Bug Fixes :


- Gameplay : the engine was seeing very late when you were doing an inside out very early (that's a paradox :blackeye: ), leading to unfair errors
- Gameplay : switching from the forehand to the smash was keeping the forehand height reach, leading to missed balls on smashes
- Animation : the short animations (ie: volleys) could get jerky from the dynamic adjustments
- Animation : the players were doing strange movements with their back if they were moving right after have stroke the ball
- World Tour : watching CPU vs CPU match and giving up could lead to having the Player 2 winning right away in the next watched CPU vs CPU match
- World Tour : the career & year summary in the Activity screen was missing the Grade D category for the Junior players
- World Tour : the Bronze medal was giving the same points as the Silver medal ; now it'll get 75% of the Silver medal points
- World Tour : if you have missed a Grand Slam, you could still get the Calendar Gram Slam achievement screen
- World Tour : deactivating tiredness wasn't saved
- Outfit : entering an outfit code without an ending ";" was making the game crash
- Saved game : it was not possible to load a game saved from a version older than ~1 year

Build 62 - SubBuild 2021.10.2

New Features :


- Modding : the engine can find the new outfit textures without changing the GameSys.ini, and they can have normal names instead of being only numbers

Changes :


- AI : raised by ~50% the efficiency of the Self Confidence, so if a CPU player plays vs himself, except he has 100% in Self Confidence and the other one has 0%, then he'll win nearly 60% of the sets
- Animation : slightly lowered the reach of the 2-handed forehand while on the run and significantly lower the reach on both sides, for all animations, when running back to the baseline ; all this is to prevent too weird stretching from the dynamic animation system
- Animation : smoothed a bit the hand repositioning done by the dynamic animation system
- Animation : changed a bit the after-hit hand follow-through when the ball is far, to avoid the player going weirdly to the front

Bug Fixes :


- World Tour : reloading a saved game could lead to getting some changed skills (especially mental ones, visible if you had changed your player control to CPU)
- Animation : since the last Build, the CPU could sidestep all the way back from the net to the baseline when he had to do a smash there ; now, he'll just run back normally
- Animation : fixed a few cases where the human-controller player could wrongly predict when he was going to hit the ball, leading to strange things in the dynamic animation system, as well as gliding & animation jerking
- Animation : the human-controller player could hit clip the ball (and do a fault) instead of waiting for a tiny bit more to hit it back into play (when the ball was going to the player on left/right instead of going away from him)
- Animation : when running back to the baseline, the ball height could be wrongly predicted, leading the dynamic animation system to compress the player into the ground ':D
- Animation : the pelvis could quickly jerk when the ball was a bit too far
- Animation : the player was jerking quickly when the ball was too much on him
- Helpers : the Danger Zone wasn't displayed if the ball was going extremely high (ie: ~15 meters or more)

Notes :


- The Outfit Modding uses the same method asTE4, except the Outfits are in the TEM2 Modding SDK instead of being a separate download ; you can find the documentation here : topic60-33539.php .
- The Oufit path changed from "Models\Textures" to "Players\Textures" to match the one in TE4

Changes :
- AI : the CPU will now rarely do backhand smashes ; he'll do mostly normal forehand smashes, except when he really doesn't have the choice ; plus he'll do less backward running and more sidestep before smashing the ball

Bug Fixes :
- Gameplay : fixing a possible source of desync when replaying a whole match
- Stats : the forced errors weren't counted in the player stat's errors
- Controls : since the previous version, the Windows keys weren't intercepted anymore, leading to the opening of the Windows menu

Build 58 - SubBuild 2021.9.6

New Features :


- Controls : added icons to clearly represent the different axis and buttons of the XBox & Playstation controller, as well as a new default configuration for this type of controllers
- Controls : switched to Rewired plugin (1), which should better handle controllers in a general way, especially exotic ones (2)
- Controls : you should be able now to plug in & remove your controller while the game is running
- Menu : up/down and left/right are now correctly handled, so the menu navigation with a controller should be much easier than before (3)
- Modding : it's now possible to save the Coaching Strategy and apply it to World Tour players in the Player base (see the "Coaching Strategy" paragraph here : topic11-31376.php )

Changes:


- World Tour : Taiwan has been renamed to Chinese Tapei, as by sport competition standards

