Update 0.23

Hello, everyone!
This update doesn't add much new, but it fixes a lot of bugs. Hopefully now your walkthrough will be much more comfortable!



Added:



  • Added option to limit FPS in settings
  • Maps. You can now find location maps. At the moment there are maps only in chapter 3 and 6. They are static and quite "raw". But I think even in this form they will make your life easier :)
  • You can now interrupt a rune by pressing RMB while it is being used.
  • Additional save point in chapter 5


Fixed or changed:



  • Improved enemy AI!

    Now when you sneak and get in range of the enemy, he will notice you not immediately. Once you are in range, the enemy will walk in your direction. If you are in his line of sight when he reaches the target - then he will see you.
  • Fixed the "Cat's Eyes" skill
  • Fixed lighting in chapter 2
  • Crossbow bolts now do not pass through walls and are slowed down while using the time rune.
  • Audio settings are now saved correctly
  • Chapters 1 and 5 have been improved
  • Fixed the option to replay a chapter

Update 0.22

Added:



  • New secret location in chapter 6


  • Quick slots


    If you upgrade your backpack, you get extra slots in the quick menu. You can use any items thanks to these slots. Right now it's mostly food, but I'm going to add more usable items in the future.
  • Useful Ghosts

    Most of the ghosts in the game are aggressive. However, there will now be more peaceful ones. Some of them go about their business and don't notice you, but some will tell you the location of secret locations and hidden passages.
    But such ghosts are only visible when using the ghost rune.
  • Added animation when picking up items and when crafting equipment
  • New animations at the residents in chapter 7. Now they're not just standing still, they're doing things! Also added an animation while talking to them.
  • Now you can dismantle traps

Changed or fixed:



  • Now you can't control your character while falling
  • Changed "drop item" window
  • Enemies now die on contact with the trap, only after it is on the ground.
  • Small changes in the design of the inventory
  • Updated main menu
  • Fixed various bugs related to music

It's time to tell you what's in store for next year!


Chapter 8


First, of course, is Chapter 8. I can't guarantee you that all of the remaining chapters will be out next year, but there definitely will be an eighth! The mountain is getting closer, and so is solving the mystery of the cataclysm. I hope you enjoy it! But before we visit chapter 8...

Riverport Prison



Riverport Prison will be an alternate version of the passage of chapter 5. You can go through the level in an ABSOLUTELY different way, without even going in and seeing the town of Riverport itself. But you always have a choice...
My plan is for the prison to be the first major update next year.

New skills



I think you've already noticed that there are a couple of blocked skills in the skill tree.
I'll be adding new skills soon, and there will probably be more than I originally planned. If you have ideas for new skills, feel free to suggest them!

New customization options.


Right now I'm working on adding the ability to change the color of the main character's clothes. But in the future, I want to add new items of clothing, including holiday themed ones.

Full gamepad support


I'm already taking steps in that direction. You can still play with a gamepad, but it's not very convenient. I don't know when exactly, but I will definitely add full gamepad support to the game.

  • New skill - Disintegrator. You will be able to turn your enemies to dust after killing them.
  • New skill - Stun. If you've played the demo, you probably remember the stun. This skill has now been refined and improved. Stun your enemies by throwing pots at them!

The Forked Road 0.2 - Survival Instinct

Added:



  • Chapter 7 - Welcome to the coast! New discoveries and consequences from past decisions await you here.


  • Hunger - You now need to keep track of your character's hunger. If you do not quench your hunger, your maximum stamina value will decrease.
  • Campfires - Resting by the fire you can do one of several actions: restore health, cook food or temporarily increase your stamina.
  • New Items: Carrot, Herbs, Mushroom Soup, Salad, Tea
  • New Equipment - Lockpick Set. Allows you to open any lock with a 100% chance. The blueprint can be found in Chapter 7.
  • New Cloak - Can be found in chapter 7
  • Added music in chapters 1, 3, 4 and 5
  • Ability to save on the same checkpoint multiple times

  • New leg bandage model
  • You now need 2 iron bars instead of 4 to create a picklock
  • Changed description of the ghost rune

Update 0.17

Added:



  • Now you can equip runes before using them. To do this, just point at the rune in the quick menu. And then press LMB with the light on to use it.
  • Added Steam Cloud support
  • Now you can jump over obstacles during the sprint. Also now you can jump into windows. (Such windows are still only present in the intro level, but will soon appear on the other levels)
  • The intro level and chapter 1 have been expanded.

  • The camera now does not go through the character.
  • One of the roads to the main warehouse was removed (Chapter 5)

  • "Knowledge" system - Look for the notes and gain knowledge from them! The knowledge will open up new answers in the dialogues and help you learn more about the world you destroyed.

  • New UI - Completely changed the main HUD. Also the crafting interface and inventory have been slightly changed.

  • Added French language (15%)
  • More text translated into German and Spanish

You may also notice that the "gamepad" item appeared in the settings. It is currently inactive because the game does not fully support the gamepad. However, you can try playing using gamepad!
The gamepad works in:

  • Main menu + settings
  • Pause menu + settings
  • Inventory
  • Craft menu

Basic actions such as moving, interacting with objects, and using the lantern are also available with the gamepad.
