Party building tips!

Hey Steam friends!

As we draw a close to the Tears of Avia character overviews, we wanted to share some tips on how best to build your party when you get the game in your hands later this year. With only five character slots to dive into missions with, tough decisions have to be made and it is up to you to select the best people for the mission.

Of course, there are multiple combinations which you can experiment with, but here are just a few things to bare in mind in your travels across Estrea.

Dynamic building
When building your party you should view your choices based on the mission you’re heading into. Are you taking on elemental enemies – well if so Iris might come in handy to deal critical damage. Each character has their place, and each character can give you the upper hand in a battle as the game progresses. So if you don’t level them up equally, you might come to regret it!

Range
The reach of your attacks is of upmost importance. Tears of Avia implements a grid-based system for all movement and attacks. If you’re going up against enemies who can hit you where you’re unable to hit them, you may need to consider having someone like Reina in your party. Reina can utilise her bow and arrow to attack across multiple tiles, giving you the safety of distance, and the venom of attacking!

Damage
Are you trying to get the mission done quick? Going toe-to-toe with an enemy who will stand their ground? Brawlers and Knights might be your best pick. Having a high damage dealing character which both has the health to absorb attacks as well as the damage output to give them should be a staple in your party choices.

Support
If you’re going to be in a fight for the long haul, you’re going to need a priest. Someone that can heal the rest of your party and cure any ailments that might be inflected with along the way.

It’s up to you on how you pick and build your party. But always study the enemy and select the best people for the job!

Character overview: Kai

Hello all,

We have a new character overview for you! We would like to introduce one of the knights in Tears of Avia, Kai. If a strong will and unwavering dedication is important to you, Kai is definitely one for your party!

Who is Kai?

Kai possesses a strong heart and an iron resolve when it comes to his convictions. As a young boy growing up in the great city of Tirig, he always admired the revered knights of Tirig, warriors clad not just in armor but also in honor. As he grew and trained, he found himself disappointed with the lazy guards that surrounded him and continues to dream of the day when he could prove himself among the greatest knights.

Building Kai's skills

Kai is a strong close-range warrior! But don’t under-estimate his support abilities. He can mitigate damages just as well as he can inflict “Damage over Time” to his enemies. Add to his set a few buffs for your party, and you have a perfect mix!

Character overview: Iris

Hello all,

We have a new character overview for you! This time, we wanted to introduce one of the mage's in Tears of Avia, Iris. Having this pyromaniac, hot-headed girl in your party can be especially useful against some of the elemental foes you will face in your journey. Just don't get on her bad side.

Who is Iris?

As a self-assured master of magic, Iris is the quintessential Mage, brimming with a confidence only matched by her ego. After her days spent under the tutelage of a master, she now roams across the continent searching for ancient tomes or trinkets in long forgotten places. Anything that will make the impatient mage stronger. Though her goals would probably be easier if she did not have the slightest streak of pyromania...

Building Iris' skills

While Iris might excel in fire magic, she is far from limited to pyromancy. Her abilities range from buffs and debuffs to 'Damage Over Time' which will help you vanquish your foes!
