Happy 2023 to you all - we hope it will be an amazing year for you and for Terraria! The team is back in action after a well-needed break over the month of December (which is why we had no State of the Game to provide for that month) - and work on Terraria 1.4.5 is in full swing. As you can imagine, most of the new stuff we have planned for this update is not quite ready to be shown. However, we have been able to provide a tidbit or two that we hope you will enjoy and that will increase your anticipation for this latest update. 2023 is going to be quite the year for Terraria, based on what is in our plans. Hopefully, it will go down as the year of Terraria Crossplay, amongst other things. As always, we enter this new year energized and empowered by your amazing support. We cannot wait until you can see what is in store.
Here's to another fantastic year of Terraria!
PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA - 1.4.5 IS UNDERWAY!
As you may have heard, the team finished off the needed hotfixes for the Labor of Love update in November, and it seemed like a great time for the team to take a little break to spend time with friends and family in order to recharge our collective batteries. Mission accomplished on that front, and we are already hard at work with the next Terraria update that we teased just before we left for the year in 2022. (If you missed it, check that out HERE)
Most of the first few weeks of 2023 have been spent in planning out the scope of the 1.4.5 update and getting a few things rolling. As a result, we do not have a ton to showcase at this stage... but rest assured that when we have spoilers to share, we will do so. You know we won't be able to help ourselves!
We hope that at least gives you a little glimpse into what we have in store for 1.4.5. To be sure, there will be plenty more to share as development carries on. For now, here's to 2023 starting off with a bang!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
We've completed our localization rework for 1.4.4 and we are very excited to have modders using this new system soon. As always, we strive to improve the modloader with large amounts of bugfixes and features. This month saw some notable changes such as family share usability, speed improvements when publishing mods, tooltip fixes, and a whole host of changes to allow mods to function better.
With the localization overhaul completed, we are getting close to having a testing build ready. Our rough plans with the test build will be to put it on our Preview beta and give modders up to 2 months to play with it, update their mods, and provide feedback on bugs. If all goes perfectly, we hope to have this test build available before the end of February.
TMODLOADER STEAM WORKSHOP
The TML Steam Workshop has over 3200 mods already! Coupled with the in-game mod browser, the TML Steam Workshop is a great way to explore what modded Terraria has to offer - check it out today by clicking the banner above!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TML?
As we shared above, we will continue to make TML better and better - and try our best to get ready for whatever 1.4.5 has in store!
As always, you can keep track the current progress and much more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
The team at DR Studios was also able to enjoy a relaxing break over the holidays, after bringing everyone up to content parity once again by the end of 2022! It is so exciting to be able to do a sync launch and then push through all of the needed fixes by year-end and to have all Terrarians together.
Of course, we cannot begin work on 1.4.5 until there is actually content in 1.4.5 to move over... so we have started off the new year by working to upgrade the core engine and software library versions in preparation for the release of cross play. This ensures that we have a stable foundation for the years ahead. In addition to that, we are fixing as many bugs as possible along the way - so please continue posting them in the forums for us to look into and fix!
Our plan is to get all of this Console/Mobile specific work done in parallel to 1.4.5 and then dive right into 1.4.5 and once again launch alongside PC. After that, we will be fully focused on solving the technical and other challenges of Crossplay! Wish us luck!
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

It has been a ton of fun to keep innovating and bringing out cool new Terraria merch for everyone to enjoy. We also love having it all over our respective offices, homes, etc. 2023 will be no exception, as we will at long last be able to roll out some amazing pieces that we have been working on for some time.
The time is not QUITE right to share any of this... but stay tuned for what is to come.
In the meantime, all Town Slime Plush and the Cultist Hoodie should be back in stock this week at Terraria.shop after the Holiday rush sold them out!
TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES - FINAL SHIPMENTS FROM BOOK ONE SHOULD ALL BE EN ROUTE!
After some hiccups late in 2022 - which caused the shipments of Issues 3&4 (as well as Issues 1-4 bundles as a result) to be delayed into the distribution centers for 50 Amp - we are happy to share that all of these shipments are on their way. Be on the lookout for your package - some may arrive even before the tracking numbers do for you (long story short, they have to enter tracking numbers to send to you by hand, and they wanted to get the boxes out first and then worry about that after). Anyone with an active order should have received an email with this information over the past week or so.
So, if you ordered Issues of the Terraria Graphic Novel, keep an eye on your mailbox (unless you bundled Issues 1-4 together... in which case, you have to wait a bit longer)! If you would like to check on the status of your particular order - or ask any other questions - feel free to contact 50 Amp at help@50ampproductions.com.

Terraria State of the Game - November 2022
Greetings Terrarians!
