Hotfix & improvements

Hello everyone, here is a small update to fix some stuff.

First of all, I decided to move the x32bit version with the x64bit.
The x64bit has better performances and most of the people should have a x64bit windows. So now, the main version is in x64bit.
The x32bit version is still available in the beta section, you just have to select the version you want to have.

Improvements
- bigger wormholes in the wormhole game mode
- in wormhole game mode, wormholes are now aligned and remain like this
- pause menu now shows the inputs for the keyboard if no gamepad is plugged and for gamepad if at least one gamepad is plugged

Bugs fixed

- some bricks in the brick breaker mode can no longer ignore the ball
- added back the missing sound when you pause or unpause the game
- some spells can no longer be mixed with chaos game mode maluses

Hotfix for a crash

Hello,

This hotfix should fix the crash at the end of each game if one player was not getting any medal.
It also fixes players receiving a medal by doing nothing (for example if nobody used spells, everybody would get a "magician" medal reward)

Don't forget to enjoy the outside world too, summer is hot but evenings are good.

Multiple fixes

Hello, I noticed some major and minor bugs that had to be fixed as soon as possible.
If one of them is still active, please report it.

Fixed (major)
- bombs not respawning if playing in brick breaker game mode
- curved balls getting stuck in wormholes
- chaos game mode not working

Fixed (minor)
- smash medal sometimes not given
- crash if no malus is available in chaos game mode
- medals better spaced for readability
- some spell description length

Better boss, score screen & fixes

Score screen improvements :



added the players racquets to the score screen
added a "number of spells used" section to the score screen
added a "goal" section to the score screen (goals that were made with this player being the last one to touch the ball before it goals)
added colors to make it look better and more readable
added medals to honor players who did nice actions
added a crown on the winner


- the jokari elastic is now bigger or thinner depending of the ball's distance from the center
- visual states were given to the boss depending of his current HP
- increased the boss difficulty (more balls !)
- reduced the boss HP by 5



Changes:
reduced the waiting time between ball launch
added an animation on the launching menu to better understand where your player will be placed in the game (it actually follows the positioning logic of the menu but everybody is always lost about it so this might help)

- optimisations through the game

Bugs fixed :
fixed a bug preventing musics to be played if you were using the option "same music as the map
the arrow showing the ball's direction will now show the right side during the 360° malus in chaos game mode
fixed pause buttons disappearing if you clicked anywhere else than on the buttons
fixed the bomb timer not starting in boss game mode





Suprapong 2.0 is live !

In this Supraday I'm proud to say the 2.0 leave the beta and replace the default / vanilla game !

Experience new powers, new gamemodes, game changes and more.



With this update there is few fixes from the last beta version :
- fixed a memory leak for the GPU
- fixed a crash in survival mode

If you never tried the beta, you'll notice many changes. New content of course but the new menus are also looking much better and are easier to move through.



I'm excited to get feedbacks. If you speak other languages than French or English and if you have the will to spend 10 minutes to create a translation file for the game, it would be much appreciated.

Languages

Hello everybody,

Since the beta of the 2.0, the game was exclusively in English. With this update, it is opened to every language (with european letters and without any special characters, the font used for the game won't accept any).

- French language added
- added the possibility to add any language
- bug fixed : the arrows are not disappearing inversaly to the minimum / maximum option in the option menu if you click on it with the mouse

If you speak more than one language, you are free (and it would in fact be very appreciated) to add more languages. It should take you around 10 minutes.

To do this, all you have to do is to look into the game fileholder:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Suprapong

Open the file languages.ini then under [languages_names] add a line with a number greater than the other languages with the name of the new language in English (with the first letter as a capital letter).
For example :
2="Spanish"

Then, copy-paste the "menus" file of your choice to use it as a base and change its name depending of the new language.
Example :
- copy-paste -> "menus_English.txt"
- Change its name in "menus_Spanish.txt"

Open the renamed file and translate any text on the right side of the "=" (between " ") and don't touch anything between the [ ].
If you change something on the left side of the "=" this part will automatically come back into English language ingame.

Beta Hotfix

Before the release and the end of the beta, some more fix and some improvements for the brick breaker game mode.


- procedural brick breaker
You'll no longer experience 10 ball spawns or only racquet reducing maluses because of some bad random. Now the bricks with effects are created through procedural calculations.


Bug fixes :
- the ball no longer stop spawning in brick breaker survival after a player was removed
- player 0 can no longer be removed in brick breaker survival, resulting in a match between AI... with no ball to play.
- customization elements are no longer given with 1 level of delay
- the main menu no longer appear when you press F12 to see the inputs. It can also no longer be clocked resulting in some unwanted behavior in the inputs menu.
- the bouncing angle of the angle bumpers is now updated after they moved in survival


To chase some last bugs, we will stay in beta for now but there is one thing for sure, the final release have never been so close.

