--DEFINITIVE UPDATE--
Happy Autumn!
AcroGames is happy to announce that the development of The Finnish War is coming to an end with this definitive update. After a handful of updates through the year, we are moving on to new challenges!
Of course, one never knows if the need for an update arises still in the unforeseeable future. But for now, this is unlikely.
In this update, you will find:
graphical fixes
audio fixes
minor bug fixes
added 'Scandinavia' multiplayer map to single-player as well (formerly multiplayer-exclusive)
added descriptions for units to the army deployment phase (no more need to memorize unit descriptions from the Help menu!)
Update Notes For Jul 14
minor oversights fixed
Update Notes For Jul 13
Happy Summer To All!
After many months, The Finnish War is treated with a new update, with small gameplay and performance changes here and there.
minor graphical fixes/updates
correct factions assigned to Player and CPU during tutorial
more balanced random army generation for players
old Campaign save files are now obsolete due to certain patch changes and will be deleted automatically on first launch. State of unlocked content (e.g. Factions unlocked from Campaign playthroughs) is not affected
40 Days Since First Release - Dev's Protips for The Finnish War
Pit Traps are hard to spot and can kill a handful of any units that crash down them. ALWAYS check the grounds ahead before sending out any troops. NEVER wander off into a snowstorm if you haven't checked the ground ahead for Pit Traps - they cloak them quite treacherously.
It'd be good to build a Camp as your first deed on most Survival maps.
Even if a pack of Huntables disperses and makes catching them more difficult, you can always try and scare them with your Character to running toward Hunting Traps.
Try to catch at least 2-3 animals every game - rushing is often discouraged, especially in Campaigns, and the endgame (when you're going around the map destroying anything left of the enemy) becomes more difficult to survive with your remaining forces if you haven't managed to minimize Hunger even a bit.
Only play defensively if you have good access to Food.