Thanksgiving is here, and this is always a great time for our team to reflect on the earlier parts of the year as a reminder of just how blessed we are to have such amazing fans and for the opportunity to do what we do each and every day. This feeling is perhaps stronger this year than in the past, owing to the Labor of Love update - how it came about, how we built it, and your reactions since it was released. Starting 2022 with a Steam Award that you all voted to give us, being inspired by that to make a truly fan-focused update, and then interacting so much with the community to share ideas... what a year it has been! We know we say it all the time, but we are truly thankful for all of you out there. You make this fun and worthwhile, even after all this time. Heading into 2023, we are already looking forward to what Terraria 1.4.5 will have in store for everyone - and we hope you are as well. Enjoy the Holidays, Terrarians, and thank you so much for being who you are and for all of your support for our team!
PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA - LABOR OF LOVE FIXES COMPLETE
Another month, another set of hotfixes for Labor of Love! You all have been really on the ball in getting us detailed and useful reports since launch. So much so that we have already released nine hotfixes since release! At this point, we feel like things are in a good place based on current reporting and our own observations. Thus, it is our plan to call 1.4.4.9 the "final" fixed version of Terraria 1.4.4 - meaning that the team can now turn its attention towards 1.4.5 and beyond.
Prior to that, however, the team will be taking a bit of time to spend time with friends, family, and probably a new game or three. Expect the news to be a bit light in the meantime... but we will be back at it soon enough with glimpses and spoilers into the latest and greatest in the world of Terraria!
Of course, feel free to keep those bug reports coming in. Be sure to use the Bug Report section on Terraria Community Forums for the best chance to be certain that your specific issue is not missed!
Alternatively, you can report things in the LOL launch thread or on the pinned discussions here on Steam.

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
We've just about caught up to vanilla Terraria, version-wise, and have tML running well in the 1.4.4 era. We are actively discussing with the modding community on when to make the swap over to this latest version as the default/live version of tML. In addition to the "coming soon" 1.4.4 compatibility, several contributors are actively working on ways to bring new features to modders, which we will delve into at a later date. As always, we are more than happy to have more hands on deck getting these features accessible - so don't be shy if you feel like you could contribute!
As we look towards closing out our initial porting efforts for tML 1.4.4, our eyes are turning back to improving tML with some long overdue localization upgrades on the horizon. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming overhauls!
As we shared above, once we have successfully moved tML 1.4.4 over into the default/live space (along with any needed fixes), we will be turning our attention towards needed localization as well as some new potential features for modders. More to come on that once we get past the release of 1.4.4!
As always, you can keep track the current progress and much more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
The team at DR Studios was able to get Terraria 1.4.4.5 (along with some bonus fixes) out to everyone over the past month. We are also excited to reveal that we have submitted the second "wave" of Terraria fixes to first parties this morning. We expect this to roll out to players starting later today, as the various companies (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, etc.) approve and release the update.
This will bring Console and Mobile back in line with the PC version at v1.4.4.9! What a great way to end the year!
Mobile Dedicated Server users - you will need to update to the 1.4.4.9 Dedicated Server > HERE
Crossplay planning is also in full swing, and we feel pretty good and confident with where we have netted out in those discussions. Of course, having a great plan is only one part of a much larger and longer effort to try and make Terraria Crossplay happen. Once we are able to get a better sense for if our plan will be acceptable on the Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/Apple/Google side of things, we will try to share as much about our approach as possible - and maybe even tease you with a spoiler or two.
Oh, and a lot depends on what goes into 1.4.5 and when it arrives as well - we can't have Crossplay without everyone being on the same version, after all!
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES - SHIPMENTS ARE GOING OUT!
In case you missed it, shipments for Issues 1 & 2 have been going out over the past few weeks - and we have to say, we are really blown away by the quality now that we have had our own chance to see it in person. Here is a quick photo from one of our team members to show you just what we mean: So, if you ordered Issues of the Terraria Graphic Novel, keep an eye on your mailbox (unless you bundled Issues 1-4 together... in which case, you have to wait a bit longer)! The order windows for the initial shipments of Issues 1-4 may have passed, but you can still order your package of choice for delivery in the second shipment - likely in early 2023.
TERRARIA LABOR OF HALLOW'S EVE CONTEST FINALISTS AND COMMUNITY VOTING
All of the entries are in for the Labor of Hallow's Eve contest... and holy crap, you all blew us away with the sheer number and quality of the entries. It has taken us a few weeks to whittle down from nearly 1,000 entries to a list of semi-finalists, and then the Re-Logic team has taken the honors of picking our Category Winners. As a reminder, the winner of each category wins some fabulous prizes - and becomes a Finalist for the Grand Prize: a real-life Meowmere Sword!
The Grand Prize will be decided by Community Vote - so you will want to check out the thread below to see who won each Category and to see how to vote for the Ultimate Winner!
We also put together a "Showcase" of some of the really cool entries that might not have quite made it to the top - but that we feel everyone in the Community should see! TERRARIA LABOR OF HALLOW'S EVE - SHOWCASE THREAD
Thank you so much to everyone that entered. This was beyond any doubt the most brutally hard contest we have ever had to judge. Really, any number of the top 25 (or more) in some categories would have been legit winners... but, there can be only one!