Beta: new game mode and new ball type

This is probably one of my last update before the public release (out of beta).

So what can you expect in this (supra !) update ?


- New game mode : Brick Breaker
break the bricks to get bonuses... or maluses !




- New ball type : Jokari
It is attracted to the middle of the arena



- AI racquets can now use spells and ball effects. They will only use spells if they are above difficulty 1

- Optimisations here and there


Changes (and improvements) :
- the boss is now 25% smaller so the balls will touch him less often (it doesn't make him hard to miss)
- improved the ice trail when a ball is frozen
- pause screen background is now darkened
- added some effects when you use a spell or at the end of its cooldown
- bumper angles height has been decreased by 40%. It is now easier to catch the ball before them and they take less space in the arena. Also their angle has been changed, they will less often send the ball to goal on the side where they stand and it also prevent them to inifinitely send a ball between them until a player or another element changes the direction of the ball.


fixes :
- the barrier spell now use the right sprite in 3 and 6 players mode
- the xp blue racquet in the menu and score screen is no longer inverted
- any player can now pause the game by pressing start with gamepads
- the bomb ball no longer continue to decrease its timer if it goals normally (without exploding)
- you can no longer free yourself sooner from ice
- you can no longer pause the game after the final goal
- improved and fixed the maluses anouncement in chaos
- pause screen is no longer ugly if it was rotating when you paused (chaos game mode)
- fixed some effects on the spells UI happening at a wrong location
- players on the right (and ai) can no longer teleport
- the player 0 can no longer leave its side
- joysticks can be used on the score screen
- joystick dead axis has been increased to prevent pressing down or up instead of left and right, and vice versa
- fixed the spells interface in the launching menu (mouse and gamepad)

Fixes, optimisations and graphical improvements (beta)

Hello everyone,

After the last beta update, some annoying bugs happened.
This update should fix the most of them.

Also, the maps neon and stars were improved

Graphical changes:
- neons of the Neon map look more... neon.
- Nebulas can appear on the Stars map. Shiny !
- added a trail on the players movements.
- Smoothed the ball's trail.
- improved the player's reactor's particles



Optimisations :
- the Stars map will now spawn less stars with low graphical options
- the Clouds map will now spawn less Clouds with low graphical options
- 100 fps were saved in the launching menu


bug fixed :
GAME :
- player 1 can no longer visit other player's side
- with the survival option, players should now have the right electricity color on their side
- globule bringing a ball in a wormhole won't stuck it anymore

SCORE SCREEN
- rewards obtained with level up are now showed correctly
- fixed a level up bug
- fixed a level up crash
- fixed the way the xp is counted

LAUNCHING MENU CUSTOMIZATION
- colors can now be opened again with the gamepad
- fixed the unwanted transparency
- gamepads plugged or unplugged will take effect on the player menus

Survival

Hello everyone,

Today we release the last version of Suprapong in Beta. If you want to access the beta, the password is : suprapongbeta

This update includes :

- a lot of bug fixes
- some graphical improvements in trail effects
- some optimisations

but more important, 2 new options that you could previously see but not activate are now live :
- Survival (in the launching menu) : when a player reach 0 HP, instead of bringing you to the score screen you'll know see him be kicked out and the game will continue. If the last real player loose or if there is only 1 players left it will of course end the game.

- Accelerating ball (in the game options) : each time the ball bounces on something, its speed will increase by 4%. In 10 bounces, its base speed and smash speed will increase by 40% !

These are optional and are deactivated by default. If you want them, don't forget to activate them !

Don't forget to use the new "ball effect" system !
RB / LB on gamepad, A / E by default on the keyboard when you touch a ball.



An improvement of the spells selection : you can now see the list of the spells by validating the selected spell, making it faster and easier to find the spell you are looking for.

You can now see a list of the controls in the menu. Also, key rebinding is available (only for the keyboard as we are quite happy with gamepad controls).

This update brings us closer to the final release of this beta version. Don't forget to report bugs on our discord or sharing your thought / ideas.

Here is a little list of some small changes in this version you might be interested in :
- most of the spells creating something (wormhole, bumper...) now last longer
- wormholes are now twice bigger, touching the ball more often
- in the wormhole game mode, the wormholes now rotate in a different way. Hard to explain but you'll see that ingame. Tell us if you like it that way !
- the bumper game mode have seen his number of bumpers increased from 7 to 9 (it might not seem to be a lot but keep in mind it increases the chances to touch something on the border by 50%, you'll notice the difference)
- the ball trails have been reduced to prevent them from being too long with speed increase
- whatever their speed the balls trails will now look more like a line than separated spots
- fixed a bug with teleporting IA
- the controls adapt to the player's position
