Main Features

Injured Reserve! You can now move characters to and from Injured Reserve on the Formation screen.
IR characters are:
Not included in any fights
Will auto escape any fights
Cannot come to the aid of comrades after a lost fight
Are still with the party so subject to diseases, events, traps etc

Weather! Leman now has 30 day seasons too.
The weather is affected by:
The season
The map you are on
Yesterday's weather
Your latitude if you are on the main map (it's cold up North)

The weather can be:
Hot - all combatants will tire more quickly
Windy - bad news for anyone trying to fire a bow/crossbow
Rain - A penalty to all attacks
Freezing - Tire slightly less quickly and a small bonus to damage inflicted

There's quite a few interactions with weather and spells too - fire spells might be not quite as powerful in the rain, for example...

On the last day of every season (day 30, 60, 90...) the planets align and magic of all kinds is that little bit more powerful too!


Fixes

Fixed scrolling on shop inventory when many items
You can now place promoted beasts on the formation screen
Stopped the Angels Wept achievement firing after any encounter with Archons
After using Unleash the Beast skill, stopped needless flip to next adventurer
Show Elf pics, not Human pics, on bounty hunting/bandit camp missions if you got quest from Feygrim
Fix problem with new missions being generated at New or Old Feygrim
Fixed promoted beasts gaining HP at the start of combat sometimes


Balance

A few more tweaks to Easy level to make the game a bit more noob friendly. In particular, bandit bow fire reduced in accuracy. (Easy only!)

Point review of all enemies (all levels). (Points are what the AI spends on each encounter)
Bandit bosses are now significantly more points, reflecting the fact they are much more powerful than normal bandits.

Some enemy armour levels altered slightly.

Aspirations allowed to be offered much more quickly

Very powerful wizards will get slightly faster mana regeneration

Necromancer's tower event will only ever fire once per game

New Features

By popular request, you can now promote your beasts into your team. (There is an icon top-right of the inventory screen)

New locations on the strategic map.
Leylines (Pray for powerful bonuses, but becareful not to overdo it!) and Catacombs (some new combat encounters)

Lots of things now affect stock, prices, adventurers for hire:
New settlement events (Festivals etc)
Caravans success/failure rates
Settlement being raided
Relations with faction

If allied with the orcs, you can now hire one, with a special kunnin disgize...

Alter the appearance of your band (hair colour, pic and skin tone)
(use the edit icon on the inventory screen)

Bugs fixed

Fixed Eyeglasses bug (name and powers disappeared)
Bug fixed if you make a path in combat, and then use a skill like Defend or Sprint.
Fix for headless trap victims on summary screen
Fix for some special characters getting a female body sometimes... (e.g. Mamut)
Fix for fire continuing after abandoning a battle
Fix to disease text bugs on inventory screen
Fixed bug with crash on certain (level 3) aspirations complete
Fixed bug on causing No Eldar Invasion option not to work sometimes...
Fixed bug with some locations not being removed after winning a battle

Combat

Reworked surround bonus. Outnumbered effect halved. New Surrounded bonus if you have guys actually on the other side of the enemy. Hopefully this will help make the game a bit more about manoeuvre and tactics.
To get this bonus you need an ally opposite (i.e. on the other side of the defender) - or in a space adjacent to this. (while still adjacent to the enemy)
New AI to deal with new "surrounded" bonus.
Expanded leadership. Killing an enemy leader will result in a bigger than normal morale drop to surrounding enemies. Good leaders now have an aura, providing a small combat boost nearby.
Both these rules apply to your party members too!

Misc

Improved some combat animations
Improvements to dungeon map (the narrow corridor one won't be picked if there are too many combatants)
Add specialisation route to F2 info screen (e.g a rogue can become a ninja, assassin, etc)
Show weapon specialisation group in tooltip
Cut down on early "elite" variants of enemies, as these are a bit too difficult

V1.05.01 is now live!

New Features

Gossip screen! At any location, learn where rampaging enemies are, and if you're lucky, pick up a clue on nearby dungeons, etc.

You can now change the order of your party on the Formations screen! (Useful for grouping missile and melee troops together)

More varied opponents! Bandits, Orcs, Elves and Undead encounters all now come in different flavours. Some will have more missile troops, some more magic, some more elites, some more numerous. Look out for some rare and unusual combinations too!

Settlements that are destroyed now have settlement destroyed graphics! (Thanks to Willsama again!)


Info


Details of the free skills and stats given at level 5,10 and 15 added to the Class info screen (F2).

On the Specialisation screen at level 5, added tooltip to character, showing all skills and traits.