GAME JOLT x TERRARIA EVENT
In case you missed it, Skeletron Prime invaded GameJolt a week or so ago! Brave players from the Community were able to craft weapons and take the fight to the infamous mechanical evil... and thwart whatever its evil plans happened to be!
A hearty thank you to the Terrarians that took part in this event and saved the day. If you haven't checked out the Terraria Community on GameJolt, there is no better time than now!
A NEW GRAND PRIZE WINNER ON THE TERRARIA DISCORD SERVER

2022 Terraria Holiday Shopping Guide
Happy Holidays, Terrarians!
2022 has been a heck of a year in the world of Terraria. We started off the year with the fantastic news that you all had voted us the winners of the 2021 Labor of Love Steam Award, later to be recognized in amazing fashion with the Labor of Love update release on all platforms at once - a first for Terrarians! We also saw the release of the first four issues/Book One of the Terraria Graphic Novel series alongside a ton of other cool merch. Topping it off, we shared the news a bit ago that Terraria 1.4.5 is coming your way in 2023... hopefully with Crossplay to come sometime after that. As always, we are beyond thankful for the loyalty and support that you all have shown us over the years. We do not take it lightly, and we can only hope that you feel that we have and will continue to do that support justice.
All that said, the Holiday Season is indeed upon us - and coming with that is the usual Holiday Shopping season! We have really made concerted efforts over the past 3-4 years to build out a pretty extensive line of Terraria products and merchandise for fans to pick up and enjoy... or to give as gifts to the other Terrarians in their lives. There have been several new additions to those offerings this year, and we are going to reveal even more in this post - just in time for the Holidays. So, consider this your 2022 Terrarian Holiday Shopping Guide - and if you are so inclined, take a look at what all there is on offer and maybe pick up something cool for yourself or a loved one. Happy Holidays!
TERRARIA MERCHANDISE STORE HUB
Throughout the year, best place to be able to see all of the available Terraria merchandise listed in one place is our Terraria Merchandise Hub (terraria.org/store). This is constantly updated, with all current Terraria merch collected in one place to make shopping for gifts (of gifts for yourself) easy. Click the banner above to check it out!

Click on any product you are interested in to head on over to where you can buy it!
Last week, we released the 2023 Terraria Wall Calendar along with our partners at Poster Foundry! You can pick this up directly from their website if you are in the US... or they have it listed on Amazon as well for non-US fans.

We have seen a lot of amazing new Terraria merch come out over the past several months. Perhaps you missed seeing it at the time or you wanted to wait until a later date to check it out. Well, allow us to catch you up on these amazing pieces!
TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES
Though the initial shipments of the first four issues of the Terraria Graphic Novel Series have gone out, there is still a chance for you to place your order for future shipments (likely to arrive in early 2023, to be clear)! There are a variety of packages for each issue, from "just the comic" to a full box of some pretty sweet Terraria collectibles. Keep an eye out for the release of Book One (Issues 1-4 combined) as well as news about Book Two next year!
TOWN SLIME PLUSH? TOWN SLIME PLUSH!
Who doesn't love the new Town Slimes from the Labor of Love update? Who doesn't love epic plushies? Put the two together, and you have the absurdly awesome Town Slime plush collection! Click the banner above to check out the Town Slime Plush as well as other Labor of Love merch!
NEW TERRARIA SHADOW BOXES AND DESKTOP ART FROM ARTOVISION
Following up the previous awesome shadowbox and desktop art releases for Terraria (seriously, the Underworld Shadowbox is amazing...), our friends at Artovision have brought two brand new pieces out just before the Holiday season:
You can pick either of these two new pieces over at Artovision's Website - and be sure to check out the rest of the Terraria Collection while you are there!
CHECK OUT THE REST OF THE EXISTING TERRARIA MERCHANDISE LINE
Of course, the new stuff is always great to see - but we would be remiss to not remind everyone about all of the other amazing Terraria merchandise that is out there. Again, check out the merch hub linked at the top of the page if you want to check out absolutely everything in one place. You can also click on any of our partners' logos below to be taken to the Terraria storefront on each partner's website.
That's it for our 2022 Terraria Holiday Shopping Guide, everyone. We wish you all Happy Holidays - and just know that, as in years' past, our entire team spends a lot of time reflecting on just how thankful we are for each of you. Have a fantastic Holiday Season - and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for Terraria in 2023!
Terraria 1.4.5 is Coming in 2023 - including Terraria x Dead Cells!
Greetings, Terrarians!
We are very happy to share that Terraria has made its way into the insanely good metroidvania hack-and-slash roguelite, Dead Cells! As always, we are thrilled to collaborate with our fellow top-notch indie developers out there.