- World Tour : age of your player could be incorrect on the Week 52
- World Tour : Indoor streaks were counting as Synthethic or Hard
- World Tour : fixed a crash when starting a career with 4 players in season mode
- Animation : the player head could quickly switch left/right when the ball was right above it
- Animation : the head of the players could go all around (since yesterday's build)
- Animation : the player couldn't see to the smash animation if you moved him after he had started another kind of animation (that includes the auto-pos)
- Animation : the player can hit the ball a bit more in his back if he runs back to the baseline
- Gameplay : the women (in World Tour) max speed was the same as the men's one, instead of being about 3km/h lower when having 100% Speed
- Camera : the scrolling camera wasn't scrolling in doubles

Tennis Elbow Manager 2 - Version 1.0e released !

Hello,

here the version 1.0e of TEM2 ; it's the 1st update from (almost) only TE4 improvements, but they are a bunch of them !

The main additions are smoother dynamic animation, a new way to set up the controls of your player if you play the match by yourself, and many tuning of the 3D Match engine.

Version 1.0e - SubBuild 2021.8.18:



New Features :


- Controls : new way to configure the keyboard and the controllers, based on strike & functions instead of buttons & strike remapping
- Controls : separate buttons to lower/raise slide bars in the menus (when using the keyboard or a controller), with a tooltip showing which buttons to use to do so
- Modding : can change the number of talent stars when starting a new game with the NbStar entry under [WT_NewGame] in your Tennis.ini

Changes :


Career : it's now possible to change at any time the strike animations & grunts (it's less realistic, but just more convenient :blackeye: )
- Strike : nerfed a bit the slice, so it's a bit slower when well hit, and noticeably slower when badly hit
- Strike : strongly lowered the spin handicap when hitting a topspin strike on the run
- Strike : strongly lowered the tolerance on raising balls to trigger the Shoulder Height acceleration bonus (ie: if you take the ball a bit too much before its highest point, you won't get a speed bonus on your strike)
- Strike : raised a bit the racket reach when running to the side
- Strike : better prediction if the player will be able to strike the ball or not (so the player won't air-swing if the ball is too far from him)
- Talent : the Slice Mastery talent now strongly reduces the handicap of hitting poorly a slice instead of raising the strike speed
- Strike : lowered the topspin handicap on low balls, on 1H & 2H backhands, on off-centered balls, on raising & falling balls
- Strike : lowered the handicaps on the slice strike when prepared late
- Animation : changed the way the players bend their back to reach for low & far balls, so it's done more smoothly & naturally (it's still not 100% perfect, but it probably won't get better without real hand-made animations, I guess :fear: )
- HUD : the little triangle on the Energy bar now lowers when the max possible Energy is limited by the Short Term Form
- Gameplay : now when the Short Term form lowers, it'll also make the max energy lower till ~90%, even before reaching the threshold
- Gameplay : it's a bit less penalizing to hit the volley off-centered, so the extra-reach is more useful and let you do more decent shots
- Gameplay : it's not possible to have net balls on the 2nd serve for the human players, as there was a light risk to double fault because of it
- AI : the CPU predicts now better the chance a ball can go too wild, and thus too a bit less stupid faults (especially when his Tactic skill is high)
- AI : the CPU now doesn't use the Short Acceleration anymore if it has too much chance to not be short enough (especially when his Tactic skill is high)
- Talent : the Slice Mastery talent slightly raise the slice precision, so it's more efficient when prepared a bit late
- Control : autopos now makes your player go backward if you try to smash a high ball after it has bounced

Bug Fixes :


