New patch is out, we've added some content and fixed some existing issues:
• Added new events and also new options to existing ones.
• Research point gaining is rebalanced to provide easier progression.
• Fixed several creature and clan bugs on save system.
• Fixed climate and weather bugs on loading a save file.
• Research and culture tree requirements and effects changed.
• Added option to save and load game on level ends.
• Added AI Clan to the game.
• Added new vegetables, creatures and trees for new maps Ural, India and SinoChina.
• Added storyline objectives to Ural map.
• Made policy sliders work and connected them to events.
• Changed the nodes under 4 sub branches of culture tree and made them work and selectable.
We are progressing and evolving in preparation for Steam NextFest so catch us October 9 - 16. We will have live content, Dev Q&A, and more!

Today we released a minor update to address several bugs, and added some content.

So, what have we been up to?
We have been working diligently on The Ancients to bring you the best game possible. Our team of developers have been pouring their hearts and souls into making sure that our game meets your expectations. Through our hard work, we are confident that you will be pleased with the end result when The Ancients is fully playable and ready for release.
To be more specific:
- Rivers system has been implemented.
- Africa, Mesopotamia, and Europe maps are ready now!
- Animals and vegetation for the three levels are modeled and added to the game.
- Tribe scenes for Africa, Mesopotamia, and Europe have been designed.
- Different objectives for the three maps have been designed and implemented.
- More animals and vegetables have been added.
- Craft system updated.
- 20+ more events have been added.
- Historical Landmarks for the maps have been added.
- A large number of bug fixes have been implemented.
- The transition between levels and map selection systems have been implemented.
- Some of the Indian subcontinent animals have been modeled and added.
Again, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for your continued support. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of enthusiasm and positivity that has allowed us to progress and grow. We are looking forward to what comes next and are eager to continue working on The Ancients as we get ready for a 2023 release.

The Ancients is Live on Kickstarter!
As the Gorilla Softworks team, we have worked very hard on making The Ancients the best it can be. But there comes a time in every development adventure where funding becomes as important as the passion of the developers. And that time has come for The Ancients as well. Our team wants to release The Ancients in its most feature-rich state, so we have decided on launching a Kickstarter campaign and reach our goals with the aid of our community. At the moment, we have three stretch goals that go up to 15.000$. Our stretch goals are as follows:
- At 8.000$, we are planning to add dynamic weather effects to each biome that ranges from rainbows to typhoons.
- At 10.000$, our plan is to hire additional 3D artists to work on enhancing the graphical experience of The Ancients.
- At 15.000$, we will hold a community poll to decide on new biomes to be added to the ever-expanding world of The Ancients.
These stretch goals are not final and new goals will be added as the campaign continues.
If you would like to support us in reaching these goals, you can choose between a number of pledge options and be rewarded accordingly. And while you are choosing which tier to contribute to, keep in mind our Early Bird discount (down to 119$ from 149$) we have on the highest tier. With higher tiers of pledges getting all the rewards of their lower tiers, our pledge rewards are as follows:
- 3$ or more gives you access to the Pledge Manager and gain the amount you have spent as credit on the manager.
- 24$ or more gives you access to a digital downloadable copy of The Ancients on Steam for the full release. You also gain access to digital wallpapers and developer polls that will shape the future of the game. Your name will also be featured in the credits of The Ancients.
- 79$ or more gets you the ultimate digital tier for this Kickstarter campaign. In addition to the rewards from the previous tier, you also gain access to the digital artbook and Kickstarter exclusive Tribe and UI Design.
- 149$ or more is the ultimate package for this Kickstarter campaign. With this tier, you will also be rewarded with exclusive rewards that won’t ever be available again. This tier includes but is not limited to: a hardcover print of the artbook, the privilege of naming a character in the game, and top-quality miniatures.
