The Tactical Galactical Demo is back and ready for you to play during the Steam Game Festival Summer 2020!
Tactical Galactical is a multiplayer-focused, real time strategy game with a single player story mode. The 10 minute Demo will take you through a short tutorial, culminating in a mini AI-battle at the end!
Tactical Galactical began its development as a ship-to-ship space combat game, where ammunition was harvested automatically by swooping past nearby planets. However, as we iterated, the harvesting element grew deeper, and the planet-side gameplay became our focus. Eventually the space combat was dropped entirely and we focused in on the real-time-tactics. It's been quite the journey of discovery.
The end result of our iterative design for Tactical Galactical has created an incredibly unique experience which is challenge to pigeon-hole. It is certainly not game X, mixed with idea Y, but very much its own thing. Because of how different our game plays in comparison to traditional tactics games, we've spent a considerable amount of time working on the onboarding. Fortunately we were able to present our game publicly at Bitsummit 2019 and the Tokyo Game Show, giving us ample opportunity to test our new onboarding methods. We received great praise from both the public and other indies for how unique our game felt compared to traditional RTSes.