Added Beast stats (Attack, Defence, Damage etc) tooltip when you have recruited them.

"Darkness ends" message (and in the log) when the spell runs out.


Gameplay

New option on new game to stop orc bands getting ridiculously big. In effect, if you turn off orc threat and elder invasions, you can now play and ignore the story of The Game.


Fixes

Fixed crash in combat when burning many enemies at once.

Fixed white background when visiting New Feygrim.

Fixed F2 screen not working if used from the strategic map screen.

Fixed white square replacing face briefly on axing or specialising a character.

If you have a beast in your left hand and use swap weapon to swap to a two handed weapon, the beast will be released.

Corrected beast noises on releasing them. (It was always dog bark)

Fix text to rare Vampire/Beautiful/Ugly character event.

Fix when you get a new party member via event and you have a full team. This recruit will no longer be lost, instead they will hang about until a slot is free, then join.


Balance

Kill orc champion quest refined - MUCH more loot now given, and a big relations boost once quest completed.

You will receive the free Shield skill on level 5/10/15 only if you are a shield user. Non shield users will get a relevent weapon increase instead. (e.g. Knights get this at level 5 - not all professions)

Wizards and Ninjas get a free pip of armour to help balance them slightly. Those robes they wear don't just keep out the cold!

Rat Crisis! Again... This was still virtually impossible to complete. Now, with judicious use of the new Gossip screen and a bit of dedication to hunting these pests down, it should be possible... I did it! :)

Stop randomly generated zombies in first 100 days.

Toned down Dragon numbers.

V1.04.00 is now live!

Two new professions:
The Beastmaster (from Wanderer) - has access to the Tame Beast skill - if you defeat beasts in combat he will have a chance to tame them... With multiple levels of this skill you can even tame the mightiest beasts in Leman!

The Adventurer (from rogue) - Fed up of not being able to take the skills you want? This jack of all trades has access to almost all of them - and on doubles can even take some of the skills from the unique section, e.g. Medic, Spinning Blades, Berzerk!

AI Improvements

Sometimes the AI seemed unwilling to chase archers, stopping a few squares away as if they were melee troops. Fixed!

Sometimes when AI defends (i.e. with missile superiority) one defender does not fall back to the others. Fixed!


Fixes

If you are mid dungeon delve and save on the character or level up screen, the load will set you outside the dungeon. Fixed!

Magic items with Teleport spell gave you 3 bonus mana, which is not enough to cast the spell. Teleport spell changed to 3 mana.

If you got ambushed, code did not take into account the missing 60 AP when calculating fatigue. Fixed!


Balance

Reduced unskilled bow shooting penalty from 20 to 10

Rework of Very Easy level. You will now face less ridiculously easy battles - For example, the early basic bandit encounter will typically change from 2 to 4 enemies.
Instead you get a +5% chance to hit (melee and missile) and also a substantial increase in XP gained.

Very powerful versions of bandits/orcs/zombies etc toned down.

Misc

There are some bonuses for characters that reach level 12 and level 20. These bonuses are now received at level 10 and level 15 instead. (level 20 will take a very long time indeed...)

Release the Hound skill - Renamed to Release the Beast. (As there are now more tamable beasts)

You can now press at any time to get help on professions and what skills they can take.

Shortcut added in combat to use Defend skill (CTRL-D)

Shortcut added to show current hit points in combat (CTRL-H)

v1.03.02 is now live!

Fixes to 2 rare CTDs.

Fix - When on the jungle map, counter graphic was lost, resulting in a white square around your shield.

Fix - Firing the event "discovery of the new world". Some games this would only fire after the elves were destroyed. This should fire on its own sometimes too after at least day 125.

Loot when you turn pirate increased a little.

Balance change - turned down the effect of lost hit points on combat abilities.
It was very hard to run an all melee band - by the time you had got across the map (tiring) and lightly injured from the shooting, your melee skills were vastly reduced!
Injury penalties now require much higher injury levels.
AI troops will also benefit from this change.

Balance changes for Easy Difficulty - before it was very hard to get XP as the battles were so easy...
Big bonus added. (To a lesser extent, likewise for Normal difficulty)

Bugfix - sometimes you couldn't do an Active Skill (Like Defend) if you had the exact number of AP required.

Pursuing enemy on the strategic map could get very jerky - fixed to be a bit smarter about the number of times it needs to recalculate the route to the enemy.

Traits - this bug has been in there for a while - everyone was getting 5 traits, when it should be much fewer... Oops!

Various minor tweaks and fixes.

Performance tweaks! I've cached a lot more graphics, so you should some speed improvements, especially when flicking between screens in a town, and when loading a new combat.

v1.02.00 is now live!