- Animation : fixed several weird dynamic animations when the player was hitting (or almost hitting) a ball far from him, and/or on the run
- Animation : the animation could get slightly out of sync when running after the ball (which was also additionally creating weird dynamic animations :sweat: )
- Animation : dynamic animation could make the player weirdly bends on his side when he was running
- Shortcuts : clicking on Controls -> Shortcuts -> Default was corrupting all shortcuts using a Modifier key ; if you did that in the past, do that again with this version to get the Modifier keys back
- Animation : on low balls, the dynamic animation was making the player kinda lower then go back up
- Animation : the body could be strangely pushed when hitting on the run
- Animation : the strike time prediction could lead to a too late auto-positioning, creating super weird animations on the legs
- Animation : fixed the spine rigging for the players, which was creating weird deformations when the players were bending their back
- World Tour : the Junior rankings was using the 18 best results instead of 6
- World Tour : the counted tournaments for the Junior ranking were not flagged as such in the Activity screen
- World Tour : if your Junior player participated in a Pro tournament, the total prize was raising despite the Junior players not being able to get any prize
- Animation : after a jump at the net, the future position of the CPU was wrongly calculated, which could lead to very abrupt back bending
- Animation : when missing the ball, the animation could jerk a bit
- Animation : when the CPU didn't calculate correctly when he was going to hit the ball, the animation could get very weird & jerking (I'll fix that miscalcution another time ; I just fixed its consequences on the dynamic animation in this update :fear: )
- World Tour : fixed a crash when something wrong happen when selecting a new doubles partner
- World Tour : reloading a game when just played 2 tournaments on the same week was messing up the Activity log
- Animation : fixed a frozen animation when trying to smash a ball too high to be hit
- Animation : fixed a couple of animation issues when the CPU player was late to play a smash
- AI : when running backward, the CPU could hit the ball before the bounce while he had decided to actually hit it after the bounce
- HUD : the indicated stress from playing against a lower-ranked player was much bigger than what it really was
- HUD : the aiming preview was turned a bit too much when aiming to the left or right
- Gameplay : the stress from playing against a lower-ranked player cannot lower anymore when starting the 2nd serve
- Physics : the ball would go more easily wild always on the same side (ie: left or right)
- Replay : starting/stopping a replay during a gesture that moved the racket was leading to the racket being mispositioned
- Replay : viewing a point replay could create desyncs during the match replay (it may still not be fixed at 100%, as it's pretty hard to reproduce that bug :fear: )
- World Tour : on saved game reload, some of the Prizes from Pro tournaments were $0 during the year you had decided to turn pro
- World Tour : during the fictional years, on saved game reload, the low-ranked players in the base who got a fate of future top players were seeing their mental skills reset to their original values, making all the other skills way too high
- World Tour : when starting a Season Mode career, picking more than 1 player was leading to wrong starting age & skills

Notes :


- Controls : if you don't play with the default strike mapping, you'll have to redefine all your controls to your liking

here the version 1.0d of TEM2 ; it's the 1st maintenance yearly update, without too much stuff. The game shall still be improved from your feedback & some of the TE4 enhancements over the years, though..! ːsteamhappyː

New Features :


- Player : rankings updated to the end of 2020 (this year will be mostly fictional and ignore the issues from Covid)
- Planning : added a filter to see only the currently booked tournaments

Bug Fixes :


- 3D Match : fixed a bug making the players weirdly bend when they were missing low balls from just a bit
- 3D Match : fixed a bug making the racket jitter a tiny bit when missing a ball by just a bit
- 3D Match : the 1H-Backhand #1 had the off-hand jittering during the preparation

- Menu : it was not possible to change the language if the language was set to English in the Steam Library game settings and had never been changed before

Tennis Elbow Manager 2 officially released on Steam !

After 2 years in Early Access, Tennis Elbow Manager 2 is now officially released on Steam.

Although it hit version 1.0 in July 2019, I had let it in Early Access to encourage you to provide feedback.

I did several updates and now we're on v1.0c. The v1.0d is a bit delayed because I was taken with preparing the release for Tennis Elbow 4 in Early Access on this Firday, and thus it will hopefully come in a few days with updated player bases (and no other significant changes).

I will continue to work on TEM2 from time to time, and the game will still get enhancements from the development of Tennis Elbow 4.

Of course, I'll also try to fix any reported bug.

Tennis Elbow 4 coming in Early Access !

Tennis Elbow 4, the long-awaited sequel to Tennis Elbow 2013, will be released in Early Access on Steam on June 4th.



It has been already available from managames.com for almost 2 years now, and the game is already more complete than TE2013, except its Modding support is still limited.

TE4 current main improvements are :
- Improved visuals, including new players, 9 stadiums and 9 more coming
- Reworked physics so everything is more realistic ; as the main example : now if you hit a ball when mispositioned and/or too late, it'll always have a chance to end in the net or go wild
- Redesigned menus
- Dynamic animation so the players always put their racket on the ball (it still needs tuning to look ok in all situations)
- Men Tour starts in 1973 & Women Tour in 1983
- Junior Tour
- Future fictional years are generated in real-time, so each playthrough sees different top players in the future
- Olympiads

The future main area of improvements will be the animations, but it'll have also new content : mainly new stadiums & a single tournament mode.
