AI Bots

In this update, AI cantrolled bots has been added to the game. You can choose between 4 difficulties (easy, medium, hard & extreme) and challenge them in
singleplayer or in local multiplayer.



Other changes:

  • Small tweaks to the rotation system (further changes will be done in future updates)
  • Pieces no longer have instant locking when on top of the grid
  • Some bugs that occured sometimes in online due to poor connection have been patched

Update 1/5/19

In this update, a new Battle has been introduced: Giant Battle. Now you can throw at other players supersized pieces and see how they deal with them!


Other changes to the game include:

  • Now you can play the game within a resizable windowed.
  • Initial rotation of the L and J pieces was changed.
  • The rotation system has been tweaked to allow more SRS twists.
  • The was an exploit were that game would detect a 180-rotation as a twist (when it wasn't). It has also been fixed.
  • Some other minor bugs have been fixed as well.

Gamemode Rework

The gamemodes have been reworked to be a tad less confusing and allow even more options. In this new update there are 4 gamemodes: Race, Timed, Survival and Endless.

Race


Race against opponents to see who can reach the objective faster. It can also be played on singleplayer, where you just try to reach the objective as fast as you can.
There are two options for this gamemode: the objective type (score, lines, color lines...) as well as the quantity required to win.


Timed


Try to achive as much as you can in a limited amount of time. This can also be player either in singleplayer or multiplayer.
This gamemode also has two options: the time limit and the objective type.


Survival


Try to stay alive for the longest. Last player standing wins. This is a purely multiplayer gamemode. If you try to play survival in singleplayer, it will be automatically set to Endless.
This gamemode has no options.


Endless


Same as Race, but without any limits. Just keep playing until all players have been eliminated.
This gamemode has only one option: the objective type.


Other



  • The top-out condition was also changed. Now in order to be eliminated, the piece must be fully above the playfield when it is locked. This will allow for some rather interesting comebacks.
  • Added pop-ups for the other players in online multiplayer.
  • Fixed a couple of visual bugs that would occur form time to time

Update 13/4/2019

Bug fixes:

  • Changed the S and Z colors (they were swapped)
  • Cheese now works as intended on online
  • Combo gamemode now works on online
  • Fixed several typos on the lobby screen and on the menu tooltips
  • Fixed the Left and Right rotations (they were inversed)
  • Fixed some online sync errors that would sometimes occur


Changes:

  • The battle bar of the other players in online multiplayer is now visible
  • Rebalanced most battles (especially Cubic Battle and Copy Battle).
  • Added soud effects to some power-ups
  • Added an in-game link to the official Discord server.
  • Removed the Global Chat system.

Multiplayer Fix

There had been some errors in the server. For the moment,
Online Multiplayer is being worked on.
I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused.

Edit: Online Multiplayer shuld now work as intended and the game should run fine.

Online Overhaul

The multiplayer system has been completely reworked. With this newly built scheme, it is now possible to play online & local multiplayer at the same time! By that what I mean is that now you can go to an online lobby with multiple local users and still be able with people around the globe.

Above we can see an example: I am playing with a friend in my house and at the same time we are playing with 12 other players on a lobby.

There are also some other small tweaks:

  • Added two new piece sets: No Line and Extreme

  • Added a new Battle mode: Speed Battle, where you can make your opponents go faster by clearing lines
  • Tweaked the Piece, Cubic & Line battles a bit
  • Added a new setting: Speed Change. This controls the rate at which the speed of the game will increase as you clear lines
  • Added one new skin and modified some existing ones
  • Fixed a couple of small visual bugs that occured when playing online multiplayer
  • Changed some menu tooltips to make them clearer and easier to understand

    The 'Wide' skin, one of the skins that was changed.

Global Chat Update

A Global Chat has been added in order to improve matchmaking and make it easier for players to find other players online. The chat shows the number of connected players at the time. It also flashes when a new message is received.

Patch 13/1/2019


  • Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause the Quick Join button to not do anything.
  • Fixed a bug that would make the Friends Only lobbies to not be joinable by anyone.
  • Added a 'Lobby List' header on top of the actual lobby list.

  • Introduced a new feature: Preview. This lets you change the number of pieces visible below the Next sign.
  • Tweaked the Hypersplit pieceset.
  • Added two new piecesets: Lite Pentominos and Lite Pentasplit.