Enemies reworked:
Rats - will surround you rather than ambush you. (Also other encounters, much more rarely)
Imp - become skirmishers and will use fireballs. And yes, they are still invisible until you get close...
Vampire gets new skills and unique spells. You will have access to them if you manage to hire her - (they are added at hire time, so sadly not if you have already hired her)

New Weapons:
Flails (Hard to use, but enemy shields useless)
Hammer (Can be used to destroy enemy armour)
Scythe (Only one attack mode, which covers 6 squares!)
Pike (Reach 3 & repel enemy)
Halberd (Reach 2 & hook enemy closer)

New weapon abilities:
2 Handed Sword - Overhead chop - area affect, 2 squares forward.
2 Handed Axe - The Haymaker - All or nothing attack - lots of damage, leaves you vulnerable next turn.
Sword - Counter attack - if the enemy attacks and misses, you get a free attack back.

Rework of how ranged chances are shown to user:
You now get a percentage chance shown by the cursor, plus a list of all the factors that are affecting the shot chances.
Any terrain or characters in the way will be highlighted in red.
Any terrain or characters close to the expected flight path will be highlighted in yellow.

Added 50% chance of inaccurate missiles not hitting anything at all, even if it deviates onto another occupied square.
It was virtually impossible to miss if you aimed at a large body of troops.
Many changes and fixes to balance missile fire.

Review of enemies speed on the strategic map - assuming you are not lumbering about in plate mail/with injuries/with vast amounts of heavy trade goods, there should be very little that is faster than you now.
Also, far fewer things should flee you on the strategic map.

Bugfix - sometimes summoned units entered the battlefield invisible and the battle became unwinnable - fixed!

Bugfix - Music and sound volumes can now be updated without needing to restart the game.

Bugfix - If you are on a caravan mission to a place that is destroyed, the mission is now immediately cancelled and you regain control of movement.

Bugfix - Expanded skill descriptions in combat featured control characters - removed.

Bugfix - Bizarre bug when you had help (e.g. militia) and no adventurer in slot #1.

Bugfix - Account for all help when giving out experience points.

Bugfix - Solo achievement will no longer fire with militia help.

Keyboard shortcut added - Ctrl G - Toggle Grid on and off in combat.

Keyboard shortcut added - Ctrl T - Toggle Fade trees on and off in combat.

Rework display of Hit Points - can now more easily see the actual number of HP remaining. (Mana also)

Movement Grid now has a darker border to make it a bit easier to see.
(You can turn the opacity of this up or down also in Options screen)

Skills re-coloured:
Orange - characteristic upgrades
Yellow - skills that have to be used in combat
Passive skills stay white
Spells stay blue

You can now pan the map whilst holding middle mouse button

New option added to disable screen edge scrolling

AP shown when moving is now AP left rather than AP cost

Tooltips added to party faces in lower left

Warning added if you create a party with a name that already exists (party name is used as save game name)

Difficulty tweaked up, slightly...

v1.01.06 is now live

Mainly this update is to try and fix fonts not displaying correctly - reported just once.

Temporary solution:

If you have this problem you need to: (I will spell everything out as I know it's virtually impossible to read the text if you have this issue!)

Make sure game has updated - should be within 15 mins of me posting this (Build 8911112)

Go to Options (This is the third button on the main menu)

Select the option "Force plain text" (This is the checkbox in the lower left!)

Click on the Tick button in the bottom right.

Exit and restart...

The game will now use a default font rather than a calligraphic one - hopefully... this will fix the problem.

I have also posted on the tech help page for my development app and hopefully someone will be able to help there for a more permanent fix to this.

v1.01.05 is now live

A fix for a CTD... (a variation on missiles going outside the battlefield...)

Fix for being unable to select an adventurer with a dog in rare circumstances



Some more minor things I was working on and had finished:

5 new achievements added (relating to v1.1)

You now get directions to the Bandit Camp and Crypt when you accept the mission
Spider nests will be shown on the map when you accept the mission

A button to give up totally on the retreat screen (just for special caesar, who had to wait 5 mins+ while his surrounded plate clad adventurer was nibbled at by rats!)

Bug fix where it would say militia come to your aid but they didn't

Fix - combat music not selected when you get an ambush in party's favour

Holding Ctrl in combat now speeds up melee and ranged animations, as well as movement.

Just a few fixes for crashes:

Trying to cast fireball off screen
Fix for fire/abyss spreading off screen

Also changed instructions for Teleport spell to make it clearer what's going on. (First you need to select who you want to teleport, then the space you want to teleport to)
