A huge new patch is available!

Hey everyone! We’ve just issued a huge Tharsis patch with bug fixes, new missions, a completely revamped tutorial, unlockable skull avatars, and more. We’ll post the full patch notes below, but I first wanted to remind everyone that they can always contact us at support@totallychoice.com with any bug reports, support requests, or anything else they’d like to chat with us about. We’re dedicated to making Tharsis the best game it can possibly be, so please don’t be shy about sending your feedback our way!

PATCH NOTES


  • Bug fixes galore
  • A completely revamped tutorial. We highly recommend you play through it if you’ve had a hard time understanding Tharsis!
  • Introduction of unlockable “skull” avatars. We’ll talk more about the unlock criteria as time goes on. For now, we want to see how many of you can figure it out without our assistance…
  • Smoother difficulty curve in Normal mode
  • Hard mode is now harder than ever
  • Five new missions available in Missions mode
  • Research mechanic now more streamlined and easier to understand

2/5 Build Update - Missions available now!

The first 5 missions are up and ready to go!

These are just the first, we're working on crazier scenarios and making tools to make stuff you haven't seen before. Let us know what you think or if there's something cool you'd want to see.

In this build we also added an indicator of incoming events to help you prepare better for your next turn.

1/19 Build update with stability improvements and tip text

New build just went live 5pm 1/19 addressing crashes on boot as well as an issue that would leave the user with a blank OK button that couldn't be progressed beyond. Build #938540 on the main branch.

- Fixed crashes for users with specific DirectInput drivers.
- Patched save issues.
- Added Strategies in the Pause, Main Menu, and game over screens to assist new players.

Patches for stability issues

Big updates for stability.

We just pushed 2 updates, one resolving instability caused by some USB peripherals.

The second switches us over to D3D9 to alleviate what should be the remainder of current known crashes.

Launch Day update!

Got a few fixes based on YouTubers, Reviews and Streams we've been watching, enjoy the game! We'll keep cranking on updates and DLC!

-Adjusted colors to differentiate Stasis and Void for color blindness
-Added ability to change the names of crew
-Allowed game over cutscene to be skipped by pressing Spacebar
-Fixed bugs related to Assist not always prioritizing based off of severity of Hazards (Injury, Void, then Stasis)
-Fixed mission complete screen displaying mission patch if less than 4 crew landed

Build update 1/8 - Update notes

New build up with a bunch more updates!

-Added a link to the upcoming tutorial video in the crew select so it is more prominent than in the options.
-Fixed a bug that you could click items appearing behind menus
-Dice physics weren't rolling as much as people would like so we made them more roll-y for better rolling. (Adjusted the friction and bounce characteristics of the dice.)
-Added a news feed!
-Added entry point for the upcoming free missions and extended content.
-Upgraded Unity engine version to improve Windows 10 support and overal game stability.

1/7 build update notes

- Changed icon to slightly different art.
- Fixed localization issues, in particular some text not pulling localized versions.
- Fixed leaderboard disconnection issues.
- Prevented pause during the tutorial.
- Fixed game over scoring not recording some stats.
- Fixed crew in module icons not updating correctly.
- Fixed module info toggle not always displaying necessary information in Ship View.
-Fixed graphical issue preventing particles from appearing properly
-Fixed an issue that prevented all the fun little monitors inside the modules from glowing and being pretty. Now they are pretty again.
-Fixed some VO timing/subtitle issues
