Invisible Man Enters The Terrordrome - Terrordrome: ROTL Update 21


New Content





  1. invisible Man is now a playable character and selectable on character selection screen, here is his bio from the Web Site

    A scientist and a well-equipped mercenary, Henry Griffin was plagued by his infatuation with cloak technology to better advance himself on the battlefield. His search for true invisibility resulted in him leaving the forces and perusing the rumors of special mediation techniques within the monks of the Tibetan mountains. Proving his theory of changing a physical object to be rendered invisible to the naked eye within a very specific frequency led his training to take a downturn finding himself tuning into a realm from beyond full of vicious creatures. Discovering a new world, Griffin took to researching it immediately traveling back and forth using leather clothing as protection noting down everything he can. Needing funding for this new project he took up a job as a mercenary for a vampiric CEO with his newfound powers despite the disapproval of his master.

  2. New Stage is now selectable named : Greenhouse this is the home stage for Invisible Man

  3. New Stage is now selectable named : Underground Lab this stage is the last selectable stage within the game and is mainly for story purposes. Here is the theme for this stage.

    Next content update will include character Arcade Intro and Outros that are current in process of being created. This will most likely be included in the first full release build after exiting Early Access.




Latest Improvements





  1. Online mode has gotten a revamp to allow for better Initialization of our rollback netcode. This also allow for better set up of matches allowing all users in the lobby to select if they want to be player 1, player 2 or just spectate.

    With this new lobby system there is now a chat window to allow for communication, this chat is set up to be PG so a strict filter is in place.

  2. Move sets are no longer preloaded when the game is launched reducing the memory overhead, as of this update we now load move sets from an asset bundle asynchronously allowing for faster loading times. This also helps any memory issues that previously was plaguing Steam Deck.

  3. Arcade mode has been reduced to only 8 total fights, 7 of which will be random from the whole roster.

  4. When on the final round while performing a combo if you get the opponents health below zero you will enter and OVERKILL state allowing your combo to continue. This gives you the opportunity to finish your opponent off with a Death Sentence. But due to certain limitations a re-stand or OTG isn't allowed during this state. So be mindful of the combo extensions you haven't used.

  5. AI difficulty has been adjusted as we had found that in some cases changing the difficulty settings in the options really effect the AI opponents behavior.

  6. Various stage changes and fixes mainly to the collision box for keeping cameras from not going out of bounds during moves in the corner.



Character Fixes





  1. Fixed an issue with all characters AI from not getting stuck in an endless loop of trying to dodge, this was due to the AI trying to dodge a projectile that was no longer on screen.

  2. Updates to all sounds for each character some issues with incorrect volume settings may still be present we're still looking in to these issues.

  3. Changes where made to the counter break animation this will appear as the opponent flashing red and performing a block animation. In most cases during a combo if performed successfully you'll see your character dodge the combo break allowing to continue your combo.

  4. Fixed an issue that would sometimes freeze the opponent after blocking certain moves while crouching.

  5. Fixed a lot of unintended loops for all characters.

  6. Sasquatch no longer has an EX version for his invisibility, previously this was meant to make him projectile Invulnerable but would make fully invulnerable from being hit.

  7. Cameras on certain moves have been adjusted in the corner allowing to show the action better and to not go out of bounds of the stage.

  8. Wendigo's Ice Spike move has been changed to a new move called : Summon Turn Pike This summons a spinning turning pike from the ground behind the opponent. If performed during a combo it will allow Wendigo to bounce the opponent back in to it. The Normal version allows for 3 hits while the EX version allows for 5 hits.





Invisible Man Gameplay Stream - Terrordrome ROTL Dev Stream

So we're moving forward with our next update plans and have decided not to create a game play trailer for Invisible Man. Instead we're going old school and showing full gameplay during a stream.

Once the full gameplay has been shown we'll be launching Update 21 on Steam and Epic Game Store and read patch notes on stream and maybe attempt to play some matches online.

Start time is around 11:30 AM CDT we should be live for at least 2 hours.

Terrordrome Reign of the Legends Development Update: April 2024

Greetings everyone and a happy warm welcome from the Terrordrome team.
we have been working hard the past few months continuing the develop Reign of the Legends as much as we can and we'd like to apologies for not creating a update for March.
The reason why we decided this was that we simply didn't have enough developed content enough to warrant a new update and as some are aware, some of us are still working full time jobs and it takes us away from developing the game quicker but now we have content to share with you today!

Wendigo has a brand new move!



This move is the turnpike!
when making the Wendigo we added a move called ice spike where the creature summons a giant spike of ice out of the ground which lifts the opponent off the ground.
when trying it out we found along with our testers that the ice spike felt a little 1 dimensional and unfun when labbing and we knew we could do better and create something more fun.
This new move has Wendigo summon a bony turnpike from the ground, the amalgamation structure of bones will rotate for a period of time creating a long lasting hit box that can hit your foe until it despawns.
since the move had been given to our tester/Patreon build of the game we have already seen our testers preform unique and creative combos with the move including summoning the pike behind the opponent and launching them into it creating a new juggle combo as if they were like playing a game of tennis.

