Tank Slam will shortly be going free to play
Tank Slam will be in free to play mode while we work on the next update which will change up several of the game play mechanics and introduce other ways to enjoy the game. We will post more news as we go.

This is a large release with many changes across the Tank Slam application.
Single player mode now generates random levels that progressively get harder
Editor overhaul to make creating levels easier
Balancing to all units
New Engineer class that repairs turrets
Spy class that calls down air strikes
Attack helicopter that fires heat seeking missiles
Multiple new props to make levels look more interesting
Multiplayer now automatically sends your custom map to the other player
Explosions do wider damage
Rag dolls improved
Sound effects improved
Added basic event system for custom maps

- Some enemies will drop health boosts when you shoot them
- Some enemies when destroyed may create other enemies (troops will hop out of destroyed tanks)
- Some new wall types that are not square and look more like regular walls

This release has some final balancing and stability fixes. We will be looking for player feedback next on the next things to add for features.

Hi All
Still a few things to complete before retail. This release adds a number of new features including the start to our action and trigger system.
Indestructible walls
Gates that can lower and close
Triggers that cause actions on other items
Spy infantry that can call air strikes
Snipers now cloak when they stop moving
Infantry will hide from tank in some cases
Officers place land mines
All tanks and infantry can be put in guard mode
All items in the editor can be rotated when being placed

In the next update.
FIXES - Finally got a fix for the sound cutting out when lots of audio tracks playing
- Fixed a memory leak causing long games to get worse in performance
- Sound plays on weapon pickups
- Enemy solider movement slowed a little to make it less like skating
IMPROVEMENTS - Snipers will be invisible until they move
- Officers will occasionally drop land mines
- A new enemy unit (the spy) will be able to call air strikes against you and also tries to avoid your tank
- Better sound for rockets launchers
- Background sky now slowly revolves in game
- Some minor improvements in solider AI
These should be the last of the stability fixes before going out of early access.

Lot's of small bug fixes and physics corrections in this game. Performance should be improved a little as well.
We have made each of the wall types have different hit points so glass takes only one hit to destroy while iron and gold etc take a lot more.
Added a lighting prop to make night games more atmospheric.

We ended up doing a bit more work then expected on this.
- Improvements to multiplayer (including, night mode works properly now)
- Machine gun pickup
- Rocket launcher pickup
- Exploding barrels
- Soldiers and tanks when placed in map can be given guard duty (they wont roam around the map but will attack if they spot you)
- A bunch of small bug fixes
For the time being we have taken out leader boards as we wanted to rethink these. Achievements are unchanged.

Hi All
Along with the enemy spawner and guard duty elements we are also adding two player tank upgrade pickups.
Machine guns
Equips two rapid fire machine guns on the sides of the tank, they do less damage but are great for mowing down infantry.
Rocket Pod
Equips a rocket launcher to the top of the tank that fires missiles that track to the nearest target facing the tank.
These two additional weapons can make the tank over powered but adding them into hard maps can make for a lot of fun.
0.2.0 will also be adding new wall or floor types and some additional tank firing particle effects.
