Super Distro

Progress on upcoming update! + OST for the update is out!

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the long wait but the new and improved version of SUPER DISTRO is almost upon us!

Thanks for all the positive comments and all the critical feedback and just being all round awesome people!

The new update is coming along fantastically and should be released hopefully in the next few weeks. The reason it has taken so long is because it's a complete re-write from the ground up of the game - To fix all the problems reported via the community hub and from reviews.

However, There is a small problem that you may be able to help out with: With taking all the feedback on board; The new update completely changes the game. This is awesome as the updated version looks awesome and plays awesome. However, I'm not sure if people will still want to play this version of the game (Yes, The update is THAT radically different).

So I'd like to ask: Would you rather just the update to overwrite the main game files or would you like the choice of either playing the updated version and this "Legacy" version?

Post a comment to this update with either: "Both" if you want both or "Just the update" if you think we should focus on just keeping the update to keep the file-size in check.

That's all I have to report for now; If any of you have spoken to me in the past few months; You'll know I've been hard at work remaking the game from the ground up to be less rage-inducing and more like a game you WANT to play.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback; It's been really, really helpful as I fix the mess I let out on the world - Sorry again for that!

Speak soon everyone, You're totally awesome! :)

P.S - Want a sneak peak at the new update? How about the soundtrack?! - https://kitatus.bandcamp.com/album/super-distro-dx-directors-cut - If you select buy now and select 0.00, You can download it completely for free!

Feedback and Upcoming update

Hello everyone (I hope you're all having an awesome day!)

I don't know how to start this - So I'll get right to the point: A lot of you don't like the game.

I understand this - I understand all the issues raised and I'm personally making it my mission to make sure you all leave with smiles on your faces as opposed to the negative feelings a lot of you are feeling right now.

So let's break down what I've learnt:
- It's TOO hard. Not in difficulty, But in cheap-ness.
- The artstyle sucks (And feels like a flash game)
- The music is ehh... (I made it in a day when the audio guy crapped out on me - That's not an excuse, But more a reason).
+ A heck of a lot more feedback.

I apologise that so many of you have had a negative experience to the title. I have worked in creating video-games for a little over 10 years, However this was my first commerical product.

I can see that a lot of you feel "Cheated" in some way because of what you expected / What you recieved.

So what am I going to do about it? - The next update you'll download should fix A LOT of original issues with the title. I have learnt a lot from releasing the title and I hope to learn even more.

I do not want to "Overhype" the update; So I'll get straight to working on it and will hopefully have it in your Steam libraries as soon as humanly possible.

For this reason, I've delayed all future versions of the game until it's a game that more people enjoy that dislike.

Don't be fooled, I have read everything posted (Almost every hour I'm awake, I jump to see what you are all saying) and have taken everything on-board.

I apologize from the bottom-of-my-heart that a lot of you experienced something negative from SUPER DISTRO but I hope that with some extra hard-work and elbow-grease - You'll all come to love SUPER DISTRO.

I could blame a lot of things for why it turned out the way it did - But it all boils down to this one thing: There is no excuse. There's no excuse why you had to waste your time playing the title, Which wasn't enjoyable. There's no excuse for creating a game that isn't enjoyable for you guys 'n gals - And that's why I made this - For you. To enjoy. If you're not enjoying it then I've done something wrong.

So I'm going literally back to the drawing board and will fire the new update out ASAP. Expect big changes and fixes and I hope to hear all your feedback as we reshape SUPER DISTRO together.

Thank-you everyone for all your feedback - It's been awesome to read the good and bad stuff - It shows you care enough to try out SUPER DISTRO - Which is awesome!

Have a wonderful day/morning/evening gaming, And I hope to speak to you all again soon - With a new update in hand!

- Ryan

Hotfix 2.5.61 Live!

Hi everyone!

I was getting reports that Level 3 (Some of you got that far?!) was suffering from poor performance.

After investigating, This was because 250 giant ghosts were spawning as soon as you started.

Thanks to your reports - I've fixed it and it's now sorted (Hopefully!)

I've also fixed the bug where you could jump out of the map on Level #3 - If you try to now, You'll die (But I'm sure you're used to that by now)?

As always, Thanks for all your support! - Be sure to shoot me an email if you find anymore bugs! - contact@kitatusstudios.co.uk

P.S I apologize about all these bugs; It's super embarrassing; But it's really nice to see you're all being totally awesome about it - So thanks!

P.P.S - I'm totally making this Hotfix numbers up.

Hotfix 1.4.21 Live!

Let me know if you're still having any problems!
- Ryan

(P.S I totally didn't make that hotfix number up)

- Fixed Achievements
- Added Level 4 - Spooky Spooky Manor
- Adjusting player control to feel less "Floaty"
- Various gameplay tweaks
- Random bug fixes in enemy behaviour

If you find any more bugs or anything - Feel free to either post them in the comments or shoot me an email: contact@kitatusstudios.co.uk

Thanks for being awesome and have fun gaming! ;)

Thanks for all your feedback + First update / Bug Fixes Coming! (+ Mac / Linux version!)

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the awesome response - You rock!

All the trading card errors should now be fixed - But thanks to your reviews (Which are randomly glitching out, But hold in there - I've contacted Valve and they should return soon!)

Next week, I'll be uploading the first of the bug fixes for the bugs you have all found. It's my fault that I didn't notice them sooner - So expect a bug fix within the next week!

I'll also be adding the first free map as a thank-you to you all in the update so look out for that!

Bugs I'm going to be fixing for update #1:
Fixing Achievement bug
Fixing audio bug
Making sure the enemies don't throw you too far
"Floating Death" will be fixed
Fixing Parralax issue on level #1
Stopping enemy bullets will no longer push through floors
Enemy bullet speed will be changed so you have time to react
Changing volume slider will be a percentage rather than a number

Major props to (@SamCoIndustries) for finding these!

I'll also make tweaks to the controls to make sure they don't seem as "Floaty"

Thanks for all this feedback everyone - I hope I can get it all fixed soon!

EDIT: The update should be out within the new 2-3 days - Been working on localisation improvements!

Hello World!

...And we're live!

Hello there everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know about what the future holds for SUPER DISTRO.

There are around 17 FREE additional levels planned. Yes. 17 FREAKIN' LEVELS!

So why haven't I released them yet?

Well, I wanted to wait for you... Yes, YOU! and your thoughts.

--------------

In the game currently are a few levels, That I want you to try out and give feedback about length, Difficulty and fun.

That way I can adjust the future levels to make sure they're exactly what people want.

It's been really hard as I've made this game in three years all my myself - So it'd be nice to get some outside input on making sure it's the best it can be!

So don't be shy to shoot some feedback my way. You can either do it here or by emailing me: contact@kitatusstudios.co.uk

----------

Thanks and I hope you enjoy SUPER DISTRO!
