Greetings, Descendants. This is the Director of The First Descendant, Minseok Joo.
After scheduling the second Season 1 update to October 10, the Dev Team is working hard to bring you more satisfying content. The Season 1 update has taught us a lot about the direction The First Descendant should take, and we're striving to deliver even better content based on what we've learned. Today, as part of this effort, we've prepared this Dev Note to share some news about our second update.
Ultimate Freyna and Exclusive Story Still trapped in the day of the Room 0 Incident, Freyna's trauma has stopped time and left her to suffer alone in her long grief. In this exclusive story for Freyna, you'll explore the inner mind of a crestfallen hero, gripped by the guilt of surviving alone after failing to save her love and comrades. Bunny was able to overcome resentment of her parents with the help of teammates. Will Freyna also be able to overcome her trauma and face reality? On October 10, the even more powerful Ultimate Freyna will make her appearance. Ultimate Freyna's Arche Chemical Control Suit, Nightmare Dominator, is a piece of gear especially designed for Freyna who feels greater physical strain as her Arche grows more powerful. Up until now, Freyna has had to stall the growth of her Arche in order to survive, but the Nightmare Dominator enables her to adjust to more powerful Arche. With this control suit equipped, Ultimate Freyna's trauma has now become a nightmare not only for herself but also for her enemies.
New Modules Ultimate Freyna's exclusive modules Toxic Mixture and Venom Injection will be added.
- Toxic Mixture: Freyna's passive skill Contagion Links is changed to Toxic Mixture. When equipped, this skill module will trigger Necrosis instead of Room 0 Trauma. As enemies gain more stacks of Necrosis, your Firearm ATK increases when you shoot at them, and if an enemy reaches max stacks, your Firearm Critical Hit Rate also increases. - Venom Injection: Defense Mechanism is changed to Venom Injection. Venom Injection consumes resources to recover your Shield and increase Skill Power Modifier, while inflicting Corrosion on enemies. Enemies inflicted with Corrosion suffer reduced Toxin Resistance, making them more vulnerable to Freyna's Toxic attacks.
Hailey's exclusive modules Supercooled Kuiper Round and Cryogenic Cluster Shot will be added.
- Supercooled Kuiper Round: Using the Unique Weapon reduces Firearm ATK and Fire Rate, but increases Weak Point Damage in return. Also, successful Weak Point attacks recover your Shield instead of your MP. The increase in Weak Point Damage decreases on firing the Unique Weapon, but increases again on successful Weak Point attacks. - Cryogenic Cluster Shot: The Cryo effect is changed to Cryogenic. Using a firearm to attack an enemy inflicted with Cryogenic deals additional AoE damage to nearby enemies, making this a useful skill module for clearing out Common monsters.
In addition, we're adding new modules to improve your builds. Following the addition of modules to improve shield utilization on September 26, we'll be adding modules that boost Skill Power or Firearm ATK instead of Critical Hit on October 10 to encourage the use of weapons and Descendants that have low Critical Hit Rates.
Death Stalker While the enemy wreaks havoc, a new Colossus, the Death Stalker, has appeared in the Void, and it's approaching Ingris. A stalker of living things in the darkness of the Void space, the Death Stalker is a more formidable foe than any Colossus you have intercepted so far. You must jump back in the Void once again to defend Ingris from the threat of the Death Stalker. Overcome the fear of death, destroy the lying mask and discover your true power. With the introduction of the most powerful Colossus, Death Stalker, the difficulty of the final Intercept Battle, Gluttony, will also be readjusted. Join for the opportunity to intercept more Colossi.
Frost Watcher To wield true power, sometimes you need to be cold and deliberate rather than fast and hot. Frost Watcher is the perfect weapon for such Descendants.
This Scout Rifle has been designed with a built-in Chill Arche catalyst to allow anyone to fire Cryogenic bullets, but that cold power wasn't something anyone could wield. The Frost Watcher's Chill Arche would course through the entire body of its user and slow their movements, and very few Descendants in Albion could handle being in such state.
But if a Descendant can handle it all, Frost Watcher can provide them with the most cold-hearted skill in battle. Especially a Cryogenic Arche user like Hailey will benefit from the metabolic boost caused by the Frost Watcher's refrigerant that surrounds the rifle.
Highest Difficulty Infiltration Operations On October 10, we're also introducing new 400% Infiltration Operations with more monsters and loot to enjoy. You can choose the 400% option in Infiltration Operations with the Invasion event, and continue to participate after you have stopped the Invasion. 400% Infiltration Operations feature a greater number of monsters and enhanced monsters than other dungeons, allowing you to fight endless battles. The final battle, which pits you against two named monsters at the same time, is a unique feature of this content. With more monsters appearing, you'll be able to plunder a deluge of loot in 400% Infiltration Operations. This includes an exclusive currency obtainable only in 400% Infiltration Operations, which can be used to obtain special items that can be traded to ETA-0.
