Next Fest Demo Updates!

Next fest is here!

Well, the Steam Next Fest is finally upon us; so of course we've got some big updates for demo players!
Highlights include a ton of polish to bring TAGLINE closer to release-ready quality. The focus of this update is the addition of a momentum system and visual "gamefeel" additions (whatever that is). Let's recap!

  • New movement mechanics, no biggie! Build momentum by moving, and conserve speed after landing!
  • Some more Combat balancing, damage has been tweaked around to make you feel cooler.
  • Strafing now causes the player to lean, there’s a setting to disable it if it’s not your style.
  • Screen shake and hand shake. Just tons of feedback to help the game feel more weighted!
  • Shiny new particles! Hit confirms - explosion decals, and “bullet holes”.
  • Some new destructible objects, posters, and art assets I’ve honestly lost track of.
  • Most importantly: pigeons. With AI so advanced it makes chat bots look like preschoolers.
  • Mundane, behind the scenes content that only belongs on our discord server.

A reminder that wishlisting the game really helps us 2 lonesome devs get noticed by the Steam algorithm! We are absolutely thrilled over the latest boost in interest so please, keep sharing the game around, keep streaming, and keep letting us know your thoughts! A huge thanks as always to those who have been supporting us, and a warm welcome to any new players!

Enjoy, and thank you for playing!

Demo Patch released

Hello all!

It's the NOTH team (Alex and Oscar) here with a small patch to make your DEMO experience more enjoyable! Our biggest thanks to those who've tried/streamed/sent feedback our way.

Here's some small but notable things:

  • The windowed/full screen bug is fixed for demo players. (Beta update incoming)
  • Visual fixes; some funny things such as floating decals and haunted posters.
  • We now have colored text which helps distinguish ability names.
  • Some dialogue edits, collectable bugs, and secrets we cannot divulge here!

As always thanks for playing. Make sure to wishlist the game if you haven't already as it helps us get noticed by the Steam algorithm! Whenever we see people share we sit back and stretch our horribly hunched backs, so for the love of our spine health - keep at it.

Till next time-

TAGLINE DEMO UPDATES!

Our biggest demo update yet!

We want to say thank you for playing the TAGLINE demo and spreading the word! Your radiant, mildly corrosive energy is keeping development alive! The feedback really helped us focus on what was important to include in this push. Colorblind modes, key bindings, movement tweaks... There's months of work to cover here - so let's get to it!

Some of the biggest changes include:

  • A tutorial area with it's own collectables and cut scenes!
  • A new job terminal and basketball challenge have been added to the level!
  • Working mini-map and pause screen, with collectable and challenge tracker.
  • Way more stuff do, almost twice the amount of vinyls to grab!
  • A graffiti collection mission - good luck finding all the tags!
  • Tweaked player movement and jumping. Scary for us, more fun for you!
  • Added a proper options menu with settings and keybindings finally!
  • You have access to save files, a main menu, and more quality of life goodness.
  • Typos, tweaks, level secrets, and a ton of squashed bugs!

As we push forward this year there's going to be some scary announcements and big developments, we are getting closer and closer to the final look and scope of TAGLINE! So stay tuned, wishlist us if you enjoyed the demo and keep providing the feedback! Keep us posted on your thoughts and brag about your highest scores on our Discord server!

Thank you for your overwhelming support

New Demo Tweaks!

New gameplay tweaks!🌃

We've got bug fixes and updates today with a focus on improving Waveform / Compressor abilities outside of combat!

Here's the lowdown:
  • Waveform (pink) platforms stick to the ground at an angle, creating slanted surfaces.😉
  • Compressor (red) has new effects on the player while in the air...
  • You can no longer interact with NPC's / terminals while standing on a waveform disk.
  • Further beautified the map, adding some new posters and decals!
  • There is a small delay between tag grabbing and attacking to fix animation grossness.
  • Bug squashes ranging from animation issues to the player respawn.
  • Tweaks so tiny they can only be seen on our discord server.

We eat feedback for breakfast and we're hungry! Your thoughts and opinions are a driving force for development, so please let us know how we can improve, manage and fine tune the game! Leave your comments on steam or find us on our ever growing Discord server!

Catch you around,
The NOTH Team

Demo Updates!

Our demo has a fresh coat of paint!🌃

It’s been 10 days since the demo for TAGLINE dropped and we’ve received a lot of great feedback from players. Being the responsible developers that we are; we've pushed an update to address issues and make the demo more enjoyable for all! The biggest change in this update is that we’ve upgraded to unreal engine 4.27!

The highlights of this update include:

  • New players will be greeted by an NPC to help introduce objectives.
  • Added a terminal challenge, and an additional record to collect (12 in total)!
  • Our 2D assets have had their artifacts cleaned up, they’re gorgeous now.
  • Improved methods for NPC interaction, basketball pickups, and tag grabbing.
  • Stability and compatibility with Windows 11 has been improved.
  • Typos, tweaks, and bugs too boring to list here.

Note that this update will wipe your save file and high scores. This is a tough consequence of these changes but look on the bright side; you’ve got some new scores to beat. Remember to let us know your thoughts on the changes, and come share your best scores with us on our Discord server!

Thanks for playing, your pals