If you want the full scoop behind the new Terraria content in Dead Cells, check out the details of their update (that landed today) below! Click the Banner above to check out everything there is to know about the latest Dead Cells update!
Check out the trailer for today's Dead Cells update, including Terraria x Dead Cells!
Starfury wielded by The Guide in Dead Cells!
Wait a second, we hear you saying... shouldn't a crossover have content on both sides? Why indeed it should! That's why we are revealing today that Terraria 1.4.5 - at least part of which will include Terraria x Dead Cells content - will be coming your way in 2023!
Work on this update will begin in earnest when the team starts work in the new year - and after all of the needed hotfixes for 1.4.4 are completed. What all will Terraria 1.4.5 contain? Well, you will just have to wait and see when the time comes.
We hope this will help to get everyone hyped for the end of the year and what is to come in 2023 (which will also hopefully be the year of Crossplay... cross your fingers)!
Stay tuned for more information in the weeks and months ahead!
Terraria State of the Game - October 2022
Greetings Terrarians!
After a month off - I mean what would the "State of the Game" have been, "Labor of Love is out, go play it instead of reading this"? - we are back once again with the latest and greatest news from the world of Terraria. It has been a month of bug fixing for all of our teams and that work should continue for at least a bit longer. What's next after that? Well, we have already had a few meetings about Crossplay strategy... so that's a thing. Beyond that, you will have to wait and see what we might have in mind in regards to what direction our team decides to head. For now, let's head out for some spooktacular treats - and maybe only a few tricks. Happy Halloween!
PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA - LABOR OF LOVE GETS FIXES (BOI)
On the Re-Logic side of development, we have been solely focused on hotfixes for the Labor of Love update. In less than a month, we have managed to get seven hotfixes out to everyone, and we are already underway with number eight. As always, we greatly appreciate your detailed reports and your patience as we sort out the inevitable bugs that crawl out of the woodwork with any update release.
While we certainly are keeping an eye out for bugs everywhere we can, be sure to use the Bug Report section on Terraria Community Forums for the best chance to be certain that your specific issue is not missed!
Alternatively, you can report things in the LOL launch thread or on the pinned discussions here on Steam.
STEAM WORKSHOP NEWS
Click the banner above to check out the Terraria Workshop!
Closing in on 68,000 packs and worlds so far, you are missing out if you haven't taken the time to check out the Workshop yet. We wanted to get a Developer's Choice done before Labor of Love, but we ran short on time... so there is still a chance to get yours loaded for our review!
When the fixes are done, expect a period of focused attention on cleaning up some stuff. This keeps getting delayed by work on 1.4.4 and its fixes... but it has not been forgotten.
WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON?
Nothing? Just fixes and more fixes... with maybe one half of one eye looking in the direction of discussing how we might best approach Crossplay.
TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
Bug fixing continues unabated, with a focus on some resolution issues as well as making some improvements on game starting as well as server hosting. We expect this work to continue for some time as we work to make the TML experience as fantastic as possible.
Other members of the team have been able to take a good amount of time to focus on bringing TML up to the 1.4.4/Labor of Love era. This work is going very well, though we really cannot give any sort of solid timeline for this release - in large part because Re-Logic is still putting out hotfixes! We have been doing all that we can to work closely with Modders as well in order to ensure a reasonable and smooth transition to 1.4.4, and not just breaking every mod day one.
More on timing when we can provide an accurate estimate!
TMODLOADER STEAM WORKSHOP
The TML Steam Workshop is closing in on 3000 mods already! Coupled with the in-game mod browser, the TML Steam Workshop is a great way to explore what modded Terraria has to offer - check it out today by clicking the banner above!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TML?
Getting TML to 1.4.4 and making that launch as smooth as we can is the core focus of the team for the next little while. The team has some ideas beyond that, but we really want to focus on the short term needs for now.
As always, you can keep track the current progress and such more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
The team at DR Studios is working hard to keep pace with the PC fixes, while also working on some Console and Mobile specific bugfixes. 1.4.4.1 should already be in the hands of everyone, and we are happy to share that 1.4.4.5 is live for iOS and Android as of this morning!
- Amazon and Google "Trial" versions are trailing behind a bit. Amazon should submit tomorrow. "Trial" will be delayed further due to an additional requirement requested by Google during submission. - Console versions of 1.4.4.5 are expected to be submitted to first parties within the next couple of days at worst.
Beyond that update, we will be looking to continue with fixes until we reach the same final version as PC (whatever that turns out to be haha), and we feel like we are in a good place with fixes on Console and Mobile. On top of this, we are already in the planning stages for our attempts at Crossplay. The team has a good sense for where we currently stand as well as the potential issues that lie ahead. We will share more details of our plan once we have it a bit more fleshed out.
Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

Terraria Graphic Novel - Book One, Issue Four Orders Now Open!
Greetings, Terrarians!
