This is still early in development (and we don't have a Steam store page yet for it) but we have begun preproduction on Templum de Malum II. Release dates are not known at this time but this will be priority over working on Fate of Persephone (which is admittedly taking far longer than expected due to the scope of the project).
What I can tell you is that this title will still have Philip and Brimley at the helm. It will incorporate a lot of the features and functionality of Fate of Persephone (since it is using a "lite" version of the same engine). It will have voice acting, auto map, pixel-perfect mouse collision detection, and a free movement inventory system (can pick up items and place them where ever you want.) It will also have an optional side quest you can do to retrieve an item that works as a limited hint system (if you get in a jam).
I hope to share more with you as time goes on. Also hope to get a Steam store page up once there is content to allow for that. Until then, I will post updates on this page. We are hoping it will be even better than the original! Matthew
P.S. - The image shown is a prototype image of the layout of the new UI. It isn't a game screenshot but will give you an idea of the spatial design.
Small update to improve loading times and frame rate
This update improves the loading time at the beginning of the game as well as should improve the frame rate on non-capped Graphics cards.
If you are still seeing slow loading times, it is recommended that you turn off the V-Sync on your monitor as that will bottleneck the loading of assets into memory.
Thanks, M.P.
Some "mini-updates" since launch...
Due to feedback from awesome players, we have fixed a few things to add a better gaming experience:
- Fixed bug when attempting to use torch in hand on an empty inventory slot. It no longer crashes
- Removed ESC key bind to game play that went to title screen since some users accidentally hit it and lost game before saving
- Removed ESC hotkey from the title screen to exit game to prevent accidents. Player must now click Exit button to end game now
- ESC key in game play mode now toggles a pause screen with options for New Game, Load Game, Return to Game, or Exit (while in pause mode, your torch doesn't burn down)
Have fun and happy adventuring!
Matthew, David, and Tori (Team Templum)
