OUT OF EARLY ACCESS!
Super Volley Blast launches out Early Access today!
After tweaking and refining the core mechanic, adding Super Blast mode with 5 new gameplay experiences, a new court, rumble support and fixing bugs and adding lots of features asked by the community, we can say that the game after Early Access has improved a lot.
We feel like the game is complete now. We will probably update minor things, and depending on the success and the response from the community we could add some new Super Blast modes and other experiences in the future.
For now, let me post a BIG THANKS from the UP team for helping us to improve the game. See you in the court :)
UPDATE #6 - BOOOM!
The fifth and last Super Blast Party element is here and is da bomb! This ticking ball warns you constantly that is going to explode very soon. And when it does, I hope it’s not in your side of the court or your opponent will get 3 points!
Just in time for the explosion, we have added rumble support so players will get some feedback when hitting the ball. Or when the bomb explodes :)
Also, lots of font and language fixes, and we add Catalan as a new language. Visca! :D
- added Bomb Ball element to Super Blast Party
- added controller vibration (can be disabled in options)
- added 60 fps cap
- lot of font and language fixes
- added Catalan language
UPDATE #5 - LANGUAGES & DRAGONS
This week we add the new court Beijing starring a beautiful Chinese temple as the main sight. Beware the dragons!
To be honest, we had courts all around the world but we didn’t have too many languages… Time to fix that! We have just added Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese Simplified, Russian, Japanese, French, German and Italian that join the already existent English and Spanish.
Check out the cool funky chinese music of the new court... lot of kung fu vibes on it!
UPDATE #4 - STRICT REFEREE!
In today’s update we bring world’s most strict referee: allows only 2 hits per team!
That means playing volley in a very rushed way. No time to prepare the ball for the best spike or trying complex tricks, only receive and hit back, until someone fails. Try to not be you.
One of my favorites: start a Super Blast Party and mix this 2 hits! element with Icy Floor to create one of the coolest and most difficult ways to play volley.
UPDATE #3 - ICY FLOOR
It's too hot out there, so bring out that ice and lets play some slippy volley!
The third Super Blast Party element is Icy Floor. This one is cool and tricky. Because the low friction and the inertia of all your actions you will have to time your moves differently and think fast to change directions and reach every ball.
As always, mix and match any elements to customize your Super Blast Party and please comment us what do you think about this new crazy mode!
UPDATE #2 - BAD SHAPE
Summer is getting to its end :( We relaxed and enjoyed it a lot. However, that probably means that our body is not in the best condition to play volley. But we want to play it anyway right??
This week we add a new Super Blast Party element: Bad Shape! players will get tired, be slower and have lower reach in their dives after every hit. It's not that bad as energies are recovered after every point.
It's up to you if you want to try a strategy based on returning the ball quick to avoid exhausting the team too fast or you prefer to elaborate a good play to win the point before things get too sweaty.
Remember that you can customize your Super Blast Party stacking more than one element.
UPDATE #1 - HERE COMES A NEW CHICKENGER
Did you beat all your friends in the court? Do you think you are the best volley player around? Don't be so cocky and try to prove it again, this time playing with a chicken as a ball.
In this first update we added the Super Blast Party mode, starting with the Chicken Ball element. The game works the same, except that this living ball will jump in a random direction every now and then. Sometimes will help your team, even saving you from losing a game, but other times you will have to blame the poor chicken.
Pay attention to the sound: the cluck-cluck-cluck frequency can help you to understand better the random jump timings and decide if it's worthy jumping to smash the ball or it's better to stay in the ground in case you need to readapt your position and save a ball.
We hit Early Access to get feedback on those modes so please enjoy them and give us feedback about it :)
Also we worked on/fixed some other stuff. Release notes listed here:
- added Super Blast Party mode, with the Chicken Ball element
- possibility to select avatars for AIs in Quick Match and Super Blast Party modes
- fixed some keyboard redefine keys stuff
- fixed comeback achievement bug
- fixed some UI buttons playing wrong sounds
- changed scores for some challenges
- added achievement icons in the challenges screen
- removed own challenge pop-ups. We already have the Steam ones!
