Back home. My computer and HMD have been in storage for over a month now.
I'm in my old room, spent 13 years between these walls.
While I was away my father rearranged the furniture. The new layout generates a constant sense of strangeness.
Luckily, a new chapter is about to begin. A new job in a new city. I've built my career using the tools this company creates.
I sometimes think of SD as a time capsule for my memories. I've got some videos I'd like to add. Currently experimenting with media playback.
October Update
I'm having trouble finding a tone for these updates. I've been writing monthly updates on itch.io for 1.5 years, most of those read like a journal entry.
Lets just try to find our flow state. Where words come unmediated by conceptions of what a "Steam Update" should be. ;-)
I'm currently in limbo right now. Writing this from a basement living room. One path leads to Bellevue, the other leads East. There's a third path somewhere out there too...
In our HMDs each pixel is composed of 3 sub-pixels, Red Green Blue. When viewing different colors, you see different patterns in the pixels. I've created an environment for enjoyment and exploration of this phenomena.
When I attended SVVR, I got body-scanned by Artec3d. 5$ to download the .obj (Free to view on web)
Meet my flesh avatar - Monochrome GIF to shield you guys from the Uncanny Valley ;-)
I'm unsure how I'll incorporate this into SD. My entire ABOUT section is due for a redesign...
September Update
First Steam update!
Now all of the INTRO experiences are grouped closer together.
Also, I've added blockouts of my Irvine and Duvall rooms. (Accessable through Anaheim Hills by looking at bedroom door, or out to the patio door) I'm not sure I'll be adding any more detail to these. They mostly serve as a way for me to remember the size and shape of places I've occupied.
Hands-Free Quit/Return Functionality - Just look above you to initiate a return to the hub, or to quit if you're already in the hub. (This functionality unlocks after you've completed INTRO)
Random feature: Press CTRL + L at any time to show a Location Debug Widget!
