The Competition Begins!

A godly contest has erupted in the heavens. You, as a glorious combatant, are now eligible to receive up to three exclusive masks. All you have to do is place in the top 100 players on our weekly leaderboard. The contest begins today (May 20th) and will continue until next Sunday (May 26th) at midnight UTC; at which point the leaderboards will refresh, and the top players will receive their prize. The top 100 will earn the Witch Hat. The top 50 will earn an additional mask, the Cogbot. Finally, the top 10 players will earn a final, additional exclusive mask, the Warbear!

You can preview the prize masks on our recent news page here on Steam. You can also see them in game in your Realm. Just click the arrow to the right on the main menu and you can see your collection of masks. On the collection screen, you'll find another button at the top right to switch to the competition masks. Check them out!

Version 1.0 is here - Patch Notes - May 16th, 2019

Today, May 16th, we've officially left early access behind and have released version 1.0 of Tabletop Gods!

Launch Week!

Coming with the full release, we've got a couple of events lined up that perhaps some of you will be interested in. Starting today, Tabletop Gods will be free to play from May 16th to 19th! Head over to our store page and download it for free! You can play our free weekend until midnight on May 19th on Steam! Hop into the game and give it a whirl.
We do have a Discord as well that makes it slightly easier for people to find a match during the quieter times of the day. We also talk about a lot of strategies, updates, future content, and other random things throughout the day. You can find that at discord.gg/tabletopgods

SALE!

Along with the launch of our official release, we're going on sale! For the first week of full release, Tabletop Gods will be 25% off for anyone who purchases on Steam, Viveport, or the Oculus Store!

Going on from there, the fine folks over at Humble Bundle have given us a nice spot in their storefront where you can get two copies of the game for $29.99. That means you save 25% on both copies if you buy two!

Competition for Exclusive Content

We’ve been talking about holding a tournament or contest in game for a long time and we have finally decided to do it! We’ll be using our weekly in-game leaderboard to give each player a chance at winning up to three unique masks, available to earn only during this limited time contest.

Starting next Monday, May 20th, we will be holding a seven day contest where your position on our leaderboard could earn you a special prize. The following Sunday, May 26th, at midnight, when the weekly leaderboard rolls over for a new week, all players that end in the top 100 places on the leaderboard will all earn up to three unique masks to wear in game.

The third place prize will be awarded to the top 100 players at the end of the week. They will receive this exclusive Witch Hat!

The second place prize, in addition to the third place prize will be awarded to the top 50 players at the end of the week. They’ll receive this exclusive Cogbot mask!

Finally, the top 10 players, in addition to the second and third place prize masks, will receive this one time only, exclusive, exceptionally rare War Bear mask.

How do I compete?

It’s easy! All you have to do is play Tabletop Gods against other players in public arenas. All points that you earn in public arenas are scored on our weekly leaderboard. Starting Monday, May 20th, all points earned will be counted on a fresh leaderboard. On the following Monday, May 27th, when the learboard has rolled over for a new week, all players that ended in the top 100 places on the leaderboard will instantly receive their prizes!

Who can compete?

Anyone that is not a developer on our team that owns the game on either Steam, Viveport, or Oculus Home. All you need is to be able to play throughout the week of the contest.

Will you ever do this again?

Absolutely! If this contest is met with enough positive feedback, we will definitely consider holding more, similar contests.

Weekly Meetups!

Each week we get together to live stream and compete against each other for the weekly title of MVP. The prize is bragging rights and a shiny gold title in our Discord server. This is only the beginning of what we hope to do. As our player count increases, we'd love to host more formal contests with prizes. Like we said before, the number of different strategies myself and the community have come up with over the last few months range from precise and effective to "so crazy it works".

Here's a clip from one of those meetups:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebGXE_LSMr0&t=2s

Some of our favourite moments come from players shouting with excitement as the games proceed into a tense Sudden Death after the normal timer expires. It's a lot of fun to get together with the players each week, and we want even more players to get in on the fun.

What's next?

We still have ideas planned for new features, such as new troops, spells and traps and other things to keep gameplay fresh. As more players become interested in taking part in our weekly event, we will be hosting more events to reach out to players in different time zones who can't always make it to our usual meetup.

Give it a go! There'll be plenty of frenetic action for everyone during our free weekend. This weekend only!