Development of arcade intros and outros




As stated in the previous update we were working on intros and outros for the Arcade mode for every character in the game and now we have images to share with you!
We have for now censored the text for spoilers but this is what to expect in terms of artstyle that will be in all arcade branches going forward, So far we have completed both the intro and outro for Alex Van Helsing and the intro for Neverman.
We'd like to remind everyone that this is not the actual story mode or canon to the games story but what if scenarios that may have potentially happened in an alternate reality within the Terrordrome Reign of the Legends universe.

Online lobby fixes and adjustments



We have overhauled our lobby system.
Now when joining a lobby you can now choose to select if you want to be player 1 or player 2 as well as now being able to view friends matches if you are within the same lobby, at this time there's only 2 spectators maximum but we plan on adding more.
This new lobby also now comes with a chat box for those who want to discuss thing before and after the match.
Please keep in mind that this lobby is subject to change as we continue to develop it further.

Terrordrome: Reign of The Legends Development Vlog #7

Here’s the vlog you guys have been anticipating.
Today our lead designer Huracan will be going over stage polishing, Invisible Man and the future release plans for the game.

Terrordrome Reign of the Legends Development Update: February 2024

Early days of 2024 but we still strive and work on improving the game as much as we can with a newly polished stage, a new stage NPC and updates on what we develop next.

The Hidden Forest



Lots of new lighting made to this stage as well as more assets like trees rocks and other woodland architecture created by mother nature complimented with a slight mist in the background to provide a whimsical feel to the stage.

Introducing Jab the night guard



This is Jab, the night guard at the Erase Warehouse.
For those who find his name familiar this is Jab who is one of our biggest Patreon contributors as well as one of our finest members of the Terrordrome community and we decided to reward him as an in game cameo playing as the night guard working for Erase (one of Dracula's side companies).
In a future update you will find Jab in the background within the warehouse stage checking for any trespassers.

The Vlog

Lots of parts of development that are too important to explain through just the socials, this is why we're in the middle of creating another Video log of what we plan to do.

Terrordrome Reign of the Legends Development Update: January 2024

2024 is here and we'd like to wish everyone a happy new year!
As last month was the holidays we have spent the later half of the month with friends and family for festive celebrations which means are work load had slowed during that time and this update will be shorter for this reason.

Character sound polishing
We've gotten far with the sound polishing phase with Mr Hyde, The Lady in White and Dracula now finished!
we have now reach 10 sound polished characters out of 12, Only polishing for Wendigo and Spring Heeled Jack is left and will likely will be completed before this month is over.

Stage polishing

Stages are one of the hardest and one of the most expensive parts of the games development which means each adjustment takes time and money away from the development of other things but we have finished yet another stage!

Underground



Now with a revamp!
The underground we felt was one of our most bland stages out there so we took extra steps to bring more movement to the stage whilst still keeping the dark gritty atmosphere the stage was meant to portray.
we have added some more pillars in the background, a hole where light and water rains down from the surface and a mysterious staircase leading to the unknown.

Hidden Forest

This is the next stage we have decided to touch up and is in development as we speak, we apologies as we can't show any images of the progress at this time but be sure to tune in next month to see the new version of the Hidden Forest.

Terrordrome Reign of the Legends Development Update: December 2023

Due to a lot of work we apologies for how late this update is as we were focusing on stage and sound work.
setting up for the winter we have been working harder before we take a break during the festive holidays.

Invisible Man


Invisible Man is on edge to being completed development wise.
Since the last update we have incorporated his voice lines and at this time working up the budget to commission his final sound effects which will complete the entire character.
All that would be left is testing and the creation of his trailer which will release the same day he becomes available to the public.

Character sound polishing.

Character sounds are in the polishing phase and we are over halfway complete from finishing them.
So far characters from Frankenstein to T.H.I.S have been finished and some are already published for the public to play.

Stage polishing.

Stages are being refurbished with new visual appeal!
From lighting changes to complete asset overhauls, some of which we showed last update but here are the final result we'd like to share today!

Cemetery Crossroads



With Cemetery Crossroads we added more directional lighting from the lamps themselves, added light fog and made the cobbled ground more ragged and worn down level wise


Helsing Arcade



For Helsing Arcade we added LED lights to the arches on each side, a T-Rex statue centre piece now with a stand to hold it up.
This dino is special as it was a main character for a game we were unable to complete, maybe there's a possibility we can bring back this unannounced title in the future? who knows.
Finally on each side we have movie and event posters that take place in the Terrordrome universe and timeline, Looks like Dorian Grey used his Immortality to become a Hollywood Icon.


