Patch Notes: Named DiceURLs and shadow on cursor
With most of the work being done on the new Chimera build to get it to a playable state (still quite some ways away), we've got a smaller update on our Dragon Build this week. Still pretty neat, though.
  • We've added names for dice roll groups when using DiceURLs. This will name the rolls in the history tab and show the initial group name on top of the roll result UI. Examples:
    talespire://dice/Fireball:8d6

    talespire://dice/attack:d12+2/something%20else:3d20

  • We've added a shadow behind the cursor to make it easier to see in snowy areas.

The Laboratory Expansion Set


"Enter at your own peril! Pass the bolted door - where impossible things may happen. That the world's never seen before."

We're making our way into a Laboratory! With some electrifying props and heroes.

This pack includes, among other things


  • Alchemy themed equipment, shelves, and desks.
  • Telescope
  • Magic Cauldron
  • Tesla Coil
  • 3 Gnome Heroes
  • 1 Construct named Buttons

Other:


  • Added Screen-Space-Reflection option under settings. It is disabled by default as we haven't checked how expensive this effect is currently.
  • Added the Suprised Emote

Fixes:


  • Fixed spacing on the radial menu making it a bit easier to see options.

TaleSpire Update: Dice Urls
Hi folks, today we are shipping TaleSpire's custom URL support. Now, when you navigate to any URL starting with "TaleSpire://" the URL will be routed to TaleSpire. If the game is closed, it will launch the game, and then the behavior will depend on the rest of the URL.

For now, the only URLs we support are dice URLs. They look like this: talespire://dice/2d12+d4/3d6-2d4/d20

Each dice group is separated by a forward-slash and will get a separate total in the results. You can also add or subtract modifiers like this:

While basic, this should allow the brave and curious to begin to make their own tools that can send dice rolls to TaleSpire (specification for the url will come in a dev-log later today)

This is only the start of the tools we will provide for 3rd party tools to interact with TaleSpire, and we are super excited to see what the community comes up with!

Biomes of Ice & Dust Expansion Set


Here we have it. A small set of desert and winter tiles and props to add some more variation to your adventure climate.

Beta Update 27: Below the surface of water


This week we've added the water plane. This is under heavy development and will require some iterations to get right. It does provide something to play with though.

NOTE: This upgrade does make changes to the board format, which means it will only work with this version and later. So to make things go smoothly, please make sure all players are on the latest version.


New:


  • Added Exposure to the Atmosphere Settings
  • Added the first iteration on the Water Plane
  • Added ability to set North on the Compass
  • Added the ability to move the Compass around


Fixes:


  • Flying creatures inside of Hide Volumes should hide their Flying Base now.
  • Removed Warning on Clipping


Known issue:


  • Line of sight currently doesn't work when crossing the water plane.
  • Compass screen location doesn't save yet.
