PAPER SHAKESPEARE RPG: New name, new info, new stuff!
A few reasons for the name change.
'RPG' was a fun title to give the game, and the new Argument System worked incredibly well with the Paper Shakespeare universe, but at the end of the day, we just couldn't figure out how to make it all fit together perfectly. We wanted stats and abilities that we weren't sure worked. We wanted an item and money system when we didn't have a working stat system.
We saw that we already had a "point-and-click" puzzle mechanic in place, so we decided to streamline things and make the puzzles the star gameplay mechanic. So we had to ditch the 'RPG' in the title as to avoid confusion and potential anger.
The game also went from a fun little side project, to something that we ripped our hairs out thinking about programming. Other things came up, other investors bought into our visions of sugar plums and whatnot. Suddenly, we didn't have time for the side project.
With this simplified version of the game, we can get it done and put it out into the world as something fully baked. Not half-baked.
We fully intent to come back to a Paper Shakespeare RPG in the future, but only when it can be done right, and have more of our attention.
Expect a new trailer to be on the store page soon.
Announcing our last(?) game of 2020 (probably not, but right now, there's really nothing on the docket).
Sort of kind of based on my time working Halloween stores for the past decade (but not really), but.... you know.... with talking animals and dragons.
Oh, and Kaiju.
Piggybacking off Friendswood's management gameplay, we're hoping to have a more robust system in place. It won't be a full-on management sim, but it will be cool as ice. But cooler than Vanilla Ice's 1991 masterpiece, Cool As Ice.
FRIENDSWOOD early launch, engine updates patches coming soon
I know that release dates have been timey-wimey lately, and we're going to get better at that. An idea is just to not give a release date at all, just a release month.
New RenPy updates
Next week, we'll be systematically patching all our games again with the new engine updates. Nothing major.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1082700/Dinosaur_Shakespeare_To_Date_or_Not_To_Date This one has been hard to crack. How do you end a trilogy, let alone one that is about dating sims? I rewrote the structure to this one, primarily because I was getting too angry and cynical about what this game is a metaphor for: climate change. It's a very different game in tone from our previous dating sims. We do hope you enjoy it. It's still the same style game, but it's also a bit different.
Our third, unannounced game....
We'll most likely be putting up the store page for this bad mamma-jamma after Friendswood launches.
Paper Shakespeare 2 (re)announced!
For a variety of reasons, Dragongate's name is now changing to....
We feel that this name better suits the content of the game as it has evolved in the development cycle, as well as where it fits in the Paper Shakespeare timeline.
We will be changing the rest of the storefront in the coming days, with new screenshots and a new trailer that reflect where the game now sits.
It is still the game that we set out to make in Dragongate and it is still the game that you wishlisted, so don't be worried about that.
We cannot wait to show more.
Oh, and there should be more game announcements for the rest of 2020 *nervously looks at calendar* end of neeeeeeeeeeeeext weeeeeeeeeeek? Don't hold us to that.
End of the year patches
We're sprucing up the audio on all of our games. Taking out some artifacts.
Also.
Happy holidays from all of us to all of you.
