Unlock Your Potential
When Survive the Fall will be released (which will happen sooner than you think, but we will announce that properly at a later date), you can look forward to a variety of gameplay elements. But today we don’t want to talk about the realtime-fighting system, that will give you an optional pause, in which you can give commands to your companions in order to gain the upper hand. We also will not talk about the deep crafting system. No. We won’t.
And we will not dive into more info about the basebuilding process - but only because we did so already here.
No. Today we want to talk about a different aspect: Research and the tech tree.
When you are on your expeditions, you can find and loot certain knowledge items, which can be analzyed in the camp to gain science points. These points then can be invested to progress in the extensive techtree.
And when we say ’extensive' we actually mean it.
There are close to 200 items in six tiers that you can unlock. And each of them will be helpful either to enhance your camp, your crafting capabilities or strengthen your chances of survival out on your expeditions.
If you use/unlock them all, it is fully up to you, though.
We can’t wait to show you more of the game.

When the exploration of the beautiful, yet very dangerous locations in Survive the Fall takes its toll on the characters you control, it is wise to call it a day and return to the base.
Forget about being close to Death’s door, when you get the care you need at the medical point, which is part of the Lab in the structures you can build in your settlement.
Other options you have at camp (next to resting both mind and body, so you can go on your next vital expedition) is the workshop, where you’ll eventually be able to melt metals to suit your equipment needs or can enhance your weapons, so you pack a punch the next time you see yourself face to face with one of the many enemy factions.
And nobody will survive if there is no food. So let your fellow survivors work in the farm or in the kitchen, so everybody stays healthy, strong and positive. And if everything goes south, drown your sorrows with some produce from the distillery.
Or as a wise person once said:” Keep calm and scavenge on!”

Demo Update!
Hey Survivors!
We're thrilled to announce a major update to the Survive the Fall demo, packed with improvements based on your invaluable feedback. Before diving into the details, we want to highlight a crucial point: old saves will not be compatible with this update. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you'll start fresh and share your thoughts on the new changes.
Key Improvements
Looting Process Enhancements
Automatic Resource Collection: Resources gathered by companions are now automatically collected without switching to the loot window.
HUD Display: Collected resources are now displayed directly on the HUD.
UI and Animation Upgrades: Enjoy smoother and more satisfying interactions with updated animations and UI changes.
Visual Feedback: Improved visual effects for accelerated looting (hold "F").
Key Binding Update: Changed the default “Take All” bind from "A" to "R" to avoid confusion with movement controls.
Tool Availability Notes: Clear indicators if a required tool is not available or if it’s in the backpack but not equipped.
Loot Type Indicators: Containers now show the type of loot they contain, like "scavenge chemicals" or "scavenge food".
Item Merging: Items found in containers will automatically merge with items in your inventory.
Combat Improvements
Target Indicators: Clear UI indicators show the enemy you’re currently focused on and which enemy is fighting you.
Aiming Options: Multiple new aiming methods for ranged weapons are now available. Check out the showcase here.
Melee Combat Enhancements: Added snapping to enemies, warning animations, and increased zoning distance to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Damage Reactions: New hit reaction animations, specific to weapon types, to add more depth to combat.
Companion Combat AI: Companions will now target opponents not actively engaged with you.
Dynamic Attacks: Added leg animations for melee attacks, making them look more dynamic.
Improved Shooting Mechanics: Shots from ranged weapons now pass through companions correctly, enhancing combat flow.
Enemy Engagement Limits: Only two enemies will attack the controlled character at once, excluding ranged attackers.
Camp Improvements
Tutorial Tweaks: Small adjustments to the tutorial for a smoother start.
Automatic Equipping: Companions are now automatically equipped for expeditions, though players can still customize their loadout.

Demo Duration: +2 Hours We're amazed at the dedication of our testers, with some playing the demo for up to 15 hours! However, on average, you can expect a solid 2-hour gameplay experience. Just enough to get a taste of what's in store for you in the full version.
