Hi everyone! I've been working really hard to improve the game over really the past couple months. If you follow the game on socials, you've likely seen a bit of this progress but I thought I would outline a bit of it here for anyone that happens to not follow the Twitter or Facebook page. For those that have played my older demos, I'd love to know your thoughts on how all of these changes sound to you. Join the discord and definitely let me know!
Most Recent Updates:
- Mission structure completely rewritten to focus more on base management and survival.
- The new mission structure allows me to implement new features over time to make the game even better, and I will be able to take in feedback requests as well.
- First animal added: Wild Boar. Complete with its own unique AI and behaviors.
- Repair mechanic added: repair destroyed cottages, walls, towers, and more each with its own bonuses for repairing.
- Resource gathering modified to put more focus on food and gold. Put your workers to work on berry bushes, fishing docks, and farms. Have merchants sell your excess food for gold.
- Start from humble beginnings. Each town is in ruins with few villagers remaining. Train those villagers into workers or soldiers and start rebuilding the town. Gain enough strength to wipe out all enemies and make the town self-sufficient.
- New military units and upgrades. You now start with basic spearmen and militia and work your way up to fully-armored pikemen and champions.
- New combat rules. Entire combat system has been tweaked for unit balancing.
- Redesigned UI for a more streamlined interface that is easier to read and less cluttered.
- Improved Mini-map. Now shows more info such as what the workers are doing, as well as the usual stuff such as enemy and predator locations. Some unit types get their own icon to make them easier to keep track of. The mini-map is now much larger as well.
- Brand new economy system with research upgrades. Upgrade your cohort in many different ways such as teaching workers better farming or fishing techniques or upgrading lowly military units to fully armored soldiers.
Next Up!
- More animals such as wolves or bears.
- Combat AI enhancements.
- More types of buildings to make levels more interesting.
- Combat and economy balancing and refining.
- And more!