Dr Jekyll's Laboratory



This stage has had a complete overhaul with brand new assets added as well as some ratty rodents to help with the formula that he has spent a lifetime developing, seems to create some gigantisms with some subjects.


Realm of Reflection



Another stage with big changes, Mary's imagination and memory has grown more and has made additions to her world, most notably a train, skull bats and strange ghostly shells of people she knew before her death.

Terrordrome: Reign Of The Legends Update 20 Patch 2

Fixed some animation issues, sound changes, stage updates and balance changes.



  1. Alex Van Helsing balance changes and fixes :


    • Unreported issue, Helsing's P K M S no longer hits low twice and now after Punch hit's High.

    • Unreported Issue, Helsing's EX Flying Kick is now blockable on the final hit, this move is now
      punishable on Block.

    • Helsing's Bombs now explodes if he gets knocked to the ground.

    • Helsing's Low Bomb can only be cancel from a hit confirm, this removes an infinite block string.



  2. Update Character select screen, Stage select screen and VS loading screen to show the updated Cemetery.

  3. The following characters have had their sounds adjusted or changed, in the future more characters will have their sounds adjusted as we have begin full polish phase:



    • Frankenstein

    • Sasquatch

    • Alex Van Helsing



  4. Helsing's Arcade has had an adjustment to lighting and inclusion of other new props.



  5. Dr. Jekyll's Laboratory's has had a major overhaul with new lighting and inclusion of new props.



  6. Removed Neutral Up input from all Jump Cancels this was causing odd issues when done from certain moves.

  7. Fixed an issue not allowing blocking during the last frames from standing up from a knockdown.

  8. Fixed missing Grab reactions from Spring Heeled Jack's grabs vs Frankenstein.

  9. Sasquatch can no longer loop stand punch in the corner, as a result the second hit of his P M P string had it's start up adjusted from 22 frames down to 15.

  10. Fixed Sasquatch's Anti Air command grab from sometimes not doing any damage, also fixed an input issue with the EX version of this move.

  11. Fixed an issue with Wendigo's EX Command Grab using 2 bars of meter, also fixed an issue with this move causing an odd offset within the animation.

  12. Potential fix to Unleashed moves not working on certain characters, these moves are at the top of each characters move set giving these moves top priority. If you still experience this issue PLEASE reach out to BradSama on our discord, we really need everyone's help to get this sorted out.

  13. Limited the buttons to Start and Confirm button (Default layout Config Xbox A, PlayStation Cross or G Key) in order to skip Intros.

  14. Fixed the Default layout for Dual Sense controllers (PS5 Pad) this will also fix the Confirm button within the UI back to Cross. So if you had issues with this controller from previous updates try to Restore Defaults.

  15. Music is now enabled by default from a fresh install, previously an issue had caused this to be disabled.

  16. If Yes is selected on a fresh install to access your EGS friends list but the overlay is cancelled to login. You'll be logged in with Steam and not be asked to login to EGS again, you can login to EGS at a later time within the Settings menu. Once again you don't need an EGS account to play the game or play online.

Coding



Major Bug Fixes



With the recent update coming out later than anticipated, it allowed our lead coder Brad an opportunity to include more in the update. This included spectator mode, new blood effects, and more. Following the release of the recent major update, the team has been actively hunting for bugs this past month. This is a constant endeavor, as you know. It is a time-consuming, yet necessary step in our project's life cycle. Recently, we have found resolutions for hard freezes, improper animation placement, and online connectivity issues. Please report any bugs found in our discussion pages here on Steam or in our Discord.

Animations



Stage Polish



This month marks the beginning of future stage polishing. We have heard the criticism of our stages, and we couldn't agree more. They are in need of love. As you may have seen, the Cemetery Crossroads stage has received a revamp, and we plan to add more to existing stages. This topic is placed here as our lead animator Marc is taking time away from character animation to focus on stages. More details will be shared in following updates.

Characters



As mentioned above, character animations are set aside temporarily. The Invisible Man's animations are entirely complete, as all that is left for this character is integration. The first 2 of the 3 bonus fighters animations are complete as well. The final fighter has been modeled, however work on the final bonus fighter's animations has yet to start. More news on this topic will be covered in an upcoming vlog.

Other News



Project Scope



Recently, the team has made some significant decisions regarding the project's life cycle and road map due to increasing project scope and ambitions. The details of this will be further explained in our upcoming development vlog.

Dev Vlog 7



Due to personal matters, some of our team had stepped away temporarily. This resulted in an unfortunate and unexpected delay in developing our newest vlog, which had been scheduled for October. The vlog is still underway, now with greater information and updates. We have very important news regarding the project scope, bonus fighters, teases, and more. So stay tuned!
