The development of TCWE2 has been scientifically slowed down this summer. Our small team has encountered various difficulties and has been preoccupied with developing another game, Arms Race 2. However, there is good news! While working on the Arms Race 2 demo, we identified some issues with the in-game interface design that are also present in TCWE2. As a result, we invested a significant amount of time and effort to resolve these issues for Arms Race 2. This has provided us with valuable insights into what needs to be fixed for TCWE2 as well. We are committed to making the necessary improvements so that many of you will be able to enjoy TCWE2 on your monitors.
In the meantime, while you are waiting for TCWE2, don't forget to try out the Arms Race 2 demo!
Hello comrades! This month brings fantastic updates (as with every month, of course). Firstly, we must inform you that the speed of TCWE2 development was temporarily reduced last month. We had to utilize all our physical and intellectual capacities to complete and polish another project for Steam Fest, which is taking place this month. But fear not, it doesn't mean we haven't made any progress on The Cold War Era 2. In fact, we have reached a significant milestone!

In this screenshot, you can see an American Infantry soldier from the World War II era. This unit has been created using the unit crafting feature and is ready for production. We're pleased to announce that the unit crafting and production department is now fully functional in the game, and it works amazingly well!
While I'm unable to show more at the moment, I assure you that in the next update, I will provide additional screenshots of crafted units in production. Please let me know if there's any specific unit you would like me to craft and place in production, aside from the American infantry.
I have another exciting news to share with you! We have just released a free-to-play demo for another one of our political grand strategy games - Arms Race 2. The demo is now available for you to play and experience. Be sure to seize the opportunity and be among the first to play it. Don't forget to share this wonderful news with your friends as well, as they too will want to dive into this captivating game!
In this update I'd like to show you the technology window. As you can see this window is currently in developing progress and everything can be subject to change.
1 - This is where you manually assign funds from budget to technologies and researches. You can take as much as you need but less you have in your budget - worse your country developing level. So, you must limit your self at some point and keep the right balance.
2- Once you develop a research you can name models and its versions. For example, instead of Abram M1 we can name it - Unicorn G-Y
3- When you research a model you can upgrade it. There you can see what new setting of the model will be after the upgrade. Once you upgrade it you will have two models available for crafting, one is Unicorn G-Y and another Unicorn G-Y2 . Different models can be used for different battlefield strategies. For example, one can be for a close combat and another for recon.

We would like to inform you we have started coding again. As I mentioned in my previous message we had to dive into old code and learn again everything what was done before. Learning from the past is passed and now we are back to normal developing process.
We have completed budget department and political groups for regions. On the screenshot below you can see functional budget for different departments. All calculations and math works perfectly. In budget you will be able to see your finances in private and nationalized economy sectors and how much you invest to social and science sectors.
Here you can see what radical groups are present in your region and percentage compare of it. Radical groups can lead to civil war in the case if your country will have low development level. There should be a balance between your investments to economy and social sectors in budget. Otherwise radicals won't let you to wait them to come.

Scary armies on the field!
Landscape bonuses and penalties
Each country has its own unique geography. Battle tactics always depend on landscape and size of a country or combat operational area. All these specifics should be considered during battle tactics. Each phase of war is different and unique for all countries in the game. Battlefields have different landscape.
Here is a list of some bonuses and penalties for military units in different landscapes:
Submarines have penalty in shallow waters
Mechanized units have penalty in desert, city and mountain areas
Infantry has bonus in city and mountain areas
All Air units have penalties in mountains and bonus in desert
Infantry has bonus in jungle, mountains and city
You may want to consider landscapes If you move your units to a proxy war or build military base abroad and locate your army there.
On the screenshot below you can see phase of war with many combat areas. Each area has its own penalty and bonuses. The wiped off area is for text. We still work on texts and letter styles and can’t demonstrate it at the moment.

Each battle field is unique. It has different geographical landscape and size. Each landscape has bonuses and penalties for different units. We will speak about it in the next diary. Today we are going to discuss the size. Because it does matter! The size in the game has special term and it is DISTANCE.
Battle field ( or battle front ) is divided on 12 vertical lines. Units move back and forward on the battle field between the lines. For example, If your unit is on the line nr4 it can move back to the line nr3 or forward to the line nr5.
Battle field can be in any region all around the globe. And regions have different geographical size. Each region battle field has its DISTANCE according to how geographically big or small this region. For example, DISTANCE of battle field ( or battle front ) of Ireland will be much smaller compare to battle field of Canada.
Each unit has ENGINE value. This value is for DISTANCE. ENGINE value accumulates with every game turn until it reached value of DISTANCE. Units will be able to move from one line to another when ENGINE value will be more or equal to DISTANCE value.
For example, Ireland DISTANCE is 10. Canada DISTANCE is 100. ENGINE of F86 is 5. It means, this jet will be able to cross one battle field line of Ireland in 2 game turns ( 10/5=2) and Canada in 20 turns ( 100/5=20 ).
Speed of movement can be crucial under different circumstances. You may want to have powerful engines for your units if you want them to be fast on battle fields.
