Patch Notes — 01 June Update
For this update, we focused primarily on balance and making the game feel much more competitive, no matter which faction or character you choose. To achieve this, we looked at making the Wastelanders more viable, increasing the tankiness of both Taloc and Els’beth, plus a lot of other small tweaks.
Balance can be a delicate thing to achieve, and there are a lot of levers to pull in order to achieve it. Once the update is live, we want to hear from you. Head over to the Steam forums and let us know what you think of the changes we’ve made. Now, let’s get to it!
Content Changes
Addicted spawn points changed
Amount of Addicted kills required to open up parts of map reduced slightly
More cover added to various parts of the map. Ice Lake, Back Alley, and exits to Sewers all have more cover
Amount of fog increased
Timing to open up parts of the level reduced. Now, Middle will open on every round
Character Changes
Sister Knight Wardens have had their armor color changed to bring up their visibility to match the Wastelanders. The Penitent will remain the same.
Els’beth is now faster
Votan’s rocket pistol replaced with hand cannon
Wastelanders now have slightly more damage resistance overall
Taloc will bring the pain! He’s faster and with an improved fire rate on his grenade launcher
Both teams have updated sniper reticles
We can’t wait for you to get in and try out these changes and let us know what you think. Visit us on the Steam forums and Discord to tell us!
We Want Your Feedback
Being in early access means that not only are we continuing to work on the game by adding new features, factions, maps, and squashing bugs but also that we want your feedback. And although not every decision is suited to taking a vote from the community, we absolutely want the community's voice to be heard and give opportunities to directly influence the future of The DRG Initiative.
One of the things we've been working on is new armor designs for the Sister Knight Wardens. These designs are early in the concept phase, but we're too excited not to share them. The philosophy and direction behind these potential changes are ultimately part of balance -- the Sister Knight Wardens can have an unfair advantage in terms of visibility and we all know you can't shoot a target you can't see. The theme for these designs is to give the Knights a unified team uniform look; like they are part of the best team on the most dangerous show on earth.
Have a look at the designs below and vote on which you would want to see implemented in the game. If you don't like any of them, let us know why! Once we've settled on the design moving forward, we'll be sharing more art as it gets translated from drawings to in-game models.
Thanks for being part of The DRG community and we can't wait to share more of the things we've been working on.
