2016-08-09

  • System menu - Fixed label on controller graphic.

  • Tweaked weapon and player impact particles.
  • Added kill credits to the last player to damage victim for knock out of arena kills.
  • Fixed so that kill credit is not awarded for self kills.
  • Adjusted player tutorial bubble pickup/drop to show less often.

  • Fixed weapon SFX not triggering on collisions with environment in White Peak level.

Hey everyone!

We've made the "How to play" info show up the first time you run Swordy (until we have an in-game tutorial) as we were finding some players were missing it... and missing out of dual wielding!

The "How to play" panel is also made to be the first selected panel in the System Menu. It won't show up automatically again after the first run, so hopefully its not annoying. Let us know!

We added kill credits for players getting bashed out of arenas for Deathmatch - we saw several Lets Play videos pointing this out! We also stopped kill credits for self kills (two players holding the same weapon and one is killed by it).

Tweaked the tutorial pop-up bubble to show up less often and other viarious tweaks and fixes.

This is sort of wrapping up immediate patch upates as we are now starting work on SWORDY's first major update ("every 4 to 6 weeks")! We are however still trying to nail down that "random" crash - very sorry if you have been affected by it. Its been troublesome to nail down the source but we are on it.

We are also testing 4+ player support via "DirectInput" - if you have the means and do want to help test it for us you just need to change branches in the SWORDY's "BETAS" tab of the properties in Steam.

To change branches in Steam:

  1. Go to your LIBRARY.
  2. Find and right click on Swordy.
  3. Left click on "Properties".
  4. In the "Properties" pop-up window: left click on the "BETAS" tab.
  5. In the dropdown select the "directinput" branch.
  6. Left click the "CLOSE" button to close the "Properties" window.

Steam should then update Swordy to the "directinput" branch. To confirm: run the game, press select/view/share (System menu) and in the top right it should say "Version 0.1.05 DirectInput test".

Keep the feedback coming in!

SWORDY Updated (Version 0.1.03)

Version 0.1.03
EA Release - version 1 - patch 3
2016-07-28

  • Fixed bug causing victory screen to remain black.
  • Changed weapon load-outs to be unique in each arena.
  • Adjusted weapon scales to improve weapon balancing.
  • Added player colors to their statues in last man standing victory screen.
  • Changed “How to play” to be first selected section in system menu.
  • Added “B”/”Circle” button to close system menu, pause menu and feedback/bug form.
  • Added information about connected gamepad devices to logging.
  • Fixed so that game-camera will not move if any menu open.
  • Fixed blood puddle appearing on walls (projecting upward).

  • Added dual wielding tutorial sign to Camp level.
  • Added right stick tutorial sign for color changer in Camp level.
  • Fixed missing physics materials on White Peak level.
  • Fixed flag orientation on White Peak level.

This patch should now have the major common bugs covered. Please do let us know if you encounter any more though!

We've adjusted some of the weapon scales - please give us some feedback on this.

Let us know what you think of the new (small) jump challenge in the camp. This greatly reduces the emphasis on plaforming - as there isn't much at all in the rest of the game. As a by product the training area is much less cluttered.

As usual: keep the feedback coming!

Thanks!

The Frogshark team.
