We reworked the visuals and here's a sneak peek at new backgrounds
Greetings!
Over the last few months, we've been hard at work making Deck of Souls the best-looking game it can be. Today, we want to talk about a few of these graphical changes.
Firstly, we were tasked with creating a dungeon, which is no simple task. It's an unusual location and requires a thick atmosphere with eye-catching features.
We started with a few basic shapes to define the floor and dingy walls.
After the preliminary sketches, we decided to add some variety by including a ruined wall.
The wall still looked a bit too clean (even with a big hole in it!). The brickwork was a bit dull, even after we added in a few more accessories, like a door, flags, torches, and grates.
And then we thought about a cave or a grotto. After sketching out a cave rift, we decided to add a crystal mine as a background feature. It not only adds depth and atmosphere to the area but reveals a bit more lore of the game.
It's not just a mine – it's the ancient temple of the fallen angel who imbued the crystals with magic. Each crystal is a piece of the angel's soul, imbuing it with extraordinary power. Centuries later, instead of honoring the powerful being, people began to mine the crystals, and the ancient temple was rebuilt as a prison.
That's not all! In fact, more locations, the appearances of heroes and enemies, and the cards are all receiving visual updates. Additionally, we continue to tweak the balance and add new enemies and new cards. The game will look completely different in the next demo!

Devlog #2: Book of Souls, many changes to mechanics, and new cards
Greetings!
The development of Deck of Souls is well underway and progressing smoothly. The Book of Souls is almost complete and will show players an overview of their card collection and overall game progress.
We have also added brand new cards, a discard pile, starter decks for the Rogue and Warrior classes, and four new starter decks for the Caster class (bringing it up to six!).
And we have started work on improving the interface. If you have already played the Deck of Souls demo, we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about the interface – it will greatly help us.
There are also several changes to card mechanics:
Stealth is now lost when dealing damage;
Snack Attack makes the card instant when in stealth;
Rush cards are now automatically applied if they are added to the deck and if the Rush value this turn allows it.
You can no longer draw the same card twice. Once the deck is completely drawn, it will recharge from the discard pile. It's possible to have an empty deck and draw no cards.
We've made the following additional changes:
Added new cards;
Cards now display the class they belong to;
Added mechanics that enable players to discover and search for cards in the deck;
An indicator to show player damage increases;
Added effects for cards.

The Deck of Souls Devlog #1
Greetings!
We're happy to announce that the development on Deck of Souls is in full swing. There are so many details that we want to share with you, specifically how we are improving the card system, adding more randomness to the gameplay, more merchants, and reworking the classes. Here's an overview of our progress.
The Rarity of Cards All cards will be divided into basic, rare, epic, and legendary types – their rarity will depend on combat difficulty. For example, defeating two tough foes will grant you a choice of three rare cards, while you will be granted an epic card choice for defeating mini-bosses. As for legendary cards, well, you'll have to execute a boss to receive one of those.
Set of Souls Souls are a currency that can be used in different ways to enhance your deck – the game is called Deck of Souls, after all. There are three types of souls in the game: Dull, Bright, and Radiant. Dull souls can be obtained by defeating normal enemies, Brights are trophies from downing mini-bosses, and Radiant souls can only be obtained from executing bosses. Choosing to execute bosses will give you a legendary opportunity to craft exceptional cards or an amazing equipment upgrade. Card sets or enhancements can be acquired at one of the merchant's spots – the Soul Chamber or Soul Blacksmith.
Widening of Classes Instead of focusing on the quantity of classes, we decided to create a more in-depth class design, offering a diverse array of class types, builds, and varied playstyles. By reducing the total number of classes, focuses on several basic archetypes with huge room for improvisation.
Growing of Lore Along with the game's mechanics and features, we'll also be expanding the lore! Deck of Souls will be more captivating and intriguing, but we can't give you any details just yet…
Thanks for your huge support, it really helps us to create an amazing game!