Here we go - the conclusion to Book One of the Terraria Graphic Novel Series! All of the preparations have been made and it is time for our heroes to do battle with the dreaded Eye of Cthulhu. How will they fare? What will happen in the aftermath? Read on to find out!
In case you missed our earlier announcement about the series as a whole, you can check out those details HERE, and you can still get your orders in for the initial shipment of Issue Three for a little bit longer. We have been really impressed with the array of packages and options 50 Amp has put together for this release... and we hope you agree!

TERRARIA: LABOR OF LOVE UPDATE NOTES
QUALITY OF LIFE
GEAR LOADOUTS
Terraria has always been a game where the player is constantly shifting roles - Dig, Fight, Build is the tagline, after all! Previously, this meant a lot of shifting around of gear sets and the like... but with Labor of Love, players will at long last have access to a set of three gear loadouts! This will allow players to create different gear setups ahead of time and seamlessly swap between them as needed.
EVOLVED VOID BAG
For those of you who aren't already familiar with the current version of the Void Bag, it is a portable personal storage container similar to the Money Trough. Uniquely, it also has the ability to automatically pick up any extra items whenever your inventory is full. However, we have added expanded functionality to the Void Bag to further enhance its role as a supplementary inventory.
For starters, the Void Bag can now be opened or closed with Right Click. When in the Closed state, it will deactivate its ability to pick up extra items, and act just like second Money Trough. When in the Opened state, however, a variety of new functionality becomes available!
Any crafting materials kept within the Void Bag will be available for any crafting recipes! You will not have to directly access the storage, or summon the portal, to be able to immediately craft with anything inside of the Void Bag!
Healing, Mana, and Buff Potions stored in the Void Bag can be used directly via their respective Quick Hotkeys. You can store all of your favorite buff potions in the Void Bag and simply refresh at any time! Mana Flower auto-potion functionality will work with the Void Bag as well! Enterprising players might keep some core buff potions in their regular inventory, with a secondary set of specialized buff potions in the bag. Depending on which mode the Void Bag is in, this will allow players to effectively hold two different potion "loadouts" at a time!
You can now Favorite items stored within the Void Bag. This has been added because you can ALSO Quick Stack to Nearby Chests anything inside of your Opened Void Bag. Favorite the things you want to keep, and then use Quick Stack for faster chest sorting!
Using Loot All on a chest with a full or nearly full inventory will deposit any overflow directly into the Void Bag
There are a number of other items which will function automatically when placed in a Open Void Bag, as they would when in the player's inventory, including:
Info Accessories
Paint Sprayer, Presserator, and any accessories that grant Wire, Actuator, or Ruler vision when in the inventory
The Guide to Critter Companionship
Keys stored in the bag can be used to open Chests
Wormhole Potions
INVENTORY IMPROVEMENTS
Most stackable items have had their max limit increased to 9999!
That's right folks, you can once again place any accessory in your social slots.
To help you keep track of what is going into which chest, Quick Stack to Nearby Chests now has a visual effect, showing the items which are being quick stacked moving towards the chests.
KEEP COUNT WITH NUMERICAL HEALTH BARS
No longer wonder how much health you have left - even on the fancier health bars! (Toggle this on/off in settings)
Having to hover over the boss to see just how close you are to defeating it is a thing of the past!
ROPE INTERACTION IMPROVEMENTS
Rope has always been a useful tool since it was added to Terraria, but it has never really played nice with other handy exploration tools such as minecart tracks and platforms. Labor of Love fixes up that little problem - ropes, cart tracks, and platforms... living together... mass hysteria!
This is just a small sampling of the Quality of Life improvements we have made in Terraria: Labor of Love! Be sure to dive into the full changelog for all of the juicy details!
You ever wonder what would happen if you took every seed in the game - including the new ones from Labor of Love - mashed them together, and then spent the extra time to playtest this new seed and polish it until it is "just right". Oh, and then for good measure, you tossed in a few features and dynamics unique to that seed?
Wonder no more, for the Zenith Seed is here! We consider this to be the true Magnum Opus of Terraria World Seeds - a version of Terraria that is equal parts unique to play and a whole new level of challenge for the most hardened Terrarians. Take on this seed only if you dare, for it may truly break you - Get Fixed Boi!
DON'T DIG UP - THE REMIX SEED
An idea first discussed during the release of Journey's End, Don't Dig Up turns the world of Terraria upside down - literally! The player will begin their adventure in the depths of the underworld, complete with all new flora to help provide early resources.
As the player ascends into "The Up", however, the threats will magnify exponentially until they reach the Surface - a truly horrifying and inhospitable place that will test the mettle of even the most seasoned Terrarian. Rethink everything you know, but Don't Dig Up unless you are prepared for what comes next!
NO TRAPS - THE NO TRAPS SEED
You know what is the worst? When you are out exploring in the world of Terraria and you get blown up by an explosive trap... or even worse, squashed by a nasty boulder! Well, the team wanted to make a World Seed that was designed with Terrarians who really hate traps in mind.