ETA-0 Every Friday to Sunday, a mysterious merchant, ETA-0, visits Albion.(The days may vary depending on the time zone of the Descendants) ETA-0 offers a different list of goods each week, consisting of Descendant blueprints, weapon blueprints, materials, inventory expansions, paints etc., which require Standard ETA Vouchers or Premium ETA Vouchers to trade. These vouchers can be obtained by playing the 400% Infiltration Operation and exchanging surplus weapon blueprints. In addition to the rotating shop, ETA-0 also offers the feature to exchange surplus weapon blueprints for ETA vouchers. However, due to the limited amount of goods that ETA-0 brings in, the amount of blueprints that can be exchanged each week is also limited. We're also planning new content that will consume surplus blueprints even after ETA-0 is added. For now, ETA-0 will serve to consume some of the surplus blueprints, but we'll continue to expand opportunities to utilize them more effectively.
Celebrate Halloween in Albion! With Halloween just around the corner, the city of Albion has been transformed with dark and mysterious Halloween decorations. The decorations placed throughout the city will add a lively Halloween atmosphere to Albion.
We've also got some special cosmetics and skin paint that are perfect for Halloween night, so please look forward to them. We hope you all enjoy a spooky and joyful Halloween and have an unforgettable time.
And the Rest of the Additional Season 1 Updates The Resource Defense Special Operations have been underplayed compared to Mine Blockades due to long playtime, low monster density, and sprawling placements. We plan to improve Resource Defense and make it more interesting by shortening the playtime of Resource Defense to the level of Mine Blockade, increasing the number of monsters, and changing the placement style. We also want to address the issue of Reactor farming. To reduce the inconvenience of having to farm a new Ultimate Reactor every time you switch to a new weapon, we're introducing the Reactor Implant system. This system will allow you to implant the Weapon Optimization Conditions of other Ultimate Reactors to your current Ultimate Reactor. An Ultimate Reactor can have up to three Weapon Optimization Conditions, and you can freely implant Weapon Optimization Conditions based on your weapon settings. With this, you'll no longer have to farm a new Reactor each time you switch your weapons, as you only need to implant a new Weapon Optimization Condition into the Reactor you're currently using.
We hope this Dev Note has answered some of your expectations and questions. The Dev Team is always listening to your feedback and constantly striving to provide you with a better gaming experience. We promise to continue to improve and evolve, and we'll do our best to make your time in The First Descendant even more enjoyable. We always appreciate your support and feedback, and we look forward to seeing you in the upcoming update.
Thank you.

Chuseok Holiday Greetings
Greetings, Descendants. This The First Descendant’s Producer, Lee Beom-jun.
First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all our Descendants for enjoying the game.
I’d like to inform you about the upcoming Chuseok holiday. Chuseok is a significant Korean holiday, during which families come together to celebrate and spend time with one another. In Korea, the Chuseok holiday will take place from September 16 to 18. As a result, the regular hotfixes, which have been held almost every week since launch, will not be conducted next week (2024/09/19).
The DEV team has been working tirelessly without a summer break since Grand Launch, so we will be taking a short break during this Chuseok holiday. We ask for your understanding as we take this time to recharge and continue working to improve the game.
However, please rest assured that the second update for Season 1, scheduled for October 10, will proceed as planned. We are doing our best to ensure that everything is prepared smoothly. After the holiday, we will try our best to provide you with stable and satisfying content.
We wish our Korean Descendants a joyful Chuseok holiday with their families, and we kindly ask our global Descendants for their patience as we take this short break. We hope you continue to enjoy The First Descendant in the meantime.
Once again, thank you all very much.

# Director’s Comment In Hotfix 1.1.2, as the Filter option has been changed to Exclude Junk Filter, we are seeing some accidental cases of dismantling Ultimate Weapons.
To prevent such mistakes, we temporarily fixed settings not to allow dismantling for Ultimate Weapons. And the official patch regarding such issue will be set in Hotfix 1.1.3. After the Hotfix 1.1.3, Ultimate Weapons will be automatically registered as Attached Items, and we will make modifications to let Ultimate Weapons not to be selected as ‘designated all as junk’.
For those who accidentally dismantled their Ultimate Weapon between 1.1.2 update and 1.1.2b update, we will restore the dismantled weapons via mail without needing an additional request. We appreciate your understanding and patience while it may take time for restoration. We appreciate your understanding and patience while it may take time for restoration.

# Director's Comments The Dev Team is aware of the feedback regarding Aim Assist and has improved the feature to further enhance the console player experience. Previously, the Aim Assist feature made delicate control difficult as the aim automatically turns towards a nearby monster or focuses on the enemy's torso when you want to attack their Weak Points. With this improvement, the players with controllers now have more control over their aiming, while new players are given appropriate assistance.
