With the holidays fast approaching, our team here at Nomad were thinking about what we could do to make it special. You’ve all supported us massively this year while we’ve been working hard to bring you more digital board game goodness, so we wanted to give something back.
Which is why we’re excited to announce that we’re giving you the opportunity to win the entire Nomad Games catalogue this Christmas! That’s right, one lucky fan will be the proud owner of every single game, expansion and piece of DLC we’ve currently got on Steam. That includes everything Talisman: Digital Edition of course! You can check out our full catalogue over here, to see what you could win. We’ve also got a whole sack full of runners-up prizes containing more games and stocking fillers, so everyone is in with a chance of winning a Nomad Games Christmas treat.
We respect your privacy. We won’t share your email address with third parties, and we’ll only contact you directly if you win our giveaway.
By signing up to our mailing list, you’ll also get access to our monthly studio round-up newsletter, where we tell you all about the cool stuff we’ve been developing, testing and working on. We’ll also send you the occasional exciting update about projects we’re working on. And if you want to unsubscribe as soon as we've handed out the Christmas goodies, that's fine with us too!
If you’re already signed up to our mailing list though (either through Talisman: Digital Edition or through our website) then you don’t need to do anything - we’ll automatically enter you into our giveaway. We’ll contact the lucky winners directly via email on January 5th (when we’re back in the office after Christmas) to give out their prizes.
Good luck, and have a great holiday and New Year from everyone at Nomad Games! ːheartː
Nominate Talisman for the Labor of Love award!
Howdy Talisman fans! ːbluetalismanː
The Steam Autumn sale is officially here - we hope you've managed to pick up some cool games (or at least have your eyes on a few!).
As part of the event here on Steam, Valve are once again hosting their annual 'Steam Awards', where people can nominate their favourite games in a wide range of categories. While we were originally going to put Talisman: Digital Edition forward for the 'Better with Friends' category (because we know it's true!), it looks like you can only do that if you game came out this year - which is fair enough!
So instead, we've put the game forward for the 'Labor of Love' award. We'd massively appreciate it if you could throw a vote our way!
And then once you've cast your vote, open up your diary and make a note - because this Thursday at 1pm BST / 4am PST we'll be live here on Steam (and our official Twitch channel) playing some Talisman: Digital Edition, giving away Steam keys and generally having a chill time!
In the meantime, stay cool adventurers. ːheartː

Fix for Settings not reloading properly
If you notice any bugs or issues, feel free to either report them in the Bug Report forums or email them to support@nomadgames.co.uk so we can ensure they're tracked in our internal database and can be fixed!

Talisman: Digital Edition Patch Notes - 12/09/2022
Hi Talisman fans! ːBlueTalismanː
Today we've rolled out the latest patch for Talisman: Digital Edition. A good number of these fixes came about because you reported them either on our Discord or on the Steam forums here. So from everyone working on Talisman here at Nomad Games, thanks for your help and support!
Check out the official patch notes below, and don't forget to download the update if you want to play with your friends - you all need to be on the same version to play together (including cross-platform play!)
General Fixes:
We’ve made it so that you can’t use the ‘No More Lives’ house rule while The Dancing Skulls ending is active. This is because during this ending, You can only resurrect if you have at least 1 life point which you can gain from defeating enemies (or trading in trophies depending on rule choice) or other card encounters. If you have the No More Lives rule switched on, you've basically made it incredibly difficult to get resurrected, to the point you're limited to 2 cards from the realm region's deck. So it could also become impossible to do so. So in order to avoid people getting stuck in this situation, we’ve made this change.
Certain Legendary versions of cards weren’t causing challenges to trigger as they should, so we’ve gone ahead and fixed those cards. The Legendary Deck versions of Self Portrait, Wraith and Giant will now add to challenges when encountered.
The Devil's Minion was previously unable to use weapon inventions during psychic combat despite the fact they can use regular weapons that are meant for psychic combat. We’ve fixed this, so now all you Devil’s Minion players can use invented weapons to your evil hearts content.
We discovered and fixed an issue with the Witch Doctor's Evil Eye ability. If you land on a character in the centre space for the first time and there is someone already there, it's ok to use his ability. However, the game was allowing you to keep using his ability on the following turns despite not moving to land on the other character. We’ve fixed this now, so he can only use his ability when he lands on someone.
A minor fix, but sometimes the Werewolf card wouldn’t appear properly when you encountered it - it should now be visible.
We fixed an issue where the use of the Horn of Dread could lead to locking the game if the owner dies and then the new owner who uses it straight away loses a life.
We fixed a bug with the Enlightened destiny card, where it would not give the player a chance to trade in 1 light fate to gain a spell. Even if the player had room for a spell in their inventory and there are no anti-spell/magic effects in play, the game still wouldn’t let them use it. This has now been fixed, and the Destiny should function properly.
When the Ifrit Invasion card from the Fireland expansion was drawn while the Cataclysm version of the board was in use, the card wouldn’t let you roll for its effect. We’ve fixed this issue, so now the card should function as expected even when using the Cataclysm board.
We’ve added some more localisation fixed based on feedback from the community - thanks to everyone who pointed out text that needed updating!
Crash Fixes:
We’ve rolled out a ton of crash bug fixes in this patch, including fixes for:
An occasional crash downloading Avatar and Challenge textures
An occasional crash when selecting cards in a network game
An occasional crash in CURL on Android
A very infrequent crash when saving the game
And more!
Nomad Account Updates:
We’ve now added a ‘delete account’ button to the game, so that you can delete your Nomad Account directly through Talisman: Digital Edition. Be careful with this feature however, as you won’t be able to get your account back!
We’ve also updated the email that we send when you sign up for a Nomad Account to enable email account verification. Previously you could enter any old email address and have a valid email address without needing to confirm that email was actually you. So now we’ve added a ‘confirm email address’ button to your email, so we can just confirm you are who you claim to be.
As always, thanks for the support everyone! ːheartː