IMPROVEMENTS TO EXISTING WORLD SEEDS
In developing the three new World Seeds for Labor of Love, the team gained some new insights into how to really make world seeds feel special. Thus, we took the extra time to revisit some of our existing seeds in order to spruce them up a bit. For some seeds, these changes are relatively minor. However, the Celebration Mk 10 and For the Worthy seeds have seen some pretty substantial tweaks. Regardless, it is very much worth it for Terrarians to check out all of the existing World Seeds once again with these new changes in place!
Of course, this is just scratching the surface for all there is to know about World Seeds in Labor of Love - be sure to check out the full changelog linked below for all of the details!
Slimes are widely considered to be non-sentient beings: mindless blobs of gel that aimlessly bounce about throughout the world of Terraria. Recently however, Terrarian Slimeologists have discovered what appears to be a new evolution in slime kind... some sort of big, blobby, smart slimes. Well, smart by slime standards at least.
The denizens of Terraria have dubbed these new creatures "Town Slimes", for their penchant to attempt to dress up and try to fit in with Terrarian society. Thus far, the discovered variants include:
Cool Slime - The backwards hat is a clear giveaway that this is one hip slime indeed
Clumsy Slime - No one is quite sure how that arrow got stuck in his head, but he seems to like it...
Surly Slime - This guy has a bad attitude and keeps running afoul of the law
Nerdy Slime - Clearly smarter than all other slimes, as evidenced by the glasses
Elder Slime - Back in his day, you had to jump over single block tall heights and you had to dig up blocks before replacing them
Diva Slime - Yes, even slimes have celebrities... and yes she is better than you
Mystic Slime - This slime is in touch with the natural energies that flow throughout Terraria
Squire Slime - Ready to defend the kingdom from all threats, wielding the most powerful weapon known to Slimekind
This cast of characters is packed with personality, and players who are brave and clever enough to seek them out during their adventures will have the chance to have all eight Town Slimes move in to their towns/bases! Best of luck on your search for the Town Slimes - gotta catch 'em all!
NEW USEFUL ITEMS TO AID YOUR ADVENTURES
You used to call me on the Cellphone, but now that Labor of Love is here, all the cool kids are using the Shellphone! This handy device allows you to choose the destination of the magic mirror function - Initial Spawn, Home (Bed), Ocean, or Underworld!
Terraformer - we have taken the Clentaminator and made it stronger, faster, better. We have the technology!
Lilith's Necklace will allow you to transform into a wolf during your adventures - because who doesn't want to channel their inner wolf!?
NEW BLOCKS AND DECOR
What Terraria update would be complete without some fancy new decorations and blocks to spruce up your bases, arenas, and more! Here are a few fun examples:
Reef Blocks and Coral Furniture
Brand New Paintings - Designed by the Team, Testers, and Community
A Blast from the Past - Ancient Blocks Relive the Early Days of Terraria!
Have You Ever Wanted to Place Heart & Mana Crystals as Decorations? Sure you have!
NEW BUILDER TOOLS
On top of providing all new blocks and furniture for our builder friends, the team has added two new Terraria building tools that we think will really help you take your Terraria creations to the next level!
Hand of Creation - A New Tinker that will Make Building Easier than Ever!
Rubblemaker - At Long Last, the Fun Worldgen-based Stuff is at your Fingertips!
Check out these videos by Khaios and CheesyPaninie for full details - they do a better job showing these off than words could ever do!
ECHO AND ILLUMINANT COATINGS
New Coatings provide players with all new ways to design cool base/town effects and even more diabolical adventure maps!
Echo Coating, combined with the Echo Monolith lets you make things disappear! Now you see it, now you don't!
To help you really see the potential that Coatings can provide, Khaios and CheesyPaninie put together the video above - definitely give this a watch!
Of course, this is just a sampling of what we have added in Labor of Love - be sure to check out the full changelog linked below for all of the details!
The Melee "Class" has always had a bit of a reputation for being underwhelming and a bit of a struggle to use - particularly against very mobile foes. No, Zenith does not count - that is an endgame weapon that is devastating to use regardless of what "class" one wishes to place it.
Taking the dynamics of defense, damage done, mobility, etc. all into account, it was clear that the entire class needed a closer look to make the risk more worth the rewards when playing Melee. What all does this entail? We will not cover everything here, but this should give a good sense for our approach.
GLOBAL WEAPON TWEAKS
All broadsword-class melee weapons (this also includes pickaxes, axes, hammers, and hamaxes) now use local immunity frames on hit. Very notably, this means that projectile swords will no longer block their own piercing projectiles from hitting a target at point blank range. It will also result in more consistent hitting when mixing multiple sources of damage (Piercing minions and swords, for example)
Knockback when spinning flails has been increased from 25% to 35% of normal knockback Spinning flails now hit up to 4 times a second instead of 3 times a second. Flails which already hit 4 times a second have been increased to 5 times a second.