- Added page 13 for the Season 1 Battle Pass. 'Crystallization Catalysts' and 'Energy Activators' have been added as rewards.
# Director's Comments To meet the community's expectations for further improving the value of the Battle Pass rewards, we temporarily added page 13 for the Season 1 Battle Pass while providing 'Crystallization Catalysts' and 'Energy Activators' as the rewards. Even if you have already reached Season Level 96, you can still receive the additional rewards on page 13. The Dev Team is working hard to incorporate feedback from the community to further improve the game and provide more value to players. Based on the feedback we received during the pre-season, we have improved the Season 1 Battle Pass to make it easier to achieve weekly and seasonal missions. We appreciate your continued interest in the Season 1 Battle Pass along with the Battle Supply Shop where you can receive free rewards.

'Firearm Critical Hit Damage' and 'Fire Rate' are also increased now. ㄴ The 'Executor's Exaltation' effect at maximum stacks now increases 'Weak Point Damage' instead of 'Firearm ATK.' ㄴ 'Firearm ATK' is no longer increased when hitting enemies inflicted with 'Electrocution.' - Improved the base performance and unique ability of the Ultimate Weapon 'Peace Maker (Hand Cannon).' ㄴ The 'Single Reload for Peace' effect is now also granted when using a 'Fusion' skill. ㄴ The 'Skill Cost' of the 'Single Reload for Peace' effect now decreases depending on the enhancement level. ㄴ Increased the 'Non-Attribute Skill Power per Stack' of the 'Single Reload for Peace' effect. - Improved the base performance and unique ability of the Ultimate Weapon 'EXCAVA (Assault Rifle).' ㄴ Decreased the maximum stacks of 'Voltage Charge' depending on the enhancement level in order to grant the 'Energy Grenade' effect more quickly. ㄴ Increased Additional Damage for shooting while aiming when the 'Energy Grenade' effect is active depending on the enhancement level. ㄴ Slightly increased the projectile size of the 'Energy Grenade.' ㄴ Increased the Electric Resistance Decrease of the 'Voltage Accumulation' effect depending on the enhancement level.
(3) UI/UX - The 'Filter all as junk' function has been retooled to 'Bulk Exclude Junk Filter.' ㄴ Now it functions by specifying conditions for which ones to not designate as junk. ㄴ 'Option Filter' now allows you to choose whether the items are excluded if they meet only one specified condition, or more than two. ㄴ With this change, the current settings for 'Filter all as junk' will be reset, so please make sure to check your 'Exclude from junk' settings before you dismantle items. For weapons, ‘Ultimate or Higher’, ‘Level 1 or Higher’ must be set to exclude level 1 ultimate weapons from Junk. Once set, all level 100 Rare Tier weapon will be selected as junk. You can also check tooltips for Amorphous Materials now. - 'Change Firing Mode' in the gameplay settings is now enabled by default.
Bug Fixes (1) UI/UX - Fixed an issue where it automatically switched to the Tracked Items tab upon entering the Research screen if there are completed or in-progress Research Items. - Fixed an issue where the Usage Information button is not displayed for the tooltips of certain common skins. - Fixed an issue where entering a private battlefield as a party and leaving the party could turn the battlefield to public. Now you are sent to Albion the moment you leave your party on a private battlefield. - Fixed an issue where trying to equip a Module when the Socket Type is changed could incorrectly display accumulated applied values.
(2) Descendants & Ultimate Weapons - Fixed an issue where the effect remains if Ajax’s Barrier is immediately destroyed at the time it is created - When Hailey uses the 'Zenith' skill, it is now affected by the 'Movement Speed' of her current weapon rather than her Unique Weapon. This allows the 'Arche Pacemaker' effect of the Inversion Reinforcement to be properly applied. - If the Max HP of an ally healed by Yujin is less than 1, the amount of recovery is now calculated based on the target's 'Max Energy Shield.' - Fixed an issue where 'King's Guard Lance' blocked enemy projectiles.
(3) Miscellaneous - Fixed an issue where the "Collect Ironheart Particles” quest was not being completed despite being carried out. ㄴ After the hotfix patch, the reward will be automatically applied upon re-login. - Fixed an issue in the Invasion: Order of Truth mission where interacting with a drone before starting the battle with a Named Monster could complete the mission. (This issue will be fixed through Hotfix 1.1.3) - Fixed an issue in the Invasion: Legion of Immortality mission where dying during the battle against a Named Monster could cause certain UI to not properly show up. - Fixed an issue in the Agna Desert: The Asylum (Normal) Infiltration Operation where dying during the battle against a Named Monster could cause the door to not open.
Thank you.
