Release Update
Welcome to the final dev log update for TACTICAL BANDITS. No, the game has not been cancelled, but rather the opposite has happened... it has officially passed certification for all platforms! That’s right – Steam, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, the game is ready to roll out.
TACTICAL BANDITS successfully passed the rigorous certification process for Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This means the game has met all the technical and quality standards required to bring you a flawless gaming experience.
We are now sorting out the final phase of preparing for the launch. This involves coordinating with platform holders to finalize release dates and ensuring a smooth rollout.
In our next update we will include the official release date, and trust us, it is coming very soon! We are incredibly excited to finally share TACTICAL BANDITS with you all. Your patience and support has been amazing, and we can’t wait for you to dive into the action-packed world of TACTICAL BANDITS.

Porting Progress
We're back with another quick update on the progress of bringing TACTICAL BANDITS to PC and consoles. Last month, we shared our excitement about the progress of the console ports, and we are thrilled to report that the development is right on track!
We have been hard at work ensuring that TACTICAL BANDITS runs smoothly on both console platforms. From optimizing performance to fine-tuning controls, we are dedicated to delivering the best possible experience for console players. All this optimization is also helping ensure the final PC version runs better on lower-end systems.
Adapting the user interface for console play has also been a priority. We want to ensure that the gameplay experience feels natural and intuitive, whether you're using a controller or a keyboard and mouse.
We have also been rigorously testing the game on PC and consoles to iron out any bugs and ensure optimal performance. Your gaming experience is our top priority, and we want to make sure that TACTICAL BANDITS delivers nothing short of excellence on every platform.
As we are now entering the final stages of porting, we are hoping we will have a release date announcement next month. We can't wait for you to experience the thrill of TACTICAL BANDITS from the comfort of your desk or living room!

March 2024 TACTICAL BANDITS Update
It's time for a quick update on the latest developments with TACTICAL BANDITS! While this month's progress report may be brief, rest assured, we've been hard at work behind the scenes to bring you an even more epic gaming experience.
So, what's been happening? Well, we've been knee-deep in the process of porting TACTICAL BANDITS to different console platforms. Exciting stuff, right? We’re thrilled to announce that we've already successfully ported the game to one console, and it's currently undergoing some final checks to ensure everything runs smoothly.
We’ve also kicked off the porting process for a second console platform. We’re making sure TACTICAL BANDITS is available to play on as many platforms as possible on launch date!
Now, we know you're all dying to know which consoles we’re talking about here. Trust me, we’re just as eager to spill the beans! But hold onto your controllers for just a little while longer – we’ll be revealing it all as soon as both platforms give me the green light.
And last but not least, we’re hard at work pencilling in a release date for TACTICAL BANDITS. Yep, you heard that right – soon you'll be able to dive headfirst into the action and experience all the thrills and spills first-hand.

Retirement of TACTICAL BANDITS Demo
Just a quick update that we will be retiring the demo of TACTICAL BANDITS at the end of March 2024.
The reasons behind this decision is that we want to focus all our resources on getting the game ready for release and leave some things that will be in the game under wraps.
Players still have 3 weeks to download and try the demo. As always, we are always looking at what feedback players give us and see if it needs to be implemented in the game.
For the players who already engaged with the demo, be assured that your feedback has been invaluable in shaping the final product.
We are eager to showcase the culmination of our hard work with the release of TACTICAL BANDITS later this year.
February 2024 TACTICAL BANDITS Update
TACTICAL BANDITS, and Make Good Games, now has a Discord server. You can join us on there as we post about TACTICAL BANDITS, other (unannounced) games that we are developing, or come and say hi to us!
Steam Next Fest Stream
TACTICAL BANDITS was streamed during Steam Next Fest by the artist on this game. For those of you who missed it, we have posted the video above.
Dioramas
Dioramas are fully implemented in the game, meaning the shop and collectibles menus are both complete. If you are not aware, dioramas are one of the items you can buy from the shop, and then you can either view them in the collectibles menu or they will be shown during the menus.
The dioramas also tell the story of the game, about the player bandit going to the Last Settlement and finding what is really happening in the world. There are 12 dioramas to purchase, each telling its own unique moment of the story.
Training Mode
Training mode is now complete and available in the game. In here, you can try out all the weapons you have unlocked against dummies. This is a good chance to see how they feel, how they shoot, and what kind of damage they can do.
There is also a short and simple shooting course where you have to hit all the training dummies as fast as possible with your weapon of choice. See if you are the fastest bandit on the leaderboards.
Summary
A short update this month but that was for a big reason... the game is now dev complete! This means the game is being tested from beginning to end and all bugs are being fixed. One bug which we found was that leaderboards were showing the incorrect score for Survivor mode.
We will also start focusing on getting the text of the game localized, so players from all countries can enjoy the game.
Regarding Steam Next Fest, we had a good amount of players who downloaded and played the game. Some of the players also gave us good feedback and we used that to improve the game. One example is that the goal in singleplayer mode is now more obvious when it is complete, and if the player dies, restarting the game mode is much faster and requires less menus to go through.
We will be keeping the demo live for the foreseeable future and making some final updates to it next month.
As for the future, we have started porting the game to console platforms. This is going to take a few months to complete, and after that the game will be coming out.
Because there is not much dev work remaining, the updates will be much shorter for the next few months until we have a release date for the game. We have also started working on a new game that will become the primary focus after TACTICAL BANDITS, but we are not ready to announce that game yet. But you might be able to take a sneak peak at our new game on our Discord server.
For now, it is going to be a busy few months with porting the game and getting it ready for release.

January 2024 TACTICAL BANDITS Update
Steam Next Fest Dem
In case you have missed our previous update, TACTICAL BANDITS will be taking part in Steam Next Fest February 2024 edition. Instead of waiting until then, we have decided to make the demo live a few weeks earlier.
Apart from training mode, all of the game modes are unlocked and playable. They are all locked off after a certain amount of progress made as it is only a demo, and not the full release.
Survivor Mode
This is the game mode we have been teasing about for the past few months. Survivor mode is inspired by Vampire Survivors, but with a twist to make it fit with TACTICAL BANDITS gameplay.
In Survivor mode, your goal is to survive for 20 minutes and get as many kills as possible to get the highest score. There is no aiming in this game mode as it is done automatically, which makes it a more casual gameplay compared to the other game modes.
But to survive the 20 minutes and get the highest score, it will take skill and planning. Killing zombies and enemies will drop scrap which players can collect for experience points. Collect enough experience and you can upgrade your bandit.
Some of the upgrades players can get are new weapons, recruiting bandits to fight with them, and increasing the health and range of the bandits.
Collectibles Menu
The collectibles menu was completed this month. As mentioned in the previous updates, the collectibles menu shows unlocked artwork and weapons.
When looking at weapons, players can see their stats to get a better understanding how they work and which weapon they might like best. This still isn’t better than actually trying the weapons, which is what players can do once Training mode is ready.
Summary
With the new game mode ready and announced for Steam Next Fest, this was a really good month. A lot of work was completed and we are now in the final stage of development, where we are testing everything and fixing all bugs.
We have also made some changes from the feedback we have got from the demo so far. This includes making the tutorial optional to complete. We still believe completing the tutorial before playing the game will lead to a better experience, but we also know players do not like to be told what to do and want to just jump headfirst into the game.
The goal is to start porting TACTICAL BANDITS at the end of next month for console platforms.
For now, we hope everyone who has wanted to try the game to come try out the demo on Steam and let us know what you think.
