Chapter 1, titled "First Rites" follows the detective of the story investigating the murder of Father Bell, a priest at the local church, only to fall into the evil trappings of a demon.
Chapter 2, known as "Idle Hands", has the detective head to an insane asylum to investigate the sudden psychotic episode of a school teacher, getting more than they expected as an outcome.
We've given a lot of thought on the best way to exceed expectations but also keep our price affordable for current VR enthusiasts, as well as newcomers. Fun Train and Wolf & Wood are proud to bring The Exorcist horror franchise to premium virtual reality with The Exorcist: Legion VR. Based on the events of The Exorcist III, players experience a stand-alone story untold in the movies across five chapters. Good Things Come To Those Who Wait...
It’s overwhelmingly humbling how supportive our fans have been in wanting to see more about our game. That said, the fans and community are priority, always. But, due to a couple unforeseen speed bumps, we have to delay the release of Chapters 1 & 2. To ensure that both chapters are of the highest quality when released, we need to push them both back just a little bit.
Over the past 8 months we have been working as diligently and furiously as possible to get the game out and we can definitely guarantee that SteamVR and Oculus Store versions will be out November. We are slightly delaying the launch via Viveport and Playstation VR a little longer than that, so keep an eye out for those announcements.
Chapters 1 & 2 will launch simultaneously in each regard as planned. However, we are announcing today the name of the second chapter, “Idle Hands”, as well the pricing structure of the game.
“Idle Hands”, the next chapter of The Exorcist: Legion VR, will introduce players to an ex-schoolteacher who seems to have lost her mind and is set upon by some unseen force. What torments her? We look forward to showing you what unfolds in this thrilling second chapter.
We’re gamers too, and price is very important to us. “Chapter 1: First Rites” and “Chapter 2: Idle Hands” will launch at $4.99 each. We are extremely excited to be able to give VR and horror fans an incredible game for a reasonable and affordable price.
We will be discussing details, titles, and pricing for Chapters 3 - 5 at a later date, as well as announcing more definitive dates here very soon for our inaugural releases. It was a wonderful time deciding what to call the first chapter, but also a struggle. How do you capture the real nature of an event so terrifying with just a couple words?
Users arrive at their Boston precinct, get their bearings, and then are dispatched across town investigate a ritualistic crime where everything they have known gets turned upside down. There's blood, fear, and something very ancient to face which catapults them on a journey of discovery in future chapters.
We're excited to announce The Exorcist: Legion Chapter 1's title: "First Rites".
