Update – Revoked Game Keys
If you have encountered a problem with your House of Ashes Steam key being revoked, please contact the reseller who sold you the key. We have provided all official resellers with replacement keys for this purpose.
If you have already contacted your reseller and they were not able to send a replacement key, please contact the Bandai Namco Support Team.
We will ask you to send the key that has been revoked plus a copy of your purchase invoice from the reseller (most digital resellers will send an email invoice after purchase). With this information, our team will be able to issue a replacement key.
Our sincere apologies for this inconvenience. We thank you for your patience and hope that after this issue is resolved, you will continue to enjoy The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes.
Issue - Game key revoked on the platform
We are aware that some owners of House of Ashes on Steam, who purchased their key from one of our partners, have had their game key revoked on the platform. This is a mistake and we apologise for the inconvenience. We are currently working to resolve this issue as soon as possible in order to restore access to all impacted players. We’ll keep you informed.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Crossgame Easter Eggs
The beauty of a horror anthology is that each story stands on its own merit: a uniquely dark tale, with its own terrifying threats and hapless victims.
[We are aware that some of you may be having difficulties getting the Friend’s Pass to work on Little Hope, especially if you own both House of Ashes and Little Hope.
Due to a technical issue, both games share the same Friend’s Pass, meaning that you can only use it once, in one of the two games. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we have just issued another Friend's Pass for these games on all platforms. Until we can fix this, you now have an additional token to use on either game.
Previously redeemed tokens are unaffected and you can pursue your shared playthrough.]

A Friend’s Pass allows anyone who has purchased a copy of Man of Medan, Little Hope or House of Ashes to invite a friend to complete a playthrough of the Shared Story mode for free. Your Friend’s Pass is a one-time-use key per game, so be sure to invite a friend that you can count on in those life and death moments.
Here is how to claim your Friend's Pass on Steam. If you own Man of Medan, Little Hope and/or House of Ashes and have enabled automatic updates on Steam, you should already have a second instance of the Friend’s Pass application installed for your respective Dark Pictures game(s).
This new Friends Pass application will allow you to easily grab your Friend’s Pass Invite Key and will also be used to play with the invitee of your choice if you haven’t used a Friends Pass previously. If you own a Dark Pictures game and you don’t have this new Friends Pass application, just go into your library and it should be available to install manually.
First of all, launch the owned full game to retrieve your Friend’s Pass Invite Key. Share this key with the friend of your choice that doesn’t own the game. They should then be able to download the The Dark Pictures Friend’s Pass. Both players should launch this Friend’s Pass application to play the game together using Friend’s Pass, the owner of the full game should initiate the playthrough session. Please note that if you plan to use this new Friends Pass on a game where you have previously used a pass, you must choose the same friend again. If you haven’t used a pass before on any of the Dark Pictures’ games, then you may choose any friend. If you have previously used a Friend’s Pass with one friend on one of the games, you can invite a different friend on a different game. See notes for more information*
Here’s an instructional video to help you out.

If you prefer to avoid video tutorials, the instructions for using the Friend’s Pass can also be found below.
Let’s look at the Friend’s Pass activation process. To get started, open the new Friends Pass application for the Dark Pictures game(s) you own. Then, from the following pop-up, copy the serial number and send it to the friend of your choice.
Once your friend is registered and has downloaded and installed the game application too, you can start the game.
From inside your game, select "Play," then "Shared Story," then invite your friend from the interface that pops up.
Your friend will need to start the game application, click “Play,” then click "Play Game” when your invitation pops up in the Steam Client.
When you choose which character you want to play, the Shared Story will begin.
What happens next is up to the two of you.
You can claim your free Friend's Pass right away. Please note that the Friend’s Pass limited-time offer will end in approximately one month from release (Late Feb) and only applies to customers who currently own Man of Medan, Little Hope or House of Ashes or who purchase the game before this special promotion comes to an end.
* Please note that if you have used Friend’s Pass previously with a friend, you must choose the same friend again to replay that game. You can choose a different friend for a different Dark Picture’s game that you have never used Friend’s Pass on before. Example: Player 1 owns Man of Medan & House of Ashes on Steam. Last year, Player 1 played Man of Medan using Friend’s Pass with Player 2. This Year, Player 1 can only play Man of Medan with Player 2. However, Player 1 can play House of Ashes either with Player 2 or with a completely different player.
This update to House of Ashes implements stability fixes in all game modes, including Shared Story, and fixes a block caused by non-playable characters in "Enemy of My Enemy”.
We are actively working on the following known issues:
Endless loading screen in “The Horror”,
Missing levels in Scene Selection,
Game freezes in “Daylight”,
An endless loading screen in “The Temple” when in multiplayer mode.
An upcoming patch is in progress to fix these issues.
