 1 - New resolution (1920x1080) - Completely reworked code base - New UI - New attribute and leveling system - New shop/quest system - Completely reworked Army system - New party skill system - New Argument system
Super Army of Tentacles 3: The Search for Army of Tentacles 2 - New map screen - Completely reworked code base - New UI - New attribute and leveling system - New shop/quest system - Completely reworked Army system - New party skill system - New Argument system
These will, of course, break any current saves. It is being coded as to save currently popped achievements. Work has already begun on the UI.
Have a nice day/night/timezone.

A note about sales:
None of the 2020 games will be on discount for the Summer, Winter, Autumn, or Halloween sales. If you want to wait for a sale, that's cool; just know that none of the 2020 games (past or future) will be on sale this year.

Self-Isolation and Indie Development Update
You'd think that self-isolation would be great for an indie dev, right?
Forced to be inside?
Well, yes and no. More no than yes.
Release dates are all sorts of wacky right now. Halloween Times is going to hit its mark, but Rainbow Hollow may slip. I recently moved to Boston, and as such, have not been able to fully focus on game development. I'm taking a few days for myself until my work computer arrives late this week. Even then, I'm all out of sorts and discombobulated from both being in a new city, and not being able to get my bearings because of COVID-19 and the mess it caused. Oh, and I feel like I'm getting sick. No, not COVID symptoms, more like weird stomach stuff.
I've got a schedule, but it is pretty tight, and when push comes to shove, it doesn't look good for the experiment known as Rainbow Hollow getting out anytime soon. I'm much more confident of getting Halloween Times out before summer, and even then, it is going to miss April completely for a May launch. Maybe. We'll see.
In the coming weeks, we'll be putting up a poll and a forum thread about what people liked and disliked about the first two Army of Tentacles games. Take into mind that we would be revamping the quest, inventory, and attribute/stat systems regardless of comments and criticism.