---
MELEE WEAPON STAT BUFFS
Many Melee Weapons have seen numerical improvements in raw damage, use time, reach, etc. Coupled with the global changes that impact how projectiles and "direct" hits coexist (eg. no longer conflicting with each other), this results in a substantial increase in DPS and utility for previously underwhelming Melee Weapons.
---
WEAPON REWORKS
Even with the changes listed above, some Melee Weapons felt like they needed a more significant reworking - visually, functionally, or both. Let's dive into a few examples, shall we?
Dark Lance - Now generates a shockwave at the end of the spear, which increases its effective range. This shockwave also scales in size with melee speed, so you can now expect more pronounced Melee Speed benefits for Dark Lance. Now inflicts Shadowflame as well.
Light Disc - now a single item, not 5 stacked items. As a result, it can now have prefixes. Players can now shoot up to 6 Discs at once instead of 5. Oh, and a cool new light trail effect.
Horseman's Blade - Now has an area of damaging energy around the blade, dealing damage in a larger, wider area of effect, including better coverage behind the player.
---
NIGHT'S EDGE/TERRA BLADE SWORD QUEST LINE
We felt that the Terra Blade "quest" that begins with Night's Edge in pre-Hardmode, continuing into Hardmode, culminating in players crafting the Terra Blade - really needed to feel a bit more important and meaningful to players who chose to take it on. As a result, Night's Edge and Terra Blade have seen a rework - as have each of their components! We have highlighted a few below... but the rest, we leave up to you to discover.
Blood Butcherer - Every successful strike on an enemy now applies a stack of "Blood Butchered", a short lived damage over time effect. Each of these stacks are signified by a gout of blood spouting forth from the enemy.
Volcano - Fiery Greatsword evolved into Volcano! Upon striking an enemy, Volcano will generate an fiery explosive area of effect, dealing additional damage to the original target and nearby enemies!
True Excalibur - True Excalibur now has a very large area of damaging energy around the blade, dealing damage in a dramatically wider area of effect, including better coverage behind the player. It no longer fires a projectile sword beam
BOSS TWEAKS
We have given several bosses a once-over during Labor of Love, so you will want to check out the full changelog for all of the juicy details. You don't want to be caught unawares, after all! That being said, we did want to highlight two bosses that have perhaps seen the most changes. As a result, we expect that players will find them to be a bit more challenging!
GOLEM What Terraria Balance Update would be complete without a buff to Golem? Continually seen as one of the easiest bosses in all of Terraria, the Golem fight needed more love from the team. What has changed? Take him on and find out!
DUKE FISHRON The Duke was once seen as one of the better boss fights in all of Terraria. He is still a solid experience, but we felt like he could use a bit of tweaking in order to help him return to a more prominent challenge that is worthy of how the game has evolved since his introduction. Head to the Ocean and fish him up in order to experience a fresh fight!
PUMPKIN MOON OVERHAUL
Let's face it, the good old Pumpkin Moon was starting to show its age a bit. Once considered a challenge event, it has been relegated to the role of niche side content that doesn't really stand up to the skills and gear of the modern Terrarian. Well, fret not, Pumpkin Moon fans! We have reworked the Pumpkin Moon in order to bring it in line with other events of that same tier, such as the Frost Moon. What exactly did we change?
Pumpkin Moon is now a full 20 Wave event rather than its previous 15 Waves
Pumpkin Moon Enemies received some buffs, and the composition of each wave has changed...
The insane boss spam typical of the later waves of Pumpkin Moon has been cut back tremendously - this will not only challenge the player to play more optimally to rack up high scores, but will also likely put less strain on everyone's hardware.
Labor of Love has way too many balance tweaks to be able to cover them off here - be sure to check out the full changelog linked below for all of the details!
So, there you have it Terrarians. Our Love Letter to you. Terraria has been our Labor of Love for many years, and we hope that each of you have felt that come through in each update, in our interactions with you, and in the joy we have all received from playing this game over the years. Here's to Terraria, the Community, and many more fun times ahead!
Terraria Graphic Novel - Book One, Issue Three Orders Now Open!
Greetings, Terrarians!
We are back again - this time with the juicy details around the release of Issue 3 of the Terraria Graphic Novel Series! Issue 3 is all about the journey and getting to know some of our party of heroes a bit better - just as our friends are doing the same as they enjoy a quick meal while camped out at an oasis. In case you missed our earlier announcement about the series as a whole, you can check out those details HERE, and you can still get your orders in for the initial shipment of Issue Two for a little bit longer (details below - but don't fret if you miss the first shipment or if you missed out on Issue One, see the note below). Our team is once again thrilled with the packages that 50 Amp Productions has put together in support of the Graphic Novel rollout - and we hope you will feel the same way!
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM 50 AMP PRODUCTIONS
There seems to be a little confusion regarding the ordering window and our “cut-off date.” So we wanted to offer a little clarification.
