We’re delighted to share a massive console update to boost your circus’ performance!
First tested via our Open Beta feature in January, all new features are now being implemented on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
What was added?
Randomized Starting Troup
When starting a new game, a player's troupe will be composed randomly within predefined criteria, both in the tutorial and other modes.
Artist’s Stress Effect
Once every encounter is finished and based on its outcome one of the performing artists has the chance to receive the ‘Stressed’ effect.
‘Stress’ makes the artist unable to participate in the show until the effect is removed.
‘Stress’ is removed from the artist once 1 encounter is completed.
Ability to Perform Shows in 3-Star Cities
After acquiring 3 stars in any city, each player is able to play shows again within these cities on a normal basis, including cooldown between shows. However, the amount of revenue and experience will be lower.
As many of you have noticed, your beloved Circus got through the refreshment process.
As we've reached the end of OPEN BETA - where you could have personally advice us on what to improve - we implemented the new features into the main version of the game. It means that all the refreshments are now available to each of you playing The Amazing American Circus.

We are really grateful for all the feedback you've provided us throughout the process of testing. According to many comments, the new features were well received and implemented the desired, deeper diversity of gameplay.

We promised? So we will deliver brand new exciting experimental new features to your beloved Circus game are on the way! We rolled our sleeves up, counted all the juggling balls and got to work. Aaaaaand…
*the drum roll* HERE IT IS! The set of new functionalities, ready to implement into the game! Well, not exactly ready, because to polish it and prepare it as satisfactory as possible, and to meet your sublime expectations, we’d like to make a small deal with you.
BETA BRANCH
To be by the book and to test all features before the final enactment, we are asking you to join our beta available in the branch, and leave us your valuable feedback! So before we push new mechanics to public, we were sure they are what you need.
In order to change branch to Open Beta:
Right-click on the game in your Steam library.
Click “Properties”.
Open the “Beta” tab.
Select the “Open Beta” branch.
At this point the game should start updating. Good luck and have fun testing new features!

The key is to check whether the features meet your expectations or not. We’ve studied the detailed requests and analized what would be the best options to implement into the gameplay to differentiate the experience. Hence the new functionalities above.

January Patch
Mesdames et Messieurs, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Beware as the new patch to your beloved The Amazing American Circus will premiere today! The new year brings fixes to what was broken, some brand new features, and a promise of a BIG new features coming later this month.
Fixes:
Fixed all not unlocking achievements. Fixed wrong colors of "Blessed Be Thy Chicken" reward chicken. Clown's card “French Drop" now counts all cards in the Players hand correctly. Fixed Conjoined Twins special effect not being applied on Player's troupe.
Important! Due to an internal error, we had changed save files localization in the last patch. If you have played recently and want to keep your progress - follow the below steps. If you haven’t played before 17th December - your save files should work fine.
Locate your save files in C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Klabater\The Amazing American Circus Locate files with .dat extension (save0.dat, save1.dat, save2.dat) Select and move those files to the ‘Saves’ folder. (C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Klabater\The Amazing American Circus\Saves) Make sure that the ‘Saves’ folder contains fogOfWarX.png files.
New features: Adjustable speed of animation
You can now adjust the speed of animations played when casting cards and finales. We received many requests to add this feature to make The Amazing American Circus gameplay faster and smoother, and now we are delighted to confirm - we did it! You can access this feature in the game settings menu and use a toolbar “Performance speed” to control animation speed, increasing them by 100% to 200%. The speed can be adjusted in any way anytime during the game.
More new features coming!
The below features are currently “work-in-progress.” However, we expect to make them available as a beta branch to You all for testing still in January. We deliver them in late January or early February if met with positive feedback, so stay tuned for the following announcement coming ETA mid-January.

When starting a new game, your troupe of artists will be composed randomly within predefined criteria. This will allow more fantastic replayability and encourage players to experiment with a wider choice of artists.
Artist’s stress effect
After every given show based on the show outcome, one of the performing artists can receive the ‘Stressed’ effect. ‘Stress’ will make the artist unable to participate in the next show until the effect is not removed/ cured. The main goal of the feature is to encourage the rotation of the troupe members between the shows.
Perform Shows in the cities (endlessly)
After performing max 3 stars in any city, You still would be able to perform there regularly (including cooldown between shows).
Steam Cloud Saves
Self-explanatory, support of Steam Cloud Saves will be added for greater comfort.