Nomad Monthly Mailbag + Talisman Survey
Hey again Talisman fans! ːBlueTalismanː
We’re three months into 2022, and we’ve released 4 shiny new Legendary Decks for Talisman: Digital Edition, ran an AMA over on r/Talisman and we’re working on a Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition update!
We’ve also just launched a survey following the release of the Legendary Decks, to get a better idea of what people want from Talisman: Digital Edition in the future. If you fill it in, not only will we think you’re really cool, but you’ll be actively helping make Talisman: Digital Edition a better game!
But enough of what we’ve been up to, it’s time to go over the questions we got sent in this month!
From TheSteamPlayer
“l love your games all together, but l find extremely stupid that you can not put in-game saves to your looooooooooooong looooooong lasting games eg. the Fighting Fantasy legends.
They are very awesome looking, but l can't feel any fancy to sit at them for a day long at a stretch. PLEASE CREATE A SAVE OPPURTINITY in them. For me. :)) I really don't have fancy to start it again and again and again...!
So the good news is that all our Fighting Fantasy games have an autosave feature! If you close out of the game and relaunch it, the game will remember where you were up to in your adventure!
We appreciate that people don’t want to sit down for a long time when playing a game all the time (we still remember the days of playing PlayStation 1 games without a memory card) which is why all of our games that run for a long time offer some form of automatic saving.
From Tom
“Where are the physical releases for the console versions of Talisman? I want the PS4 one to put on my shelf.”
While we’d love to release physical versions of all of our games, the logistics involved with printing disks, getting cases, printing covers and manuals and then actually shipping the games everywhere they need to go is too much for a company of our size! There’s also a range of different approvals that each store front asks you to go through that is different to the approval process we’ve already got to grips with recently.
We know that there are companies that do limited print runs of games as special editions, which would be much more feasible for us. If there’s enough demand for a super shiny version of Talisman: Digital Edition on console, let us know and we’ll do some reaching out!
From MagicWizard
“Why do you make things like the Legendary Decks when you know people are more excited for expansions? I want something that actually changes the game and doesn’t just leave it feeling the same but a bit harder.
This is one of the reasons we’re doing our Legendary Deck feedback survey! We know that a lot of people have asked for new kinds of content for Talisman, but before we get started on something we need to make sure that there’s enough of a demand for it there in the first place!
So if you want to see new things, let us know!
From Patrick
“If Nomad are bringing Catan to just consoles and not PC, does that mean you’re getting out of the PC game business?
We most definitely are not! PC is where we’re most comfortable, where we’re most confident and where we know a lot of our fans are. As we’ve said above, there’s a whole lot of different steps that we need to go through to release games on console.
With Catan, we’re working with the lovely folk at Dovetail Games as our publisher, which means they’ll be helping out with all the technical stuff when it comes to submitting, approving and everything else related to store fronts. Without them, it’d be a daunting task for sure!
And that’s the end of this edition of the Nomad monthly mailbag! Thanks to everyone who sent in questions, and don’t forget to send your questions to questions@nomadgames.co.uk if you want us to answer your burning questions next month! ːheartː
AMA on r/Talisman
Hi again Talisman fans! ːblueTalismanː
We've just gone live over on r/Talisman for an AMA to celebrate the launch of the 4 new Legendary Decks. The whole team will be answering questions, from the programmers and developers, to the designers and the art team.
We've even bought some cats along, as is Reddit tradition.
New Legendary Decks Available Now!
Hello once again Talisman fans!
Today we’ve officially launched four new Legendary Decks for Talisman: Digital Edition! You can find the full patch notes for this update here.
Specifically crafted for the experienced Talisman player, these decks replace the normal adventure deck from each expansion. When you swap out the adventure deck for an expansion with the Legendary version, the monsters you face pose more of a challenge, and help is harder to come by. If you want to know more about how we crafted these new decks, you can check out our design deep-dive!
We know that our first batch of Legendary Decks were well received by the Talisman: Digital Edition community, and these 4 expansions were the ones most requested to get the Legendary treatment!
If you want to grab all the Legendary Decks we've released so far, you can get a discount by buying them in the Legendary Deck Collection. This is a 'Complete Your Collection' bundle too, so if you've already bought the first 4 decks you'll still grab a tasty discount!
Want to know more about each Legendary Deck before you take on this new challenge? We’ve got you covered!
The City Expansion: Legendary Deck
One of the most popular expansions for Talisman, The City Expansion was by far the most requested Legendary Deck. We’re excited for players to take to the mean streets of this rebalanced expansion, and see if they can survive!
Another highly requested deck, The Sacred Pool Expansion focuses heavily on your alignment and has a range of creatures, spells and other cards that change effects based on your alignment.
Adding the wandering Werewolf to the game was always the main draw of The Blood Moon Expansion, but with the Legendary Deck version, now there’s even more to draw you in! The creatures that go bump in the night will now bump you even harder, and the days grow shorter and shorter…
We might be heading out of winter finally, but the cold just keeps coming with the Legendary version of the Frostmarch! Featuring a host of changes to the enemies, encounters and strangers who want to come in from the cold, this Legendary Deck offers more challenge whenever you play with this expansion.
Please note that just as with the first Legendary Decks we released, you’ll need to own the original expansion in order to play with these new decks. For example, in order to play with the The Blood Moon Expansion Legendary Deck, you’ll first need to own The Blood Moon Expansion in order to swap it out!
Don’t forget to stay tuned to our Facebook, Twitter and Discord for announcements, insights and more from the Nomad games team!
