Ready, set, go! We got your feedback, and we have improved the game. Here's what got fixed:
We got reports that some users' log files were being clogged. We believe we have now solved the issue but, if it persists, let us know.
Fixed a problem that caused the creation of thousands of orphan nodes which impacted performance. Now the orphans are dead.
Fixing the previous two bugs also increased the stability.
There was a bug where Adam could walk to the outside the realms of the game, straight into the limbo of nothingness. This has been now fixed.
All cutscenes now reset properly. If the player is captured and sent back in the level before the cutscene was triggered, it will not cause problems.
Solved a problem where, If Turbo got caught by two drones at the same time, the threat level would be red perpetually. Now that should not happen anymore (unless you want it to happen, then we can make it a feature)
What fixes, improvements, or additions would you like to see next? You can tell us here on Steam, privately by email, or on our various social media channels:
We hear you, and we are ready with the first series of bug fixes of the Early Access.
In this patch, we have fixed:
A problem with the HUD being invisible on some devices.
Improved the UI of the various menus, including of the in-game tablet and the comic book.
Fixed a bug with the tutorial buttons, and added more to explain how to use the in-game items.
Added a simple settings menu allowing the player to tweak the music and sound effect volume; the game might temporarily sound louder while a level is loading, but the correct sound level should play a few seconds after.
General graphical and stability fixes; there was a problem with empty objects being rendered without need, which has now been solved.

System Under Surveillance is now available in Early Access!
We are extremely excited to announce the Early Access release of System Under Surveillance, a huge milestone for us as a small, independent (and self-funded) game studio. We want to sincerely thank all those who decide to purchase the game and be the firsts to experience the adventure, and because of that we are offering a 25% discount to early adopters.
The Early Access version includes
4 levels of increased difficulty, each introducing a new mechanic or enemy;
14 unlockable comic book pages, hand drawn in pixel art, and showcasing the initial backstory of the two heroes;
unlockable lore, providing and optional insight inside the game's universe, and the politics which lead to the widespread corruption in New Eden. The lore is unlockable by using the Data Cubes collectable in each level.
an original retro-style soundtrack, with a unique piece for each level composed by our talented sound designer.
What's next for System Under Surveillance?
Our immediate focus after release is you, the player. We are looking forward to listen to your feedback and bug reports, and dedicated to work on improving the game based on your input.
We also invite you to join a conversation with us, and together decide what type of content to focus on next. Do you want us to focus even more on the retro-style graphics? Or perhaps you want more challenging puzzles to solve? Or maybe you are experiencing a particular bug on your system? In any case, join our Community Hub here on Steam.
Together, we can make a great game!
A new playtesting session is in progress!
We are excited to announce that a new playtest session has started! We have received over 120 interested participants, and we have granted access to all of them.
So, what are you waiting for? We're excited to receive your feedback: your opinion will help shape the final design of the game!
Thank you all for helping us, it's going to be an amazing journey!
If you have any problems with the game or access to it, give us a shout on our social media or here on Steam. We're happy to help.
June update: steam page and level design
This month we have finally published our Steam page. We want to thank everyone who decided to add our game to their wishlist or join our community. Being an extremely small team, we faced a lot of challenges, but what motivated us the most was seeing the constructive feedback (both positive and negative) that the community has given us on our various channels.
Now we are working hard on designing conceptually each level. The levels will interactively tell the story of Adam and TURBO, accompanied by detailed pixel art comic-style panels.
Why are Adam and TURBO alone in this dystopian city? Who are these entities trying to capture them? Why does this metropolis appear so desolated? Can a simple boy and his old rusty robot survive in this environment, and for how long?
In the meantime, here's some more gameplay footage. While the footage in question is quite action focused, the final game will balance well exploration, stealth, and action (without combat obviously, SUS has no combat system!).
