System Siege No Longer Under Development

Hey everyone, we've had to make the tough call recently to stop all development on the game. We haven't been actively developing it in almost a year now, and so had to make the call one way or the other, and unfortunately for where we are right now, this seems to be the right move.

Because of this, we'll be delisting the game on steam in a couple weeks. Thank you to all our fans and followers who supported us through the development. We may return to it at some point in the future, but not any time soon.

Dev Update #1

As you may know, we launched System Siege in early access on the 12th of June; hopefully many of you have gotten your hands on it and played it a bit. We are committed to providing updates to the game to make it more enjoyable for you to play, but also so that we can see it reach a more finished state along the lines of what we originally envisioned.

Over the next few months we’ll be working on an update to the game that will add some things that people really want, and things that we’ve heard a bit about since we’ve launched the game.

Campaign

The biggest piece of feedback we’ve gotten since launching the game, is that there isn’t enough single-player content. So not only are we working to add more missions, we’re also going to be taking a pass at the design of the campaign. We’re hoping to add in more mission objectives, and optional missions that will affect the results of the campaign. We want it to feel like you can choose how you progress through the story, instead of just making it a linear set of missions.

We’re also looking to add in more android commanders and android units. Android units will be completely different from the existing units, and will be available in both single-player and multiplayer.

Lastly, we’ll be adding more tilesets to the game so that you have different environments to play with. Similar to how now we have the earth-like tile set, and the lava planet tileset.

Multiplayer

We plan to add the following to multiplayer over the next few months: turn timers, and statistics.

Turn timers are something we knew we had to have in the game if we want multiplayer to be taken seriously. Right now, you can hold onto your turn indefinitely with no penalty. While this isn’t problem when playing with friends, this prevents any sort of competitive matches from being played. We currently plan to set the timer to 2 and a half minutes.

Also, we want to add some sort of progression system to reward players who have played a lot of multiplayer matches. In order to start tracking that information now, we’re going to add in stats. When you win a match or lose a match, the game will keep track of it. We’ll probably also keep track of some other stats as well.

We plan to have all these features completed for Fall 2018. To stay up to date on our progress, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Discord!