The term, “cut-off,” does not mean that after that date, you will not be able to place an order. We intend for these items to remain available well after those dates. The ordering window is to ensure that we have your item in-stock and ready to ship during our initial shipping windows. Should we sell out, you will still be able to get the items, but there will likely be a delay as we must reorder at the manufacturers.
As shipping has not yet begun for issue 1&2 boxes, if you see the reveal of the issue 3 items and would like to amend your order, please email us at info@50ampproductions.com and we will be happy to help you. It is very important to us that fans are satisfied and are able to ensure their orders are complete and correct.
We also wanted to take a moment to thank you all for supporting this project. We consider ourselves lucky to work with Re-Logic on this and to be able to offer these books and collectibles to you, the fans. We will be throwing some fun extra goodies into every order from Copper to Platinum as a thank you. Now, on to the details!
As a reminder, we are planning to roll out Issues 1-4 (Book One) over the next few months, followed by a full Book One release to book sellers/retailers as well as available online some time in Q1 2023. Book One will contain all of the first four issues along with a few other goodies (still TBD, but think concept art and other "making of" work, stuff like that). All orders can be placed on the 50 Amp Productions Website - click the cover above to check it out!
Issue One orders start today, but here is the overall expected timeline:
TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL ISSUES 1-4 ORDER WINDOWS
Issue 1: Orders Open - August 11 --- Orders for Initial Shipment Close - September 12 Issue 2: Reveal Date - September 1 --- Orders for Initial Shipment Close - October 3 Issue 3: Reveal Date - September 22 --- Orders for Initial Shipment Close - October 24 Issue 4: Reveal Date - October 13 --- Orders for Initial Shipment Close - November 14
EXPECTED SHIPPING TIMING FOR ORDERS

We do not expect to run into any delivery issues, but there is always the potential for issues beyond our control. 50 Amp Productions are committed to communicating with the fans if any issue arises.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING COSTS UPDATE
Speaking of shipping, we know our international fans have sometimes run into some very high shipping costs (these are strictly pass-through costs based on whatever the shipping company is charging 50 Amp). We have been chasing down a variety of solutions to help bring these costs down, and we can at long last announce that we have found a way.
We have entered into a partnership which will allow us to offer another shipping option for our non-American customers. The short version is that by shipping international orders from our partner's European hub rather than our US-based warehouses, there is a good chance that we can cut all non-US shipping costs - often substantially.
Starting with our second issue on, we can provide this option to you! In addition, for Issues 2, 3, 4, and for our bundles - if you have already placed an order, we will be looking to see if this new option will save you money. If it will/does, we will be refunding the difference to the method of payment you used to make the purchase. Please be patient with us on this, as it could take us several days to process all of this, as we have to do the differences in shipping costs and refunds by hand. We will contact you afterwards if you should expect to see a refund.
Unfortunately, because we have already placed our orders with our manufacturers for issue 1 and the materials are all already at or en route to our American warehouse, we will have to utilize the initial shipping methods and costs - so we sadly cannot offer this option for issue 1.
We feel like this will allow us to help a lot of you save money, so we are very glad that we could find a way to make this happen, and we are SUPER appreciative of our partner in helping to make this a reality. Once we have this good and established, we should have this in place as our solution in the future.
Thank you for your patience and we apologize that the solution took a little bit to lock down!
TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL: ISSUE 2 ORDERS STILL OPEN
We are still taking orders for the initial shipment of the second issue of the Terraria Graphic Novel. In case you missed the news or you just decided after seeing Issue Two's cover that you are all in, we have you covered.

TERRARIA GRAPHIC NOVEL: ISSUE 3 PACKAGES
We hope you have enjoyed seeing the packages for Issues One and Two, and we are back again with a variety of packages for Issue Three that we think provides something for everyone. If you just want Issue 3 and that's it, we have that for you - or if you want to delve deeper and pick up some really cool Terraria collectibles, that is available as well. Similar packages with different items will be available for each issue release. We are using the order windows above in order to ensure our ability to ship by a certain date. Fans are free to order packages for all four issues at any time - if you know you want all four and want to be sure that you do not miss out - but the covers and packages themselves will be revealed via the timeline above.

All package prices do not include shipping costs, which will vary based on shipping location, etc. as a pass-through cost to the customer. For anyone looking to save on shipping costs, we are offering the option to either ship each package one at a time or to hold them all and ship them all at once. So, if you ordered Issues 1-4, we can either send them out each month or as one big box all at the end to help cut down on costs (but you will have to wait!).
That's it for now, Terrarians! Get your orders in now for Issue Three (and Issue Two while there is still time) and mark your calendars for the big reveal of the final part of Book One, Issue 4! We will answer any questions that you may have - and that we are able to answer.
We here at Re-Logic are really excited about this project and we personally enjoy how it has all turned out. We hope you agree!
