The official release of SynCo 2321 is growing closer and I wanted to share the news! A firm date is not yet established but should be within the next two weeks.
"Why hasn't SynCo 2321 already been released?"
When SynCo 2321 was added to Steam I wanted to make sure all of the steps required to launch on the platform were completed. This was accomplished but as a requirement Steam asks for a launch date. While it would be possible to have released the base game at the date selected, it was more important to me that the game have an increased level of content before offering the game to players. As a gamer myself I felt it was important to meet a certain level of playability before opening the development process up by beginning Early Access.
SynCo 2321 version 0.42 dev log
It has been a while since an update has been added to Steam for testing. SynCo 2321 has been going through the ringer to ensure optimization goals are being met. Additional story content has been added but is currently limited to one possible outcome. It is important to note that the story implemented in the game is in draft form and subject to revision.
Rendering optimization of 3d models to improve gameplay stability.
Chapter 1 Act 1 - basic story arc drafted(playable but without meaningful choice options implemented.) Chapter 1 Act 2 - Kira plot line 70% completed. No love for Russell at this time. Reduced AI difficulty for Chapter 1 mobs for testing. Updated 25% of map to improve character motion and interaction with environment. Introduced new AI mechanics to be used for boss encounter (not accessible to players in 0.42) Minor bug fixes.

Adjustments to display for conversation dialog to permit more space.
Ashville map locomotion events expanded to include more of the map expanding from the start position.
Added Early Access load screen

Gave the zombies some basic spatial sounds.
Gate closed to prevent reentry to bunker location after leaving.
Created Toxic region bounding radius to keep players from map edges.(Not enabled in 0.37)

Updated starting ammo to 30 + 8 in clip to offset starting challenge.
Updated loot drop for Chapter 1 Act 1 to lower med kit drops and increase handgun ammo drops.
