The Feud: Wild West Tactics

New Trailer and Steam Festival Aftermath

It was a wild week of streams and letting people try out a small bit of Feud: Wild West Tactics for the first time. We’d like to thank everyone who came, tried out the demo, watched the streams and who made comments both good and critical. We were just thrilled to be able to interact with so many over the week and weekend. It was a great time for both us and hopefully you with Feud and so many other great games out there with demos.

There’s a new gameplay trailer we just put up which quickly shows many of the aspects of Feud that we’ve shown off in greater detail in the streams. Enjoy.
While we are taking this week off from streams. We will be back next week and streaming to both Twitch and Steam again.

Thanks everyone again for a wonderful festival.

Join us at 11:00am PST to see more of Feud:Wild West Tactics on Steam or our Twitch Channel.

New Character Trailer Posted

Hey everyone. We just posted a new "characters" trailer that gives a glimpse into some of the hero characters of Feud. Enjoy!

We'd also like to thank everyone who has been playing the demo and coming to the streams. It's been great to talk to people and share the game. We'll be back tomorrow with another stream.

Final Launch Date and Price

Hey everyone.

The official press release is out today with all the info, but we wanted to share it all here directly. We’ve moved launch very slightly from July 4th to July 22nd to allow for our PR and marketing to have a little more time and to give us some space to take account for the time spent on getting a demo out for the event and the various real world calamities that everyone has been going through.

The other major bit of new information is the price which is $29.99.

We’d like to thank those who tried out the demo yesterday and look forward to the others that will get a chance to experience the smallest bit of Feud pre-launch during the Steam Summer Festival.

Keep checking back during the week If you want to see more, we’ll be streaming multiple times on Steam and Twitch and posting new stuff here. The streams are a great place to ask questions and see the vast amount of content coming your way when Feud fully releases on July 22nd.

Beyond that, we’re excited to welcome everyone into the Feud: Wild West Tactics community. Launch is right around the corner, get ready to assemble your posse.

One last thing….there is a new two families video and new screenshots going up later today too.

Steam Summer Festival

It’s here! It’s the week of the Steam Summer Festival and everyone should be able to get their hands on the demo tomorrow at 10am PST. As part of the festival we’ll be running three streams on our Twitch channel this week. Drop by and have a look at more of what Feud: Wild West Tactics has to offer and with any questions about the game.

The intended stream times are:

16th 3pm PST
18th 7pm PST
20th 11am PST

But wait there’s more….

We’ll be posting a lot of new screens and other things this week too. Looking forward to finally having a tiny bit of the game for everyone to play a little bit early. Keeping this short for now, but there will be more to talk about this week.

So, do you want to play Feud early?

I’m your huckleberry.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be part of the Steam Festival next week. You’ll be able to download a Feud: Wild West Tactics demo and get a small taste of the action.

The demo contains the starting mission from the third story campaign which takes place in the desert. You’ll get to try out Devil Anse Hatfield, Randall McCoy, Preacher, Rita and Kaitlyn as they respond to an ambush. We’re excited to give everyone a playable peek at one of the many battles in Feud.

Along with the demo we’ll also be doing multiple Twitch streams showing off other parts of the game and answering questions. We’ll post a schedule for the streams early next week and look forward to getting into the guts of Feud: Wild West Tactics with you all.

Beyond that, the discussions area is getting the previously mentioned update in the next couple days as we rush towards launch. We’re also in the middle of reworking the old trailers as well as putting together a new one or two for everyone.

Dust off your hat, strap on a six-shooter and get ready to throw down in the desert next week!

Actions and Strategy

Getting close to launch is both an exciting and terrifying time. We’re thrilled to finally get Feud out there. As hard as we’ve been working on it, it’s still fun to play every day which is a good sign and we think everyone will find as much enjoyment in it as we do. Over the years it has been a labor of love bringing each map, character and storyline to life.

As much as Feud sticks to what we all love in the strategy genre it also bends and breaks many of the rules.

One of the biggest elements of Feud which is hard to perceive until you are playing is how dramatically the fights can shift due to the choices you make and the opportunities you are given. Early on we decided to design the game around allowing the player to use their action points however they liked and built upon it with things like inspired mode that add to your choices and combinations of abilities you can use.

It fuels perfect storms where a single character can take out three enemies and flip a losing battle into a thunderous rally. At the same time there is a strategy to treating your entire team like a single complex character to setup combinations that allow you to be more effective. A simple example would be using Randall’s shotgun special to knock an enemy out of cover and then following it up with your other posse members abilities that can capitalize on it. There are dozens of combos, some of them utilizing chains of well used abilities, showdowns and more to allow your strategies to grow and develop as you get better at the game. This type of thinking extends to the research in Saga and even the world map.

We’ll be back streaming this Friday at 7:00pm PST on our Twitch channel. Come over and join in on the fun, see which lowly hired gun rises to the level of hero!

As a sneak peek here is one of the new marketing images for Feud, enjoy.

Hunkered Down

Hey everyone. This week’s update is short, we’re all focused on bugs and prepping some marketing materials (yes, that means new screens and videos are coming “soon”). There won’t be a stream tonight, but we will return next week in force with a new stream on May 29th at 7pm PST.

Strange Carnivals and Streams

The Feud stream is returning this Friday at 7:00 PST and we’ll be showing off some other levels and jumping back into Saga. Otherwise we remain focused on bugs and getting things as clean as they can be for launch.

We’re showcasing Feud: Wild West Tactics at the @GameDevCarnivall, a virtual industry event with 70+ exhibitors, rides and mini games. It benefits the GDC Indie Relief Fund, is free, and they're raffling a Mega Prize pack if you vote for the best booth. We included a virtual booth shot for fun.

Hope to see everyone on Friday!

Quick Update

Hey everyone, there won’t be a stream this week but we’ll back next week and showing off the game again. There’s a delicate balance between pushing for builds on Friday and letting the team have the time to fix things. Our bug count is hovering around 50 and we managed to knock out one of the big ones this week.

As we move closer to launch, we’ll be revamping the discussions area. We wanted to say something before the change so everyone understood what is happening. There’s a lot of stuff there that is years old and no longer relevant. We do appreciate all the comments, even the critical ones, but it’s time to start fresh.

In the new discussions are we’ll have areas for suggestions, announcements, tech problems and of course a general discussion area for things that don’t fit into those places.

Until we do get them setup, we’d ask that you post on the updates themselves as those are staying.

Hope everyone is doing well out there.
