Hello everyone, as promised, I would release another part of update 1.5 on this wonderful anniversary day!
Here are the changes:
- Added a birthday cake - Added a few easter eggs - Fixed an issue with one of the ghost cats' mechanic - Removed a temporary part of the map - Removed the "restart" button on the in-game pause menu due to issues - Replaced the "restart" button with the original "quit game" button - Reduced the price of the base game and DLC by $1 USD
I know it's small but the other part should suffice :3
Thank you for playing the game! :3
Update 1.5!
Helloooooooooo!
It's finally here (partly heheh)
I've decided to split the update into two parts (the other will likely release on the 1 year anniversary of the game)
So here are the updates for part 1:
New:
- Added a static effect to make the cameras look more realistic. - Replaced the "Quit Game" button on the pause menu with a "Restart" button in case you'd like to instantly restart. - Added a new quality setting: Litter Box (heheh get it?) Anyways, this quality is the worst possible quality setting I could have possibly done for the game allowing more smooth gameplay at the expense of visual quality. - Added FIVE new OPTIONAL enemies to play against. They have been added to the start menu as an option for ANY DIFFICULTY! - Added new achievements for these new enemies!
Some details about the new enemies:
- Ghost versions of the original five cats have been added! - These cats cannot instantly kill you like the others, but they can get you in serious trouble
We'll start from the top and I'll give little details about the new mechanics:
- Ghost Lila: Ghost Lila's attack is unpredictable since she doesn't make a noise when she attacks, unlike every other ghost cat. If you get too close to Ghost Lila, she will force ALLcats to stop where they're going, and come straight towards you!
- Ghost Abby: She is a little nicer despite her evil looks. Ghost Abby likes to troll the other cats and slow them down for a period of time, giving you a chance to escape death!
- Ghost Oreo: She has possibly the evilest mechanic ever! If you get too close, she will temporarily make all cats invisible making them nearly impossible to detect!
- Ghost Katsu: Ghost Katsu just likes to troll you. You can see what she does for yourself :3
- Ghost Ginger: Ghost Ginger has a severe consequence for getting too close although she is a bit more patient than the other cats and will forgive you for being too close for a second. Any longer will cause her to growl which will cause every other cat to come straight towards you at alarming speeds!
Fixes:
- Further optimization in particular areas - Fixed one last basement out-of-map glitch (I HOPE :3 )
Alrighty, that's it for now...part 2 of this update will hopefully release in a few weeks for the 1 year anniversary!
Super Duper Tiny Bug Fixed
So yea lol,
I fixed a small little bug where if you jump on one of the beds, the map disappears. This was because the optimization box for the basement was 4 meters too small.
Whoopsies :3
1.4.1 Small little patch
Hello everyone,
I know it's been a while, and I promise I've been trying to work on new content. I've just been quite busy. This is a small update, but I promise I am trying to work on a bigger update for this summer (see here: )
But anyway, here are the changes:
Optimization
- Numerous objects (like bushes) have been further optimized to ensure the game runs smoothly.
Fixes
- Fixed an audio bug with the main bush constantly rustling after it's fallen. - The player camera (should be) always prioritized. In some instances (usually after the cats unfroze), the cat POV cam would be the main gameplay instead of the players. This should now never occur.
And that's all, folks. I promise there are going to be new things this summer :3
The Optimization Update!
Hello everyone!
It's been a little while but regardless, I'm still very excited for this update. Version 1.4 offers some great new overhauls and optimizations to make your game experience even better than before!
Alright here we go :3
New:
- Added major optimizations to the game! This will improve your framerate (fps) significantly if yours was low when playing before!
- New Main Menu Overhaul! The "settings/play menu" has been split up into a "start" and "settings menu." This was done to organize the settings and prevent confusion for new players! - Added a main menu friend to give you guidance :3.
- Added force on objects when you drop them. This will cause an object to be thrown in front of the player for more control over where the object lands.
- Added a new key lock combination safe (more on that later).
- Added a new room to the house! (Featuring a fun easter egg)!
- Added some more loading screen tips!
- Updated credits (as there are some new things to credit :3 )
Changes:
- Impossible mode has now been added to the difficulty dropdown. This was done to optimize certain problems with the way impossible mode used to be played out. Players can now choose the impossible mode anytime. (Although, I recommend starting on practice, easy, or normal).
- !!!SPOILER CHANGE!!! One of the required keys to get the "good ending" has been changed. Originally, the player would type a combination into their keyboard to make the key appear. Now, they'll visit a safe and enter the combination into the safe to make the key appear.
Fixes:
- Fixed a typo on the tutorial level.
- Fixed clipping issues with the spray bottle.
- Fixed trophies not properly appearing.
Known "issue:" I am aware that you cannot select "practice mode" on the impossible difficulty. While this may seem like a glitch, this is actually intentional. To make impossible mode "impossible," I've decided to remove the practice option for it. So the player's challenge is to learn how to beat it by playing it without the "friendly cats."
Thank you all for playing and enjoy! :3
P.S. Starting January 17 2022, there will be a big sale for one week to celebrate this major update!
Winter Update!
Hello Everyone!
It's been a while. But I'm excited to release this small update for you today. With my vacation time, I've been able to work more on the game. Alright here we go:
New: - Added a tutorial map: This tutorial trains the player on the movement, jumping, and sprinting mechanics needed while playing the game (especially for the parkour area). Additionally, this new tutorial level teaches the player the mechanics of all of the in-game items. - New area in the map (subject to be expanded later): This new area is a safe spot meaning the cats can't get to you if you're in the area. - New cat passages: The cats also get some special areas they can go where you can't. Found inside the house, the cats have some new tricks up their sleeve. - New snow and winter effects: I felt that the game needed to be more festive and wintery. So enjoy the winter theme around the map until the end of February! - Added an option to turn off the snow effects: This will allow players to turn off the in-game snow effects if they wish. - Added a new Wintertime achievement: Have fun playing in the "Whisker Wonderland."
Bug Fixes: - Fixed an issue with Lila meowing too frequently. This caused her location to be revealed too often which gave the player an unfair advantage against her. - Fixed a bug with a looping elevator sound.
Known Issue: I'm aware that the new snow particles can get into the house however, after numerous attempts to fix it, I was unable to prevent this. I hope you don't mind the snow in the house ;3
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year everyone. Your support has been wonderful and I enjoy watching videos of you all playing the game :3
Enjoy this update! :D
CHALLENGE MODE DLC + 1.2.1 Patch notes
1.2.1 is a relatively small update that makes room for the new Challenge Mode DLC! More information on the DLC here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1673840/view/3020219432722152763
New:
-Added an option to turn off the cat POV monitors. This should help with FPS counts! -Rebalanced Gingers speed. Ginger moved a little too fast so I made her just a little bit slower. -Added some more easter eggs! -Numerous bug fixes!
Known Issues:
-I am aware of the player being able to sometimes pick up more than one item at the same time. I'm trying to fix this currently. Hopefully, I can fix it pretty soon. (Update: I fixed it!)