Patch notes - v0.9.277 - April 17th, 2018

Patch notes - v0.9.277 - April 17th, 2018

1. Trials Mode matches now have a RESTART option so you can instantly restart a match that you're hopelessly losing ;).

2. VR Players:
a) More control options: Four different options for what the "forward" direction is - i.e. what direction you'll move when you push up on the left controller: (Option 1, the new default) Your facing direction, (Option 2, the previous default) The direction arrow on the floor, (Options 3+4) your left or right hand pointing direction (some people like this method, apparently). We've updated the SETTINGS screen to accommodate this addition.

b) You can have the option to dock the deploy menu to your off-hand! Docked is the default setting

3. Non-VR Players
a) ESC key now takes you back to the previous menu page rather than the QUIT page

b) Removed personal space settings. We figured they weren't very important for non-VR players.

4. AI Gods now have their correct names in Skirmish and Trials modes.

5. TROOP updates:
a) Demon Mage's attack area has been reduced

b) Demon Mage's Codex stats now reflect the correct data :)

c) A Demon Lord bug in its flight logic has been fixed

d) The Demon Lord's melee attack is now arc limited (i.e. it can no longer hit enemies behind it!)

e) The max number of targets that a Behemoth can inflict damage on in a single attack has been reduced to 6.

f) The Behemoth's guarding behavior has been improved.

g) War Clerics following behavior has been improved

h) War Clerics healing ability and XP gain has been nerfed.

i) Archers XP gain has been nerfed.

j) Ice Golems XP gain has been nerfed.

k) Witch's attack range and AoE, speed, turn speed, health and curse duration have all been buffed to varying degrees.

l) We fixed an issue where skeletons were dying unexpectedly.

6. Distance indicators on ranged towers, troops and spells is now more accurate

7. multiple AI improvements

8. Demon table geometry has had subtle changes to allow easier placement of towers.

9. Light maps in all arenas have been improved

10. Level 3 is a lie. Always has been. Always will be. But MAN.... It tastes so good...

Patch notes - v0.9.266 - Mar 28st, 2019

1. Troop XP has been tweaked to [hopefully] smooth out the previous variance in ramping depending on the opposing faction. The intention is that troops shouldn't level up at horribly different rates when playing against different factions.

2. Miscellaneous bug fixes.

3. We've decide to go all 8-bit on the new Level 3. Being oldskool, I personally feel more comfortable with this new direction.

Patch notes - v0.9.263 - Mar 21st, 2019

Patch notes - v0.9.263 - Mar 21st, 2019

1. VR - INFO on troops, towers, traps and spells now added when playing in VR! You can turn the info text on/off as you like using the checkbox!

2. NonVR - In the Prepare For War phase, the "CHANGE Troop + Spells" and "READY" buttons have been given a face-lift in an attempt to make them more
obvious. We slightly updated the READY button in VR too, just so it didn't feel left out...

3. NEW TRIALS! Two more Trials (each containing 8 matches) have been added for your single-player pleasure!

4. FRENCH language is now fixed! Our apologies to French players who
couldn't progress beyond starting a match :frowning:

5. Many miscellaneous bug fixes.

6. The new Level 3's graphics are coming along nicely. They're a bit slack at the moment, but nothing a bit of tightening up won't fix.

BRAND NEW FACTION!

Patch notes - v0.9.248 - Mar 13th, 2019

1. THE DEMONS HAVE ARRIVED! Behold! A whole new faction for you to take to war! The Demons are a race from another dimension, who have for a long maintained a steady peace with Humankind. But, the machinations of the Dark God and the uprising of the Netherrealm has brought all three factions to war. The new demon troops are as follows:

Reavers - A melee unit with a cleave attack that excels at knocking down structures.

Worms - The Demon's ranged sentry unit. Its attacks don't a great deal of immediate damage, but they do leave a their victims suffering from a NASTY health-sapping damage-over-time effect.

Behemoths - The Demon faction's 'heavy' unit, but the reverse of the Undead's Shambling Hulks! This guy ONLY attacks troops, not structures, mopping up swathes of weaker enemies. An excellent guard troop, he'll defend nearby friendly troops or, failing that, retreat to the nearest friendly Stronghold.

