Level redesign

It's been a year since the first beta version.One year ago, I was not very good at the level design and the maps I made were just some randomly assembled block, they were gameplay repeating and not very interesting. So I decide to rebuild them from scratch now. I try to make the map more interactive and varied, the result is quite satisfying to me. Since it may take much longer time to finish all the maps, in order to not keep you guys waiting forever, I decide to seperate the update into half, now you can try out some of the new maps. If you have any suggestion, feel free to leave a comment below.

New map Series: "Digging"

A new series of destructable maps.

This series of maps implement a new system where you can dig into the terrain. You can ues new fighting strategies such as sneaking from the ground to the enemy's back to give him a suprise attack, or digging a hole to escape from the enemy.The gameplay is very different and interesting. Try it out with your friends, I'm very looking forward to your feedback :).

Network Simulation rebuild

Rebuild the whole game with the new network physics simulation method. Significantly reduce network latency on client side.

Game optimization

The game frame rate has Increased by 60%~120%

Game Saved directory has been move to .../Users/AppData/Local/SuperSmash/Saved.
When you launch the game it will automatically migrate your saving data(player setttings and custom maps) to the new place.
If your maps disappear, you will have to manually copy the folder from (your game directory)/SuperSmash/Saved to the new save directory, paste and override it, it should be fixed.

LevelEditor Update

You can make your own map with the level editor now!

Guide:
Left mouse buttonL: Select and edit
Right mouse button: Rotate the view
RMB+W,S,A,D: Move camera arround
RMB+Shift,Spacebar: Move camera up and down
Number 1: Edit location
Number 2: Edit rotation
Number 3: Edit scale
Tab: Toggle between world space and object space
Ctrl+Z: Undo action
Ctrl+C: Copy
Ctrl+V: Paste
Ctrl+D: Duplicate(which means:Copy+Paste)
Click with Shift key down can select multiple objects.

Over the viewport you can change the snapping setting,the text will turn into red when the snapping is enabled.
On the down left corner, you can set up the weapon spawn rate, but dont forget to drag at least one "Weapon Spawn Area" into the world to make it work.you can click hide or show to change visibility of all Weapon Spawn Areas in the world.




AI update 2.0

After days of hard work, I finally finish the new AI.ːsteamhappyːYou can play alone with AI now if you didnt find a match.

New AI:
Can pick up and use all kinds of weapons
Can navigate around edge
No longer team up together

The 2 weapons are way below my expectation,they are kind of useless in combat.



Maps change:
Laser maps:
replace some laser with larger radius tunnel, so you can go up much more easier.



Space maps:
After I try out the space maps, I think they didnt do very well on gameplay(althought they do look pretty).One reason is players' body part often block by the props, it results in bad movement feeling.And fighting is terrible in space, it's very hard to hit other player whatever you use weapon or fist,because they are flying so fast and it's impossible to aim them.Also many weapon cant use indoor, they become totally useless in space maps.

So, I come out with the new idea of space map:
System adjust: No gravity change to low gravity,and slow down some movement speed
Map structure:Setting up a border arroud the combat zone, player get kill when they get out,so every weapon is usable now in space.





I know currently they are not as pretty as before, but I believe they can do much better on gameplay.Check this out and leave me some feedback, this is not the final version and I will keep working on it.

Maps Update 2

Maps:
-Remove Air Tunnel Series, replace with new Series:"Space"(No gravity)









-Adjust some annoying maps
-Reduce chances of penetrating through wall in first series

-Fix some red/blue grenade bug
-Fix Cambot snapping wrong direction
-Increase red/blue grenade,Slime-Portion,Freeze-Portion hit collision area