Mage - She has a long charge up which then rips open a rift in space that starts attacking nearby troops and structures. She'll hold the rift open as long as there are targets close enough to attack.

Demon Lord - Flies from battle-to-battle, covering large distances quickly. When in range of his target he'll smash down onto them with a BOOM! on enemy units.

And, along with the new troops come three new Demon structures:

Rage Totem - 'Enrages' any friendly troops deployed within its range. Enraged troops lose a little health, but become faster, attack harder, and hit more frequently.

Vortex Cannon - Attacks enemy troops. Deal less damage than the human Cannon Tower, but has a larger damage splash radius.

Rift Bombard - Short ranged, but great for destroying the enemy's structures.

2. NEW TABLETOP BATTLEFIELD! The demons bring with them a brand-new tabletop battlefield to fight on! The Void Temple has multiple lanes that you'll be challenged to protect making the decision as to whether you should defend, or go on the attack, that much more tricky.

3. NEW TRIALS! With the arrival of the Demon faction, we've added two new trials, featuring the aforementioned faction, for you to enjoy. There will be more trials on the way later , so stay tuned!

4. INFO PANEL! In nonVR, players can now see information about their troops, towers, traps and spells as they play. This information is intended primarily for new players, but may give existing players some hints and tips as to how to improve their game. You can turn toggle the info panel on/off by checking the INFO button. VR players will be getting similar functionality soon(TM).

5. Level 3 apparently morphed into a brand new table! Phew! Well done QA for polishing up those graphics! We're currently looking for a new level 3 that's in need of some polishing...

Patch notes - v0.9.243 - Mar 4th, 2019

Patch notes - v0.9.243 - Mar 4th, 2019

1. NEW FEATURE: LEADERBOARDS All multiplayer matches throughout the week are now tabulated and added to the Weekly Leaderboards, which can be viewed in your Realm (just to the right of the main menu scroll) or in a Multiplayer Arena (click on the LEADERBOARDS on the top-right of the arena display). Leaderboards reset each week on Sunday at midnight UTC. The player with the most points is crowned reigning champion and will receive a crown that floats above their mask for the duration of the week, showing off their glorious status to all challengers!

2. NEW FEATURE: MORTAL CAM Spectators can now get close and personal with a "troops-eye view" of the action on the table. Just point at one of the eye icons floating above the table and click to transport yourself, Ant-Man-styley, onto the table! NonVR players can press ESC to cancel Mortal Cam mode. VR players can press most any button on their controllers to cancel.

3. Your Realm has been rearranged by your minions while you were away at the battlefield. The Leaderboard and Mask selection are now on each side of the Realm's Main Menu Scroll for easier access.

4. Practice mode has been renamed to "Skirmish", which, let's face it, is a better description of what it really is...

5. Ever-so-slightly reduced the range of Tower Destroyers and Pestilence Launchers.

6. Updated Microphone Audio system for improved behaviour across as many systems as possible.

7. Various minor bug fixes, including updates on lighting through the arenas.

8. Progress on the graphics for Level 3 is going as well as usual. Will it ever be complete? Who knows? WHO KNOWS!?!?!?!?!
Known Issues:
- Microphones not picking up any audio - We have seen issues with people who have their Windows Microphone levels set to 50 (out of 100) or less, where the default voice thresholds will not pick up any audio (other than perhaps some hefty shouting). This is fixable by either moving your microphone levels up to 60 or 70 percent in Windows, and/or lowering your Mic Threshold at the bottom right of the "Players in Arena" menu while in an Arena.

Patch notes - v0.9.223 - Feb 22nd, 2019

Patch notes - v0.9.223 - Feb 22nd, 2019

1. ACHIEVEMENTS! A whole host of challenges have just been released in the form of Achievements! Some of you busier players may have unlocked a few of them already, but there will be plenty more for you have a go at! Plus, we'll be releasing more achievements in future updates! Check them out from the main menu scroll!

2. Several small bug fixes.

3. Level 3 graphics are now so tightened up that they may explode any second. You have been warned.

KNOWN ISSUE WITH ACHIEVEMENTS: VR players may not get a notification in-game when an achievement is unlocked. You **will** be awarded the achievement and will be able to confirm it in Steam or from the main menu scroll in the Realm, but the notification at the moment you gain the achievement may be missing :( Sorry about that. We're looking into it.
